synthroid

Avatar n tn I am on synthroid and I do not have that symptom. Curious, how long have you been on the synthroid and have they ever checked you for any auto-immune disorders?
Avatar m tn in canada i do not go in the sun, i use sunscreen very religiously still my patches are growing bigger and bigger please help
Avatar f tn I have the same symtoms..and under active thyroid. I love the sun and outdoor events, but I get soooo drained and tired. I drink plenty of water and I sleep great..dont make sence? I take Synthroid and my dr say my thyroid levels are fine. I guess I just have to pace myself?
Avatar f tn I have been on every dose of Synthroid and my TSH was 66 on 300mcg. I am now taking 5 1grain Armour Thyroid pills a day. This year I have had sun poisoning three times and have had sunscreen on. I'm super sensitive for some reason this year. I also have dark skin spots on my face. Getting annoyed. Has anyone else had these problems??
219609 tn?1210348114 I had thought as so,,Plus my endo told me to take 800 a day on vit D but I take 1000, I take all my meds like multi vitamins at noon and D before sleep,,I take my synthroid at 6am and go back to sleep,Most of the time I always get eight solid hours of sleep but my internal clock wakes me to take meds, plus there are still lots of times I wake first thing nervous, so my zanax is in order, I was at 175mcg for a while but am slowly going back down to 137mcg because my numbers are to high in the fre
Avatar f tn I cannot go in the sun, even in winter with sunblock on. My dr. wants me to quit the synthroid to see if that is what's causing it. I'm hoping it is the meds. He wants me off of it for 6-8 weeks to see if the photosensitivity goes away. Has anyone had this side effect from synthroid? Has anyone had it from Armour? I really feel woozy already after just a few days off synthroid (foggy and more fatigued). Just looking for info.
793305 tn?1493925518 I dont know the reason Juliva but it is a well known fact that Vitamin D is obtained through intestinal absorption and through sun exposure. Its role is to increase intestinal calcium absorption. I have heard so many people here are deficient in Calcium and Vitamin D and there must be some reason why. Maybe someone else has the answer to this one.
548523 tn?1216226527 I had gone to a doc last yr who switched me from levo to synthroid and reduced dose to 100mcg, however I became very lethargic and sick for a good 2 wks. I then went to an endo who then put me back on synthroid at 125. I am thinking that I may be missing something in my diet and have been thinking about taking chelated mg, tyrosine, and sun theonine (green t extract apparently to help relax) fish oil and a multi.
Avatar n tn At that time I ended up being referred to a gastroenterologist and also had an ultrasound of my liver and gallbladder. Everything checked out fine and my levels were at the high end of normal. My endo then switched me to Levoxyl, upped the dosage and I became hyperthyroid with heart palps, breathing problems, etc. Then my dosage was reduced and changed back to synthroid and I became hypo with a TSH of 28. Finally, I made my endo switch my meds to Armour Thyroid.
Avatar n tn Almost like a healing bruise. The areas are smooth, and look like the melasma I have on my face. I also take Synthroid and am on birth control (not sure if this could be related to meds?) Any idea what this could be? Do I need to see a dermatologist? Thank you very much.
Avatar n tn I have been taking 100 mg of Synthroid and 2.5 mcg of Cytomel. I also take 2000 mg of Vitamin D3. I do not feel that great, so I am sure something needs to be "tweeked." TSH 2.07 Free T4 .86 (.61-1.76) Free T3 3 (2.3 - 4.2) Vitamin D 25-Hydroxy 22.3 (32 - 100) Thank you in advance for your advice.
438513 tn?1215703374 Has anyone noticed a connection between taking Synthroid and developing eczema? My ezcema hasn't bothered me in 10-15 years, but in the three weeks since I've been on generic synthroid, it's been getting worse and worse.
168348 tn?1379357075 but the good news is my cholesterol dropped over 20 points by losing 10 lbs and also by eating healthier choices!!! But my TSH should be much more hyper and it came in at 2.4 even on higher dosing Synthroid of 75mcgs. It used to be 1.8 on the 75mcgs but now it's not anymore and this is most frustrating to say the least. So now back to the adjustment of dosing AGAIN and hope no side effects.
867582 tn?1311627397 on the flip side, the more sun there is (like near the equator), the darker the people are because they get so much sun they need more pigmentation to protect them from too much sun, and their Vitamin D production as it exists is fine, even with a natural 'tan'. The problem arises when we all live indoors and wear sunscreen 24/7 and don't get enough sun to make enough Vit D, so the docs now push taking Vit D supplements.
393419 tn?1228447393 I guess I could wake myself up in the night to take the calcium at 2am and then the synthroid at 6 and then the calcium again at 10am. Hmmmmm. . . I thought that 2 hours a night was ok. When I was in the hospital, they gave me the synth, calcium, vit. d AND breakfast at the same time. . . thanks everyone!!! p.s. that article sounds interesting.
Avatar m tn it was 32 2 yrs ago when last tested before my surgery. I, too, have hypo symptoms and thought my Synthroid was off but nope .. the TSH is 1.3 and fine. So your ? is similar to mine I start my Vit D tomorrow ... 1X week and retest in a month. They think mine is from less sun exposure since having an early melanoma removed last year now I use more sunscreen ?? All other tests were normal, ok.
Avatar m tn I have had Hypothyroidism for years and have been taking (varying dosages of) Levoxyl and/or Synthroid. Most recently at .150 mgs. A recent blood test shows that my TSH level is now at 50.4. I don't feel as horrible as I have with the TSH levels being lower, I do have a variety of the typical symptoms, but now I have this extremely uncomfortable rash that is not clearing up, even without swimming and with doubling my currant dosage, (at my Dr.
Avatar n tn Could 200 mcg in the evening on Sun. that greatly affect the tsh in the morning? I was so happy and confused about the sudden drop and then I realized the synthroid had to be the reason. In addition, I believe I''ve suffered high cortisol levels from stress for a long time and am beginning to see possibly some autoimmune effects on my organs because my kidney function is insufficient I found out this year.
Avatar f tn 100 mcg on Sat. and Sun. Had started at .150 and have slowly brought it down. I feel great. Any thoughts?
252327 tn?1250183976 He has added cytomel to my synthroid, I am taking 100mcg synthroid plus 5 of cytomel and in two weeks add another 5 of cytomel. I already feel better, no more brain fog, tiredness and seems like the extra weight in the middle is disappearing. I only weigh 125 lbs but already 6 days later I feel much more toned. I was wondering who is taking cytomel with synthroid.??
718676 tn?1255195920 My TSH came back 7.38 on December 8/08 and the doctor has me on Synthroid 75 mcg. I was feeling good for the first 2 weeks on Synthroid, then I started feeling more tired, right after ovulation. I'm thinking of maybe double doses on Wed & Sun, just to see if there is a change. Is 75 mcg too low for 7.38?
1107393 tn?1263417738 It was my understanding that the makeup of the hormone is probably the same, but generics of the same drug may use a different filler....They use binders and color and fillers to get the desired size, shape and color of pill. I'm pretty new at all of this too, so one of the more experienced folks may be able to answer this better. I started out on synthroid...then went generic....synthroid messes with me...I don't like some of the side effects...
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with severe hypothyroid almost two years ago and am currently on synthroid (125). Two months ago I began developing hives all over my body that appear either in the morning or early evening. My GP thought it would pass and told me to wait 6 weeks. At week 5, they were so bad I went to the emergency room and was prescribed steroids, which didn't help at all. Allergy tests are all negative.
Avatar n tn My husband has been taking Synthroid for five years now due to an underactive thyroid. He has always looked more like an overactive thyroid patient in that he is very thin 6'.0" @ 160 lbs. He does have prominent eyes and has been asked by many doctors if ever diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. He has been experiencing symptoms that we now see are consistant with hyperthyroidism for a couple of months. He had his level checked today and the T4 was 17, normal was said to be 6.1 - 12.2.
Avatar n tn I had been taking Synthroid 125 (5 times per week) and Synthroid 137 (2 times per week), for about 2.5 years. I had been taking methylcobalamin Vitamin B12 (4000 mcg per week), for about 1.5 years. I had not taken any Vitamin D supplements for 5 years. I had never taken any Selenium or Vitamin E supplements. In June 2017, I had some blood tests, and these were the results: FT4 = 1.53 (normal range = 0.82 - 1.77) FT3 = 3.3 (normal range = 2.0 - 4.4) TSH = 0.084 (normal range = 0.450 - 4.
Avatar n tn You are expericing weight weight which is a major symptom Your husband has the typical "sunburn rash" on his chest as many get too. AND hair loss is a biggy too. Both of your TSH numbers are high which indicates hypo. ( AACE guides are now .3-3.0) Both of you are on low doses of Synthroid too. I can't comment on the natural OTC meds at all. Most are junk and could damage the gland more. You may not drop a pound with a TSH of over 1.0 even on a program.
