Common Questions and Answers about Synthroid side effects heart

synthroid

Avatar f tn My Endo told me when starting out on Synthroid and also each time he raises my dose that I may have some palpitations or "heart flutters." Each person is different. I have noticed them a bit, but nothing terrible. He said it should go away within a week or two after in your case, starting the med...in mine, when he raises it. Nothing to be alarmed about.
Avatar m tn Hi, I started taking Synthroid .075mg last weekend (Sunday),.
Avatar n tn I have no idea what to do and though I have only been off the Synthroid for 4 days, the side effects have not abated. Anybody have any thing to say to help me understand what is going on? I'm so upset and exhausted from lack of sleep....I was feeling FINE before Synthroid!!!
Avatar n tn I've been on armour about a week and half for my hypo and have just recently started to feel some side effects. I've started getting some pains in my chest, it feels like it's right up under my heart, mostly during the night or in the morning. They don't really last long but I definitely notice it when its there. I am also very aware of my heart beat, even though it's not racing and at a normal rate, around the time these happen.
Avatar n tn I wouldn't worry about anything but taking the synthroid to get that tsh level up, so you can feel better. You may not have any side effects at all from the synthroid...there really isn't anything bad anyway....maybe just annoying. :) You will know over time if it is the right med for you....regardless it will improve your levels. You tested positive for antibodies so expect fluctuations in your thyroid levels.....sigh....welcome to our hashimotos club here.....we feel for you.
Avatar n tn Just a guess and a thought...angina can be a side effect of Synthroid (or any other brand or generic levo). Google "synthroid + angina" if you'd like to read up and see if that seems to be what you're experiencing. Do you know your FT3, FT4 and TSH levels? And the FT3 and FT4 reference ranges? If you're slightly overmedicated (as defined by FT3, NOT TSH), it could be causing this.
Avatar f tn Don't know why they should have different effects since they are both T4. Did you change anything else during the time you switched that could have affected absorption or conversion to T3? What were your FT4 and FT3 levels before and after the switch to Synthroid?
996946 tn?1503249112 I let my Internal Med Dr. talk me into switching from Synthroid....had no problems or side effects...thinking maybe I should have asked for .050mcg on the Synthroid instead. I can't afford to deal with ANY side effects. I just had a second ablation in May for heart arrhythmias. I had taken myself down a notch on the Synthroid a year ago because I was having increased a-fib/tachycardia and blamed it on the dose. Just really don't want any arrhythmia episodes.
Avatar m tn •agitation, hallucinations, fever, fast heart rate, overactive reflexes, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, loss of coordination, fainting; •seizure (convulsions); •a red, blistering, peeling skin rash; or •shallow breathing, weak pulse. Less serious side effects of tramadol may include: •dizziness, spinning sensation; •constipation, upset stomach; •headache; •drowsiness; or •feeling nervous or anxious. This is not a complete list of side effects and others may occur.
Avatar m tn I understand the unpleasant side effects are common reactions to T4 meds, although many people take longer than 3 days to feel them. What I'm wanting to know is: Is it likely that I'll adjust to the dosage and the side effects will lessen? Or is it a possible sign that I've got too high a dose? Based on what I've read here, and in the fine print from the Levoxyl package, it seems likely it might be transitory.
Avatar n tn what side effects from thyrogen shots? I had pill uptake in Feb. my cancer is back, stage 3 pap. I got extremely sick from the pill, hopefully not so much from the injections. This discussion is related to Cancer's back, alternative treatment to going off synthroid?.
Avatar f tn I don't think it's any indication whatsoever of possible heart problems. Although thyroid meds are a synthetic hormone, they're just like any other drug and have side effects, one of which is a faster HR. You also might find that this goes away as you recover more from your surgery...it takes longer than you might think. Also, you're probably not yet at your "ideal" dose of Synthroid. Sometimes this takes some fine-tuning.
