Synthroid nexium

Common Questions and Answers about Synthroid nexium

synthroid

Avatar m tn someone told me that synthroid was not supposed to be taken with Nexium because Nexium has antacid in it and that would block the benefit of the Synthroid. Not true I see...that is how misinformation gets passed around....
Avatar n tn I have had Hypothyroidism for 25 years. For at least the last 8 years or so my TSH has been 0.01. My last labs came in as follows: TSH 0.01 reference range 0.34 - 5.60 (low) Free T4 1.55 reference range 0.63 - 1.36 (high) Free T3 3.89 reference range 2.50 - 3.90 I have never had thyroid surgery. I am not taking vitamins. I have been overweight my entire life and although I eat healthy & exercise I struggle to maintain my weight. I am a 55 year old female.
1369218 tn?1282423884 I am on Nexium, Synthroid, Cytomel, Iron and Vit D. I take Synthroid in the morning and then I take Nexium and Cytomel together. Is that ok??? I then take Vit D and Iron with dinner. I am also seeing a new doc to test thyroid/adrenals. What tests should I have run? I feel horrible and want to feel better!!!
Avatar n tn Would recheck labs in 4 weeks or if symptoms worsen in meantime ask your doctor about the synthroid dosing. Long term use of meds like nexium may increase thyroid requirements, so the higher dose may work out well in that regard. Linda43 - the levothyroxine has a 7 day half life, meaning it takes a few weeks to get out of the system -- it would not still be there 2 years later though.
Avatar f tn My husband is 40 year's old and has had hypothryoidism and hypoglycemia for several years. He takes one 200MCG tablet of levothroid every day. REcently, he started having severe chest pains. Last Sunday, they were so bad we took him to the ER where they performed all sorts of heart tests and determined it wasn't his heart.
Avatar f tn i eat very well, watch my sugar intake, and exercise 5-6 x a week. I take 20mg of fluoxetine every morning as well as 88 ml of synthroid (started thyroid meds about a year ago,) and on hormone therapy (patch progesterone/dim) for 3 years (post-menopausal.) My guilty pleasure has always been a glass or two of w/r wine a day (while cooking and during dinner.) Overall ive alway felt pretty good but for the last 2 years i've been feeling a burning sensation on my tongue.
Avatar f tn Did you take your meds just before the last lab tests? T3 meds are so active that it is a good idea to wait until after blood is drawn, for more accurate result. If you stop taking Cytomel today, since it has a half life of one day, then yes it will be essentially gone by next Tuesday. Don't know if it is useful info for you or not, but I also had a bout with acid reflux when I was changing my meds and got into slight hypo for a while.
Avatar n tn I had a TT this past Monday for 2 nodules and an undetermined biopsy (with some suspicious cells). I have been hypo and on synthroid since 2003. At present I am feeling much better than I thought I would. My doctor said that the thyroid was inflamed??? which was triggering the growth of the nodules. Something about hyper-activity within the thyroid.
Avatar n tn When this all started, she was on synthroid, nexium and imitrex as needed for migraines.
Avatar f tn Have you ever tried something besides Synthroid? Maybe Synthroid is not your cup of tea. My system couldn't handle it. Just a thought. I'm on combo therapy 150 Levothyroxine and 15 Cytomel. It's the only way *I* feel normal. And I tried a lot of meds and combinations of meds. I'm one year post TT for cancer myself. And it does have it's ups and downs...
Avatar n tn Hi selmaS, I first started out with aciphex and then the doctor prescribed nexium. The nexium didnt work so I went back to the aciphex. I use to drink beer a lot and I started drinking a wine coolers and stopped eating certain foods. I did have my thyroid checked a few years ago but i think I need to again since mostly everyone in my family has it. I have to see the ENT in the morning and have a procedure done and I'll ask about that. What do you do for the nodules on ur thyroid?
Avatar n tn Evidently a recent study has shown that PPIs and histamine blocking medications used to treat acid reflux may contribute to bone loss. They apparently interfere with the way the body absorbs calcium, which can affect the strength of the bones and make them more prone to fracture. The study found that people who took either PPIs or histamine blockers once daily for a year or longer had an increased risk of hip fracture.
Avatar f tn He followed up with his doctor on this and I do not think they did the right thing by giving him Nexium. Since he has been on the nexium he has gained 20-30lbs and is now feeling bloated and worse than before. I just do not know what to do about this anymore. I do not know what it could be caused from. If maybe I could get a diet for this type of thing so i knew what kinds of foods that would be best for his stomach and or a better diagnosis. Could this be IBS? We will be following up with a G.

Avatar f tn I have been having really bad heartburn and a burning feeling in my stomach. I was told to take Nexium but I have a severe allergy to penicillin. My question is, can I take nexium if I'm allergic to penicillin?
Avatar f tn Hello, I am 16 turning 17 in May. I started taking Nexium in 2013 in August. I have a severe case of Acid Reflux. My esophagus is mildly burned. I have no ulcers. Ever since I was 5 I had acid reflux disease for years we couldn't figure it out neither could my mom she just thought I had bad morning stomach aches until she became an EMT paramedic in 2010, ever since she figured it out we've been looking for medicine to help.
Avatar n tn They say I have thousands as many and as frequently as a second apart. I am 60. I am on Diovan, Carvedilol, Lipitor, Flursemide, Klor-con for the heart and Synthroid and Nexium.
Avatar m tn He concluded that I may have an ulcer and prescribed Nexium. This initally had good results, but I have evolved into mild constipation and the stomach distress and gas seems to be escalating again. I am taking 300mcg Synthroid, 5mcg Cytomel, daily, vitamins, one HCL and a Digestive enzyme with each meal. I feel pretty good with current thyroid regime, though I do need 10hr of sleep to feel normal, it takes awhile to get going am, and still feel moody.
Avatar n tn My THS was normal If I remember correctly it was somewhere around 2.5. I was only on the lowest dose of Synthroid at the time .25 That was 5 years ago. I stopped the Synthroid and haven't been on anything since. The same thing happened last year with the numbers about the same. I have good period and bad periods. I thought this bout with gastritis was because I was hyper again. but the numbers all look good except for TSH. It was 4.9 this time. Free T4 1.43 Free T3 3.5.
Avatar n tn I am a 49-year old female who has had severe acid reflux for several years. I have been on Nexium 2 X day for the past 7 years and have still managed to develop Barrett's esophagus. At this point, the Barrett's is at the lowest stage, however given the aggressiveness of my case, my biggest fear is that it will turn into full-blown cancer. I have slept with the bed raised for years; I have used Nexium before meals 2x day for years.
Avatar m tn i saw this guy floydd wright on youtube who says do not take nexium if you have hep c . has anyone heard of nexium being dangerous to induce hep c ?
Avatar f tn I doubt that "NEXIUM" has anything to do with your sisters knee pain. You can refer to the package insert if you look up the medication..
