Avatar n tn Hello, I´m Adriana Porto, I´m 27 and I was Dx hypothyroidism 2 weeks ago, I present a chronical muscle pain since 7 years and I start to take synthoid about a week ago. I know that the alteration of the level of calcium in my organism can produce me that pain but I want to know if it gonna desapear or Ca desorder produce a irreversible damage in my muscles? because I can´t hold on anymore with it, it´s so painfull in my muslces.
Avatar f tn I got to tell you honestly - I suffered alot - Kitty here and I had a duscussion about magnesium and I started it for bloating. Not only has it relieved my bloating issues but the joint /muscle pain and anxiety is almost gone. I was not sure if the magnesuim was the reason - I did some quick research and it is the known to resolve these issues. It was almost immediate - with in 3 to 4 days but I no longer need any meds for anxiety right now and I feel I can move again.
Avatar n tn I started taking synthroid on May 2 and was suppose to have a period around the 19th of May but never did and here it is June 9th. The strange thing is that periodically I feel like I am going to start, (symptoms that I usually get before I do) but I guess I just wish I knew if this was normal or not.
Avatar n tn I then stopped my daily dose of synthroid and the pain is getting better. I have a hard time believing that the two could be related. My research just shows that leg cramps may be a side effect but have found nothing about arm pain (and only one arm at that). I would really appreciate any advice you could give me. Thanks so much.
Avatar m tn What do I do ? Is it safe to stop synthroid for a week and see if the pain goes away? I am running out of options. Please advise.
Avatar f tn A few days ago, I began experiencing muscle aches everywhere that I cannot explain through changes in exercise or activity. Is this my body adjusting to the medication and needing more Synthroid? Blood test next Friday for synthroid increase. Prior to beginning my medication, the only hypo symptoms I had included tiredness and horrific periods.
Avatar f tn s in a row and today I am experiencing chest pain at the top of my left breast slightly to the left of my sternum. It feels almost like a pulled muscle, like a slight burning along with the pain which comes and goes but is not tender to the touch. This has happened once or twice before (over 2 years ago) but I never looked into it. Can the event of having PAC's in a row cause chest pain? I plan on switching back to Synthroid instead of the generic next refill.
Avatar f tn Hi - I have had a lot of problems with my thyroid lately and was just recently switched from Synthroid to Armour. For the past couple of weeks I have been having muscle twitching and what feels like muscle weakness. My arms and legs feel tired and rubbery. I don't know what the conversion is from Synthroid to Armour but I am pretty sure that I am not on enough.
405406 tn?1247428742 I had bad muscle pain before Cytomel. Unfortunately, my old endo didn't believe in treating FT3 levels. Too many endos only treat with Synthroid. The pain in my calves and feet is gone since starting Cytomel. My FT3 levels were already in the upper 1/3 of the range before Cytomel, but I'm on a low dose (5) and I still feel much better with it. But like Lazymoose said, post your levels.
Avatar m tn After struggling for a year with muscle pain joint pain constipation, I somehow convinced my doc to increase dose and was taking 100mcg, my tsh was 0.01 and free t3 & t4 were with in the limits. Then I stopped my birth control pill. So probs started again. I was put on 1 grain armour for 3 months, it was hell. My monrning used to to pain free and evening it used to start paining through the night. constipation was worst. Then I convinced him to increase armour to 1.
Avatar n tn I am 57 and going through menopause. I have pains in my legs(muscle aches), my right arm and right knee cap. Sometimes it so difficult to walk the stairs. Sometimes at night my arms ache and my fingers especially the right gets numb so it disturbes my sleep. I have also had tingling in my fingers and toes. I get tired very easily. I was on Crestor and my husband told me to stop taking it. I am really worried. Can you help?
Avatar n tn I had the same problem when I was switched from the generic to synthroid. I went back to the generic and the muscle pain continued. It does stop for me after about 2 weeks but then I get the muscle pain each time I have to increase my dosage. I am now taking Levoyxl 69MCG and I know after next week I will be upping the dose again. I also tried dropping the dosage but that only prolongs the process. Hope this helps.
Avatar m tn I too have the muscle aches, behind my knees and carpal tunnel and finger pain. My dose of synthroid was increased to 88 mcg from 50 beginning Jan., long story short my tsh was 3.57 with dose of 50 mcg is now 1.74 (tested last week) with higher dose. This week I am feeling better, don't want to jinx myself by saying I am feeling better, just trying to enjoy being almost pain free. I started synthroid in July 08, so that is how long to get here.
Avatar f tn I have hypothyroidism and have been experiencing muscle weakness on a nightly basis. It seems to be worse with repetitive movements, and it's only located at my shoulders, neck, and trapezius (sp?) muscles. Sometimes I feel pressure and pain at my thyroid around the same time, and it's pretty much a 24-hour pattern, beginning in the early evening. I've had an antibody test for myesthenia gravis which was negative, but I have an enlarged thymus.
Avatar f tn I am wondering would muscle relaxers or magnesium help? The pain seems to be getting worse and lasts for hours throughout the day. I am now on a liquid/ very soft food diet so I know that food stuck in the esophagus is unlikely casuing this pain. Any suggestions.
4544656 tn?1371593548 I was on compounded armour and it started out as weakness and progressed over a year to joint pain, foot pain, and arm soreness like carpel tunnel, I felt like a 90 year old I was sooo weak but labs were in normal range but the t3 was not at the top and t4 was below 50 percent rather than above. My dr changed me to synthroid and still trying to get dosage right.
Avatar f tn I had muscle twitching as well- esp while on Synthroid and before my higher Armour dose. My endo PA thought it was unrelated and most likely due to dehydration (or stress) but I didn't agree...
