synthroid

Avatar f tn I have hashimotos, i have constant neck arm head and eye pain it is now traveling down my spine, i try to do yoga poses to open up the thyroid area but i feel like im choking.
405406 tn?1247428742 I had bad muscle pain before Cytomel. Unfortunately, my old endo didn't believe in treating FT3 levels. Too many endos only treat with Synthroid. The pain in my calves and feet is gone since starting Cytomel. My FT3 levels were already in the upper 1/3 of the range before Cytomel, but I'm on a low dose (5) and I still feel much better with it. But like Lazymoose said, post your levels.
Avatar m tn What do I do ? Is it safe to stop synthroid for a week and see if the pain goes away? I am running out of options. Please advise.
Avatar f tn When Synthroid is taken it is a T4 medication . It takes the T4 sometime to convert into T3 which is the hormones that balances out your metobolism - and symptoms.
Avatar n tn PTU is treatment for hyperthyroidism. If your on Synthroid you aren't really connected to a PTU treatment. The skin crawling sensation is a common talked about concern for thyroid patients. Its a reaction to the meds and in most cases not really a concern as it is a short lived issue. Usually two weeks its gone along with a mild headache for some.
243059 tn?1202377352 My thyroid has been aching ever since I started taking Synthroid. I first took the generic brand then switched to regular Synthroid ( the more expensive kind.) I am stil experiencing discomfort on both sides of my neck where your thyroid is located. I have had my thyroid " palpitated" to see if the docs feel anything but they never seem alarmed. Can Nodules be found by simply pressing on your thyroid? Has anyone else had pain in their thyroid since being on their meds?
566103 tn?1228385767 Did the dr say ‘secondary?’ From my limited knowledge it sounds more like they’d be looking for a ‘primary’ problem with the parathyroids(?). * I don’t mean to alarm * in saying the following, but a tumor on a parathyroid gland can cause neck pain. It seems unlikely that it's that though since the pain has only just appeared after starting the thyroid med. I agree with Stella5349 that changing to a brand name might be something to think about.

Avatar f tn 2 cm The pain radiates up ny neck to my ear. I thought it was a dental problem, but was just told it is sub acute thyroiditis. Good Grief..how many auto immune diseases can a person have??? (I was also diagnosed with CML in January) Why is the pain worse when I lay down at night? Is it safe to use aspercream on neck and thyroid area?
Avatar f tn I had thyroid cancer and had my whole thyroid removed 6 months before the pain started, so I had also been on synthroid for six months. I went to a thyroid specialist doctor who saw that I never had the radioactive iodine scan or treatment, so he took me off the synthroid for almost 8 weeks to get my levels where they needed to be to proceed with the scan. During this period, the pain subsided and improved greatly.
Avatar f tn m starting to get numbness in my hands at night as well, and it, as well as the neck pain seemed to start shortly after starting the Synthroid...Coincidence or side effect? ~MM (Only been hypothyroid about 6 weeks, "flipped" from hyper before that...
787406 tn?1339203183 Its been 3 and 1/2 weeks on meds and i started feeling real bad again except this time with pain in left side and back, diarrhea, ocular migraines, racing heart rate and neck pain. So endo sent me for STAT bloodwork and my TSH came back 234.66 and my glucose dropped to 62 (I am hypoglycemic and have been for many years, not bad though never really had to pay attentention to it much). The rest of the bloodwork hasn't come back yet. Why is my TSH climbing even though I am on Synthroid?
119341 tn?1232563757 I was told not to mix Heartburn med with the synthroid. To wait 4 hour after taking the synthroid to take any acid reducers. What about pain relievers? I must have slept wrong last night. I can't move my neck and shoulder without severe pain. Do I have to wait 4 hours to take anything?
280485 tn?1249013844 I have severe neck pain (back) so it is hard to do it myself - I have to brib my family (all boys) in doing it for me when I really need it though. I am checking out other options, in fact this Saturday, with a message therapist. I don't know what to expect - but so far what I have done has helped so much I am hoping Saturday will be a good thing too.
Avatar n tn Swollen thyroid extremly noticable, 2.pain to the neck chest and head, continuasly having head aces. Again this basicly happened over night. To get the swelling down her doctor perscribed steroids and antibiodics. This semed to help while she took the medication but when meds ran out 2 days after the symtoms reterned. Can you please give me and my wife some advice on what this is and what kind of specialist to see to get this problim under control or find out that is causing the problem..
Avatar n tn I have been on synthroid for the entire time. I am hypo thyroid. Through the years my goiter has become large enough for the average person to notice something is wrong with my neck. My doctor suggests removal. I have been doing research on this topic and apparently weight gain, hair loss, depression etc are all side effects of surgery. I have never experienced any of these problems. My doctor says this is ridiculous.
Avatar n tn About 6 months ago I started developing pain in the side of my neck. At first I thought it was a toothache because my lower back jaw and my ear hurt as well. I can barely touch the side of my neck and if feels like I have a sore throat when I swallow. This goes on for about a week and them the symptoms disappear. Then I will get the same pain back right around a month later. This has been going on for about 6 month now? What is causing this pain in my neck?
Avatar f tn t have a known heart condition but I have been having chest pain, pain in left arm, neck pain and stomach issues for the past few weeks. Docs have run tons of tests and no answers but NO heart tests. All GI tests. I emailed the Dr today to see if she thought it could be heart related but I didn't get a response yet. I don't want to take the Ativan unless it's safe. Maybe all my problems are stress/anxiety related? My last TSH was on 11/29 and it was 2.65 but on 11/4 was 4.
626217 tn?1221939563 Hello Doctor, I'm 85 years old and I just had surgery on Dec. 14, 2007. I had a goiter removed from my chest and a removal of my thyroid on my left side. The right side was removed when I was 33 years of age. I've been on Synthroid medication most of my life. Now I'm on 100 mg .
Avatar f tn 2) but have had some weird side of the neck pulling or ache sensations.....my ferritin was 52 (10-232) and so i am taking iron bec of hair loss and read it needs to be 90-100 to stop hair loss.....but any other ideas what that neck pulling is....hence i have never tested positive for antibodies in 5 years and just had a test in march that was negative for antibodies again.......i take synthroid 100mcg.....
Avatar m tn I was treated for graves by iodine many years ago. I am on synthroid currently. I have developed a lump on the left side of my adams apple, even with it (not above or below). The lump is solid and i can move it a little bit. My throat is not sore, doesnt hurt when i swallow, doesnt hurt if I touch around it, only if I touch the lump. Then it hurts very much. I developed this same lump about 6 months ago and the doctor dismissed it as stress/job related. It did go away a few days later.
458072 tn?1291415186 I don't know if it's related but could be coming from your neck. I have arthritis on my neck and my doctor explained it. Simple stretches and exercises that I do, usually work straight away... as the nerve from your neck to your arm/hand come out of the neck down to the shoulder into your arm, if is compressed could cause tingling and/or pin and needles.. worth to check it..
