synthroid

Avatar f tn I have a good friend who takes metformin with synthroid, but he's diabetic and needs it. He's lost a ton of weight which makes me ssoo jealous, but I'm not diabetic so it won't be good for me - besides my doctor would never prescribe it for me.
Avatar f tn Hello! I tried getting on this so many times and I could not remember my password but finally did! So I am now 19 years old. Dr.'s have me on Synthroid (100) and Metformin (2000 mg). I do not have Diabetes. I do not have periods without Metformin. Dr.'s tested me for PCOS and I do not have that as well. Still can't lose weight at all. I am 5'5, 165 lbs. I want/should be around 130 lbs. My lab results as of March 2014- T3: 3.2 (range: 2.3-4.2) T4:1.3 (range: 0.8-1.
Avatar m tn You can switch this around but avoid taking vitamins with synthroid (calcium and iron can interfer with thyroxine absorption) and metformin (can inhibit the absorption of vitamin B12).
Avatar n tn I have been taking Synthroid .075 daily for years and I feel it helps considerably. Before I started taking it I was depressed, tired, and found it hard to concentrate on my university studies. I have been gaining weight for years though despite eating properly (truthfully, as guided by a dietician). I was recently diagnosed with PCOS and (Gen) Metformin was prescribed.
Avatar f tn I read that it can affect my TSH levels, could possibly raise them higher. I am also insulin resistant now and I need to know how taking the Metformin is going to affect this as a whole.
1702722 tn?1307308558 I was on metformin 1500mg for about 8 months before I got pregnant. But my first cycle with clomid and metformin and IUI I got pregnant. The metformin made me ovulate more (3 follicles) so I think it upped the chance. I used clomid and metformin w/o IUI and had no success. I'd give the metfomin a few months before you try something new - it will start working!
Avatar n tn and I had been maintaining my weight between 55 kg, to 59 kg for the last 10 years. Its looks to me that I am losing my fat and muscles after being on metformin and asprin which I started in November 2004. I had been on Synthroid on last 18 years and lipitor (10 mg) for last 4 years. The dose of metformin is 300mg, 1 tablet 3 times a day. Synthroid is 125 (micro-mg) 1 tablet a day. I take my Synthroid early in the morning and metmorphin after meals and lipitor in the night.
Avatar n tn Here's my problem: I have Hashimoto's disease and was on synthroid. But was constantly tired, fatigued, not able to lose weight, etc. I switched doctors and they said that because levels are low, I'm producing too much TSH so they suggested I go off of synthroid. Way too much TSH could be causing my tiredness and symptoms. Also at the same time, they discovered that my insulin is on the high side of normal.
Avatar f tn Having trouble with high BS in the mornings (around 200) and also balancing not eating around Synthroid and taking Metformin with food. I am newly diagnosed with diabetes, started Metformin ER about 3 weeks ago. I had a total thyroidectomy due to cancer about 2 ½ years ago.
Avatar n tn im on metformin too, and did not have side affects at all. just the first week of sick feeling and diahreah and thats it. then again im on a low does for now, only 500mg until jan 4.

Avatar n tn Why did they put you on armour after being on synthroid for so long? I had real problems with the armour and went very hyper on it. I went back to the synthroid. I am still trying to adjust the dose after being on it for four months. I hope they started you off on a small dose of the armour.

Avatar n tn m on 150mg of synthroid per day) and gave me a pelvic us. While waiting for the results to come back, AF came on 8/13. So when I went back for my results all of my tests came back completely normal. She raised my metformin back to 1000mg per day and gave me enough clomid to last me for 3 cycles. Well I am on a 40 day cycle so AF should have came back on 9/22 and here it is 10/6 and still no AF. I have take 3 hpt's (including 1 this morning) they are all BFN's.
519935 tn?1216151210 and he switched me to Letrozole in Mar and did an IUI with it. He also put me on Metformin and Synthroid and said I have mild PCOS. Got laparoscopy done in Apr and found level 2 endometriosis. Have done all the tests from blood work to HSG and all are normal. Tested my husband too and he too is fine. I am not sure if we should try on our own without Letrozole or should go for IUI with injectables. Also, will doing intercourse every day help or every other day?
Avatar f tn Thanks for the quick responses. She has been on metformin and a low glycemic diet for a few years already but she is still fatiqued and putting on weight.. Recently her hair started to fall out. Since January she has lost a few pounds but that was with intense training and hardly eating anything which is hard for her to continue. She has been on B12 since January but she just started Vitamin D supplements.
Avatar f tn Hello, I just started taking Liothyronine 5mcg twice daily generic for cytomel on Sunday 8/2, today Monday I feel nauseated and have had a little diareha. Could it just be from the first day of taking it? Does anyone else experience nausea at first and then go away?
Avatar f tn Metformin, Synthroid and whatever you take for hypertension can all cause diarrhea (check Patient Information Leaflets). Now the question is if you can change any of them. If you're taking metformin, do it always with/after the meal, not on the empty stomach. Do this with other meds also, if not prescribed otherwise. Try to identify foods that aggravate diarrhea.
Avatar f tn I have been sick with a cold/flu for three weeks. Two days ago, I developed diarrhea. It seemed to occur immediately after eating. Today, the diarrhea was bright yellow and I passed something the size of a small grape (also yellow in color). I'm currently on synthroid (for hypothyroidism), effexor (for depression), and metformin & byetta (for insulin resistence). I've been on the Byetta for nearly a month, but have not suffered any side effects to date.
