Synthroid and multivitamins

Common Questions and Answers about Synthroid and multivitamins

synthroid

Avatar n tn does anyone know if iodine is in my multivitamin if this will affect my labs, synthroid dose???
1825702 tn?1317577765 Soy might prove more difficult to eliminate since it's in so many packaged products, but read labels to help you limit soy. I personally avoid soy. I eat goitrogenic foods cooked, but probably not as often as I use to. I'm still confused about what to eat myself and feel like my diet has deteriorated since my diagnosis. Like you, I also feel that my eating schedule's screwed up too.
393419 tn?1228447393 Hmm, interesting question.. My "guess" would be that you can take them together. Multivitamins have calcium, magnesium, and vitamin D all together. So logically, you can take them at the same time.
Avatar f tn For the past 2-3 days I am having difficulty breathing. I'm not having complete/satisfying breaths and often have to yawn or breath hard to have a proper one. I'm not sure what is its cause. I'm on 112 mcg synthroid (I have hypothyroidism). I also do high intensity weight lifting and take whey protein powder with water and multivitamins. Do you have any idea whats going on with me? I think its been 6 months that I had my lab work.
Avatar f tn Hi. I am hypothyroid and take to Synthroid to help the imbalance. I stared taking multivitamins and essential fatty acids about 2 weeks ago. I have started getting a few pimples, almost like hormonal pimples. This is highly unusual for me. Has anyone heard of vitamins or essential fatty acids causing this. I'm confused.
Avatar f tn On the opposite side of the coin of insufficient iodine is taking too much from iodine-containing herbs such as kelp, bladderwrack, or bugleweed can increase your risk for hypothyroidism. Many multivitamins, glandular support formulas and combination products contain these supplements. You could damage the thyroid more. You may burn it out entirely.
Avatar n tn Hi Tommy, same thing happened to me , and I had all adrenal and cortisol tests done, they are expensive.... and nothing. The only thing that really has helped, is multivitamins, it turns out that you are not getting the nutrients from food. you may be iron deficient. Also Dr. Luppo here avised me to take selenimu, 200 and it is a HUGE difference. Look I spent 3 months in bed and feeling out of energy. These took out of bed and back to work.
Avatar n tn my wife had seperate surgery a year apart for both nodes(left was cancer and right clear)..takes 112 Synthroid (down from 125) but feels very tired, anxious and has sleep problems. Blood tests show Throglobulin AB 38 & TSH 3rd Generation of 0.03..Thyroid Peroxidase AB 10. T3 & 4 within range & A1C of 6 ....she continues to feel terrible. Do you think dose suppression for cancer recurrance is worth the sacrifice in quality of life rather than more frequent testing??
Avatar n tn I have been hypothyroid for many years. I took 62.5 mg of Synthroid and 10 mcg of Cytomel with normal TSH. But, after testing low in vitamin D, and subsequently supplementing with D, my TSH increased and I began having symptoms of hypothyroidism. I might add that the vitamins were taken at opposite times of the day from the thyroid meds. My Synthroid was raised to 75 mcg and 10 mcg of Cytomel to accommodate the increasing TSH. However, I got symptoms of overstimulation.
Avatar m tn Senior (non mega) Multi without iron is what my IDS and Gastro said to take if I felt like I needed it BUT they both said that they had rather I continue to eat a balanced healthy diet and receive my V&M that way. I had a panel preformed and I wasn't deficient. Pills don't replicate nature very well.
414333 tn?1226191493 Does anyone here know if it is okay to take multivitamins while you are withdrawling from Brain Bombs(Benzos)....
Avatar f tn My doctor started me with lowest dose of Synthroid. Now am at 100mcg one year later and symptoms are mostly okay except still hard to lose weight (even though am working out and dieting), brain fog/loss of train of thought...but the worst thing is the hair breakage. It seems to have gotten worse with Synthroid. I have lost 8-10 inches of hair.
Avatar m tn I've been taking a GNC Mega Men's multivitamin for about a week and I've noticed a huge increase in my anxiety levels. My father took the same multivitamin for a few months and became mildly more anxious in that time period as well. I'm wondering if there's any correlation between taking a multivitamin and increases in anxiety... I've heard that, if anything, multivitamins are supposed to better your mood, but that's definitely not happening with me.
1475202 tn?1536270977 s time to buy some more and so I went looking at the store. I read the labels and all of them contain Manganese. A toxin very bad for patients with hepatic encephalopathy. Even the one I had been taking for the past 15 months. I think i'm okay to not take one so I figure I would try it for a couple of weeks. Might you have any suggestions if I find I do need one? I do take B-complex.
Avatar m tn i just bought a blackmores multivitamin and mineral supplement. When i eat the tablet once a day, i will start to pee green yellowish. Is it harmful if i keep continue on like that taking my supplement ?
Avatar f tn Today is my 4 day taking prenatal multivitamins. I am not pregnant but I am planning to get pregnant. I didn't have any sex in these month and my period already came for this month.
Avatar m tn I suspect is the multivitamins and fish oil causes higher liver enzymes as it stays in the liver and caused the liver to work harder? should i stop taking or continue the supplements. I do not have hep A and B and awaiting for hep c test in november.
Icecream Hi, How are you? There are many multivitamins available in the market today. And what is effective to one person may not be as effective to another. Factors to consider in choosing the best multivitamins include your age, lifestyle, side effect, and medical conditions present. Active lifestyle may require multivitamins with focus in amino acids, or if you are exposed to a lot of people or illnesses, multivitamins with focus on ascorbic acid to boost your immune system.
Avatar n tn I drink multivitamins 2x everyday early in the morning and before i sleep. Is it bad to drink twice a day multivitamins with iron? kasi i read from another comment multivitamins should be taken at least 3 times a week lang daw kasi pag tumagal bad daw sa liver.. hmmm... eh ako 2x a day so 17 capsules every week... Avatar m tn ok lang na uminum nang multivitamins+iron sa may HEPA B? plss answer.
Avatar n tn I have had oily skin and hair and acne since early childhood. I take daily multivitamins/minerals and selenium, iron, zinc, D, calcium, acidophilus, EPA/DHA, and evening primrose oil, and hair/skin formulas, not too much vitamin A. My questions are: 1) Do you think that this is related to the upper respiratory infection and/or medication change, or is there anything else that I should be looking at in terms of endocrine problems?
Avatar f tn Schedule a visit with your doctor. Describe your situation and see what he/she thinks of your multivitamins and also see if he/she could suggest different medications for your anxiety and panic that would not have these certain side effects.
Avatar f tn The skin under my eyebrow and above my upper lip has become very dry and flaky.I have never had this problem before, and none of my immediate family has any Eczema or bad skin problems.I'm not sure what to treat it with, because some creams/lotions have only irritated it and made a burning sensation.I'm not sure what to do at all.Any help?? Oh and I'm only 13 years old.
Avatar f tn I found that most multivitamins didn't have enough folic acid (most have 400mcg). When pregnant and breastfeeding you need more to help prevent neural tube defects and to keep your heart healthy. I have one that has 1000mcg and love it.
