Common Questions and Answers about Synthroid and tremors

synthroid

Avatar n tn Hello - can thyroid or other hormonal problems causing femur tremors? Can Synthroid or other meds for hypo cause tremors? Thank you.
Avatar f tn s in the course of the years to put me on Armour and they all say NO. They are so brain washed about Synthroid. I finally got a script for Armour this week and am scared now to change. From what I am reading people seem to struggle with the same heart problems and tremors. Any help would be appreciated....remember I have no thyroid gland anymore.
Avatar n tn I started taking synthroid on May 2 and was suppose to have a period around the 19th of May but never did and here it is June 9th. The strange thing is that periodically I feel like I am going to start, (symptoms that I usually get before I do) but I guess I just wish I knew if this was normal or not.
Avatar m tn im hypothyroid and have conflicting symptoms (tremors, coldness, morning cold sweats,) all causing anxiety which is probably the root of some symptoms. The docs started me on .75 mcg Synthroid which made me go hyper and to the ER. I've got a new endo and she suspects that I'm having adrenal hyperactivity to the meds so she's testing my adrenal levels. She's probably going to start me up again on synthroid very low dose.
Avatar n tn t know which is worse, the terrible back pain or the tremors. The tremors are visible and can really drive you crazy. I consulted w/a Neurosurgeon a couple of years ago and was told there is surgery to correct this, but has limitations, i.e., could have a speech slur afterwards. Please give me some insight into these problems. Thank you.
1671473 tn?1450592437 after 8 day taking euthyrox 200mcg i experienced tremors and my whole body was shaking and i feel as if im high. so i was rushed to ER.i shift to other endocrinologist because of what happened my new doc decreased my dosage back to my normal maintenace of 150mcg of thyrax this time..for a couple of months my condition was good, but lately i have been experiencing from time to time tremors again on hand, feet, and head. and when i look at light seems like i see rainbow -like around the bulb.
Avatar f tn when I was diagnosed with hypothyroid three years ago my symptoms were hair loss, unclear thinking and tiredness. Since being on synthroid I have been great until december and my new symptom is hand, feet and lip tremors. Is this a sometimes a symptom of thryoid being out of balance. I also have an internal tremor that started at the same time.
296738 tn?1235996403 s correct, calcium levels are important too..... ask for your vit D too. Low calcium and low potassium can be causes of Twitches and tremors.
Avatar f tn 010 for the last 16 weeks since being overmedicated on synthroid. I have some tremors, insomnia, anxiety, panic attacks and extreme exhaustion. Blood pressure and heart rate are normal. I have an upcoming EGD and Colonoscopy as well as a possible gallbladder surgery in December. I am concerned about feeling this way for so long and taking propofol for these procedures. My symptoms are so bad that I have been in bed for 6 weeks because the symptoms are overbearing.
Avatar f tn Thanks for the responses. The tremors started last January. I've been on a low dose of synthroid for my thyroid for 20 years and was recently checked and was within normal range. I'm a young ;) 58 and have been in menopause for 5 years. Still have bouts of hot flashes - handle with over the counter remedies. Because of different reasons including problems with fibroids Inever wanted to do HRT.
Avatar f tn I was on Armour for 3 years (75mg and ending up at 120) and Nature Throid for 3 months (130mg) and never could get my labs to the right levels. I would get hand tremors alot. Took the medicine first thing in the morning. Family convinced me to try Synthroid and I'm hating it! Are hand tremors normal on dessicated? Was I not taking enough? Should I have split the does in 2? Any suggestions? I do still have slight hand tremors on synthroid (taken it for 7 wks now).
Avatar m tn It lowered my heart rate and BP, but did not help with sleep and tremors. A small 5 mg. methamazole stopped the tremors. I don't think you should use Synthroid for this.
Avatar n tn For example 150 mcg in AM and 150mcg early afternoon? This seems to control my tremors better and has not caused difficulty sleeping.
Avatar n tn i try taking a half every so often thinking it might make my day go better. i get tremors in my hands and its not god since i am a decorative painter--had to stop teaching classes, embarrassed over the tremors and light headedness. i was going to flush them after 90 days of taking them but didnt know the side effects of just stopping them instead of slowly going off of them. now i am seeing that if you take more, the weight gain and bloating and some of the symptoms stop?
Avatar n tn But the headache and tremors are caused by the synthroid. They will go as the drug gets eliminated from your body. The partially empty sella has to be evaluated by the neurologist and correlated clinically after a careful neurological examination.
Avatar f tn My husband's TSH has had problems all year. Beginning in January, every blood test causes his levothyroxine level to be dropped. He has been on levothyroxine since the mid 1990's. We changed to name brand synthroid last month, and the next blood test caused another drop in his synthroid. I was going to suggest you try synthroid, but I guess you are already on the name brand.
460348 tn?1213452322 Go early, and take your Synthroid after, if you can. If that just won't work, then take your Synthroid as usual. If you are still hyperthyroid your medication will be reduced. Hope you're feeling better soon.
Avatar f tn t have to do the radio active iodine, but I have been on Synthroid starting 4 weeks after surgery. Post Operation I was shakey and felt like I had tremors through my body, they found that my calcium was low so I was taking calcium supplements for about 6 weeks. I no longer have to take calcium since my levels are back to normal but I still get real shakey. It starts around 2:00 in the afternoon and sometimes later and tends to get worse as the evening goes on.
Avatar n tn I had RAI in 1989 and have a terrible time with Synthroid. I have tried Unithroid, and Levoxyl for a short time. I had Graves disease and am now hypo thyroid. They OD me on Synthroid for years, and I had a heartbeat problem that was to fast and was getting diaahrea...I kept saying I was on to much and they kept saying I was in normal limits. Well, normal is different for everyone I found out.
Avatar f tn I am getting ready to convert to Armor from Synthroid. Any suggestions about easy conversion without major side effects like weight gain, hair loss, tremors, or arrythmias? Don't want to go hypo, and don't want to be hyper. I have been on Synthroid due to RAI for years and have had every bad side effect their is. The Endo's always made my dose to high and went just by the numbers. That kicked me into heart arrythmias, diah, tremors for years.
Avatar f tn I was put on 0.075 mg of synthroid and from that time to this I have been great...until just before Christmas when I started having tremors in my lips, my feet and my hands. It happened at the same time that I had renewed my synthroid so I had a new bottle and I wondered if it could inadvertantly be the wrong dose. Is tremor like this one of the signs something is amiss with my thyroid.
Avatar m tn I'm not sure I understand the entire Thyroid / Synthroid issue. I have been on Synthroid for many years. About a month ago, in my annual physical, my TSH came back 0.02. Very "low". My doctor decreased my dose from .175 to .150. Does Synthroid INCREASE TSH or DECREASE it? I was told that my TSH range should be 0.40 to 4.50. No other medication or life style issues.
Avatar f tn Hello all, I'm new to this community. I have thyroid issues. Well in September I had deviated septum surgery, and turbinate reduction surgery. Since I had the surgery I've had internal tremors in my chest area. I've taken magnesium but it has not helped. I've also tried atenolol to no avail. Any ideas? I will post this in cardiology also. Just trying all areas. Thanks for any help.
Avatar m tn The bad, excessive sweating stopped!!! Was a happy woman. 6 months later DR tested and wanted me back on Synthroid, and I said only the lowest dose I will try. Its only been 3 days on 25mg/1 a day and I'm sweating again!!! I just can't understand how one low dose pill can be so damaging to me....
Avatar n tn I have had tremors and have Graves too.......its usually when the FT4 is a bit low and the FT3 high....... You do need a boost to your meds but like me..sensitive to meds so take baby steps....62.5mcg is the next reccomended dose. I doubt whether a Doc will prescribe T3 with the drug sensativity. I too have had a TT and also RAI and am doing fine now (done 2008). You are at the stage of 'tweaking meds' and this is a little bit of a bumpy ride. Journal everything..dosage, symptoms etc...
Avatar f tn I'm sorry this is so long. I've been on the same amount of Synthroid (150 mcg) for nearly 20 years, with testing quarterly at times because it was included with other blood work I needed to have done. Last fall, my TSH tested at 34. I felt fine! My physician thought it was a fluke. Three months later, my TSH came in at 59. I still felt fine. Beginning in April, I started .175 mcg. and within 2 weeks I was suffering from severe palpitations, etc.
