1378884 tn?1315505845 When first diagnosed I could not walk up a flight of stairs due to the intense general knee pain. Now it comes back intermittently for a day or two then it subsides but does not fully go away. I have also felt like I cannot stretch my tendons in my legs enough even after warming them up and stretching for 30 min. I am 55 and have done many bad things to my knees over the years but nothing like this has happened before.
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism in 1995, I have been on Synthroid ever since currently taking .125mcg daily. Started with knee pain in June of this year I now have severve pain in shoulders, elbows, hips, knees and all surrounding muscles. All blood levels within normal limits, as of July 08 M.D advised me to see a Rhumatologists appt. scheduled for 09/11/08. Also test results were negative for Lyme, Rhumatoid, Lupus positive for Epstine Barr.
Avatar f tn I have been on Thyrolar all of those 36 years except for a short test period when I was put on synthroid. During the time on synthroid I had mood swings, a general ill feeling. Just didn't feel like myself. Today I tried to refill my prescription and found that Thyrolar is not available and I am unsure if it will ever be available. I have an appointment to see my internist on Monday and would like to go armed with good information. My pharmacist recommended Synthroid with Cytomel.
Avatar f tn My biggest symptoms were knee pain and back pain. the knee pain was so bad it felt like someone had a knife in my knee. I had to get a tens unit for each leg.
Avatar n tn the main problem is pain in left buttock down to knee, and also pain from shoulder to neck, could it be from high dose of tyroxin or something else.
Avatar n tn I've had Hashimoto's for 30 years and my youngest daughter was diagnosed with it a month ago. Now my older daughter has suddenly develped intense joint pain...in every joint. I've read that can be a symptom of Hashimoto's or perhaps she has develped Rhematoid arthitis, another autoimmune disease. She goes in tomorrow for a bunch of blood work...thyroid and other... Has anyone on this site had experience with joint pain associated with Hashimoto's?
Avatar m tn My mother has hypothyroidism and has been taking Synthroid for over 30 years. The last two years her doctor has been trying to regulate her dose. She is currently taking 100MCG 3 times a week and 88MCG 5 days a week. Her doctor is still trying to "tweak" the dose. However, she is experiencing knee stiffness in both knees. Could this be related to the problem in finding the correct dose? Would it be helpful to see an orthopedic doctor?
1310435 tn?1273598077 Hi, I have PCOS and have had it for over 20 years, I also have severe PMT and I am on PROSTAP, over the last few months I have joint pain in my legs all day and at night, it is so annoying and painful, I feel tired at work and I have quite an active job, i am not lazy in any shape or form but it is really getting me down and I have been advised to lose weight, however, I find it very difficult as I also have an arthritic knee which needs surgery to a new knee, although, I can deal with the pain
Avatar f tn I have felt worse on this dose than before I was taking anything. Lots of hip, knee, and feet pain that I could hardly walk. Went back to see my doc and she said iy had nothing to do with my Hypo or the lowering of the dose. Got another blood test and she lowered it some more to .05mcg. Still feel terrible. If I was feeling so well on the 100mcg why is she lowering everytime I get my blood work.
Avatar n tn About ten years ago I developed this morning anxiety, and for the exception of a few months here and there because of knee replacements and other operations (I guess the pain took the place of anxiety) I have had it EVERY morning. My thyroid has fluctuated horribly for the past eight or so years and is still doing so. I have a physical in two weeks and am going to request a trial on Armour. Needless to say it gets me down horribly.

Avatar f tn Sweating is part of abnormal thyroid levels - hypO and hypEr. Anxiety and palps in many cases, can also be from hypo thyroid - the brain and heart are not getting what they need and are working harder to get the job done. Many docs do not look this far into symptoms, or just dont know. You didnt ask, but it would be beneficial for you to post your last thyroid labs T3, T4 and TSH, I bet your still hypo.

280485 tn?1249013844 This joint pain is from Synthroid. Along with the severe bloating/water retension/breast tenderness (sorry for the last one... but it's gotten WAY worse with the Synthroid...) I take no other "drugs" with the exception of Vit D and Calcium... Sometimes a B-50 and Vit C. *When* I can remember to take them. I'm not a pill person. Remembering the Synthroid daily is something I struggle with everyday.
Avatar f tn s and my Synthroid dosage was increased to 100mcg. Four months later, my TSH was on the rise so my Synthroid was increased to 112 mcg. I am still having classic hypo symptoms but occasionally will have "mixed" symptoms of hyper and hypo thyroidism. Also, I have pain in my neck, jaw, and lymph node areas in armpit, knee, and groin. My doctor says these symptoms are not likely due to my thyroiditis.
Avatar f tn Not only that but my running was not painful. Usually knee pain comes in six minutes into a run and disappears. But I was solid. I run maybe once a week but of course do all sorts of other cardio stuff.

774810 tn?1242254699 "Gland is mildly enlarged measuring 4.4 cm x 1.5 cm x 1.5 cm on the right and 4.5 cm x 1.7 cm x 1.6 cm on the left. No nodules are seen on the right although gland is markedly inhomogeneous in appearance. In the left lobe there is a 1.5 cm solid nodule which is well circumscribed containing a thin septation." I've been scheduled for nuclear medicine iodine scan. I find I'm very scattered and forgetful.
1961313 tn?1326290364 I have problems with my knees, just general stiffness-but one day I had to get down on my right knee and the pain was extreme,it wasn't necessarily in the knee but to the right side of the knee,it felt like the skin was splitting into,I look and the skin looked fine,so I don't know if it's the tendon or the muscle what ever it is,is very painful,in fact I can't get down on my knees any longer
Avatar n tn Hello sarabear and welcome to the Pain Forum: I think what you're experiencing is called Runner's Knee (Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome) The knee is a complex joint. It includes the articulation between the tibia and femur (leg and thigh) and the patella (knee cap) and femur. The most common knee problems in running relate to what is called the "patellofemoral complex". This consists of the quadriceps, knee cap and patellar tendon.
