Synthroid and sunburn

Common Questions and Answers about Synthroid and sunburn

synthroid

Avatar m tn About a week ago I got a horrible sunburn on my back and the backs of my legs. I was just laying on a blanket at the park, and it wasn't even that hot outside. I had no idea I was getting burnt. Well, the sunburn was/is really painful and it is going away very slowly. It's been 6 days and it still hurts!! I have olive skin that is white, but tans easily. In the past, sunburns have always gone away in two days or so. Could this be a result of the Synthroid?
Avatar n tn I am on synthroid and I do not have that symptom. Curious, how long have you been on the synthroid and have they ever checked you for any auto-immune disorders?
1275696 tn?1349701121 As I dry my body and as I swipe over my arms and legs with the towel my outer layer of skin peels off sort of like sunburn but not as severe. I assumed that it was because my skin was dried out before, and the Synthroid has eleveated that symptom so my skin is rejuvinating itself. I was just wondering if this has happened to anyone else or what else it would be from. Thank you so much!
Avatar f tn For the past two weeks I have been having tingling in my legs and for the past week my face and legs and feet feel incredibly tight, like I have a sunburn. This is so annoying. Do you think this decrease in my synthroid could be causing this feeling?
Avatar n tn Could nodules or goiter cause a sunburn like rash around the neck? They also found that my Vitamin D level is 8 so that concerned them and they are giving me Vitamin D 50,000 IU's each week for a month to start. Could the low level of D cause this odd type of rash? I am at my wits end because this rash seemed to come on strong before my period and leave but now it just stays all the time. We checked all my other hormones and they are normal (not near Menopause or anything)..
Avatar m tn I do take a number of supplements including Centrum, CoQ10, hyaluronic acid, fish oil, an aspirin and Lipitor. Only Lipitor has been long term and that does not appear to increase sunburn sensitivity (though rashes are possible). Is this a normal part of aging or are there other factors involved?
Avatar n tn You are expericing weight weight which is a major symptom Your husband has the typical "sunburn rash" on his chest as many get too. AND hair loss is a biggy too. Both of your TSH numbers are high which indicates hypo. ( AACE guides are now .3-3.0) Both of you are on low doses of Synthroid too. I can't comment on the natural OTC meds at all. Most are junk and could damage the gland more. You may not drop a pound with a TSH of over 1.0 even on a program.
Avatar f tn m not concerned about the little water blisters but the big blister are quite scary and keep getting bigger and bigger (one of them popped and had so much liquid in it my whole leg was drenched), also my left ankle and foot(where the biggest blister is) have become incredibly swollen and slightly discolored. It hurts like the dickens to stand or bend my legs and hurts the most after I've been laying down and go to stand up.
Avatar n tn Hi I have been experiencing extreme itchiness on both hands(on the back of my hand not the palms) and arms especially my righ arm up to half my fore -arm.it started 4 days ago and they look red and swollen .the affected area starts from above the thumb joint towards my wrists and forearms.(the fingers are spared) it has burning sensation and itches mostly during daytime(not at night). I had a much milder similar experience 3 years ago after walking on the beach for 2 hours.
Avatar m tn So I went to the beach 4 days ago, and I got a sunburn only on my back, and it hasnt even been that bad and it hasnt even bothered me until last night, and now it feels like I am being stabbed randomly with needles all over my back. Its complete random and it will not stop.
Avatar n tn It does not occur anywhere except the area of my chest that is normally seen through a neckline opening and across my nose and a little bit of my cheeks. I am 50 years old but still have oily skin. Any suggestions?
Avatar m tn It can be normal for a sunburn to swell if it's bad enough- but obviously you don't want to allow yourself to burn to that level regularly. Make sure to stay hydrated, use aloe and cold compresses if you are in pain. If you have a fever, experience chills, have symptoms of dehydration, or get blisters- you will want to get to your doctor or go to the emergency room.
Avatar m tn Hello, It can be due to sweat dermatitis, moisture(due to sweating or frequent washing), the abrasion caused by clothing, the pressure of sitting, chemical irritants like laundry soaps, colognes and scented toilet paper, certain food irritants, infections like STD’s and pinworms, anal abrasions and fissures and skin problems such as psoriasis, seborrhea and eczema. Apply cool compresses on the area and take bath with cool(not very cold) water.
Avatar f tn Anyways, I literally layered that stuff on my face and the next day it looked and felt so much better.

Avatar f tn I was at the pool and i got sunburn on the top part of my back and its blistering and i was out in the sun for 3 hours and my face is alittle burnts .
Avatar f tn I live in Maine and have only had a few opportunities to get our in the sun since getting pregnant and am finding seriously within 10 min I'm starting to get burnt when I've never had this issue before. I'm 36 weeks today. Wondering if just hormone change?! Or the vitamins?!
Avatar f tn I went to the lake to celebrate memorial day and I didn't realize that I was getting burned. When I got home I looked lobster red (I don't tan). Is it dangerous to get that much sun when your pregnant?
Avatar f tn Can it hurt my baby if I got badly sunburned and am in pain? And what are things to help relieve the pain?? I would do anything to make it heal quicker..
Avatar f tn It would make sense that it is a sunburn, if you were out in the sun that long and it was that hot out! So you probably got a bit of a sunburn, but that is impressive, I'll burn after an hour or two. The best thing to do is keep your sunburned skin out of the sun until it heals, which may be several days. Naturally your burned skin wants to stay cool so you could go in cool water, or apply cool water some ice if you want but a sunburn should just go away on it's own.
5059723 tn?1370474420 I went swimming yesterday and my whole front side got burned including my stomach do you think the baby will be okay? It just freaks me out.
Avatar n tn It makes a difference. Also, take ibuprofen for the pain and drink lots of orange juice and use a good lotion. You probably should habe seen a doctor. A sunburn is just as bad as any other burn. Feel better.
Avatar f tn I have had the constant sunburn feeling on my right thigh for about 5 years now due to my MS.
Avatar f tn The only thing you can do for a sunburn, and doctor suggested no pain pill, because they are not going to be as helpful as just putting washcloths in a large pan of water and keep placing them on the burn as they draw out the heat.......that is the main goal in reducing sunburn pain.....draw out the heat......if you put oils, lotions and potions.......you will be keeping in........put nothing on it right now.......aloe vera in a day or two .....
Avatar f tn It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Avatar m tn , For over the past two weeks, I have had a flat, red rash that appears like a sunburn on my face and particulary the neck. When I am in the sun or heat, it increases in itchiness and burning. A few days before the rash started, I had finished my second five-day course of 750mg Amoxicillin for dental work. Also, a few days (3 or 4) before the rash started, I had a very brief (3 seconds or so) unprotected oral sex exposure of which I was the recipient (I am male, received from female).
Avatar f tn I am 15 years old, and this is only the second time that i've ever had sunburn. I got it a little over five hours ago on my back, and it doesn't burn to the touch (yet?), but it feels like pins and needles, and it is so uncomfortable that i can't sit still for more than ten seconds. How should I treat this?
