synthroid and iron pills

i decided to take iron at night because i take other meds during the day. and i dont want to NOT get the full effect from them. besides synthroid i take celexa, prevacid, and bystolic. i take them over the course of the day. and sometimes i take allergy meds and antibiotics. anyway that is why i take the iron at night. and its starting to work just a bit, i have a little more energy.

I have anemia and control it by taking iron pills at night. DO NOT TAKE IT WITH YOUR THYROID MEDICATION. I take a multivitamin and an iron pill at night. I take thyroid med in the morning before breakfast. There needs to be at least four hours in between or the vitamins and iron will block thryoid absorption. I hope your fatigue ends soon--I've had it--I sympathize. Hope you feel better soon.

Just found out I am pregnant I'm so happy so far u haven't had any morning sickness. I don't know how far along am I . I need to schedule an appointment with a midwife but I also have hypothyroidism I'm on synthroid my doctor said it's ok to take my prenatals and synthroid together but I read online that it will interfere with the absorption of iron .. also will my thyroid disorder even if treated cause a miscarriage?

I am looking for foods that will behave with my stomach that is low fat and no or low iron for my gallbladder and low iron. I cannot do acidic. I will ask my doctor about the Ferritin and a full iron test panel. That is really a good idea. I will start my 100mc of thyroid tomorrow. I will continue to take my vitamin D3. I am experiencing hair loss and thinning. Could T4/T3 help me? Is Levoxyl the same as Synthroid? Is there really anything that can help hair to grow back? I am an 80 year old woman, in excellent health aside from the loss of T4.

Has she had iron tests done? That could also explain the hair loss and fatigue if she's low on iron. PCOS can also be the cause of some of her symptoms, and you said she's on metaformin- How have her blood sugars been doing? For clarification, were those tests taken *after* being on the generic synthroid, or before?

I was, originally, started out on Synthroid and didn't do well on it, but I really believe that had as much (or more) to do with the prescribing doctor as it had to do with the medication. Once I began going to my endo, I was switched over to generic levothyroxine for cost effectiveness. I did fine on levo, but when Tirosint came on the market, I chose to try it (and pay the extra cost), since I do have known absorption issues.

I was perscribed iron pills BC my iron is low I'm having a boy and I had the same problem with my first boy where my iron was low never had it with my daughter but my question is on the pill bottle it says take every morning with breakfast and I'm not up Til 12 can I take it any time of day BC I feel tired and everything and I haven't taken any of the pills yet ?

I had to have iron tablets and they made me so poorly and they turned my poo green (vile i know). I just stopped taking them and told my midwife that i wasnt taking them because they made me so ill and she was fine with it...She said they can make you sick. Different effects on different people. Just stop taking them hun. If your as sick as i was then i know what your going through and its flippin vile.

So my doctor tells me I am not anemic but my iron levels were a little low last time I had blood work so he put me on these iron pills. I take one, and fifteen minutes later I have this massive headache that I still can't get rid of and it is now the next day. Any of you have this issue?? I read online that too much iron could cause the headache, which makes me think maybe I shouldn't be taking the stuff. What do you girls think?

Has anyone had low iron in blood and their doc told them to take otc iron pills? How many mgs? Did it make u nausous? How do I deal w the nausea? How important is it to take? Are there any other alternatives to get the appropriate amount of iron?

I'm taking iron pills and they are giving me really bad constipation is there anything I can do ?

Im anemic and i have to take iron pills everyday iron helps your blood transfer oxygrn through your body and if you don't have enough you may be anemic, wich will go away after you have your baby :)

Very important. I have to take them 3 times a day because my iron is so low. It's a little harsh on the stomach but we'll worth it, it's for the well being of the baby and yourself.

I am taking my prenatals and im stillvery anemic so he wants me to start them. He didnt perscribe any he just told me to buy some but to ask the pharmacy.

Anyone else get sick when you take iron pills? I'm suppose to take 2 a day and always barf them back up...any suggestions to help keep them down?

Since then I have developed tremors, headached low urine output and a partially empty sella and now iron deposition (could this be related to the thryoid mishap). Thanks for your help.

Hi there. hm. I'm not really sure why you think iron pills help you bleed more. They are generally given by doctors to women or recommended when a woman suffers heavy bleeding during menstruation. Women lose iron during heavy bleeding and this replenishes it. Too much iron has harmful side effects and isn't recommended. So, I'm not sure who prescribed the iron. I think if you are going to see your doctor, you should discuss this.

When my mom had me they tried putting her on the iron pill but it turned out she was allergic to it. They had to give her iron shots.

that i had to take some iron 65 mg pills twice a day. Is tge Spring valley iron 65 mg good (325mg Ferrous Sulfate) Like do they work or i buy some better ones?

Is it okay to take iron pills while I'm prego? I need them since I don't eat a lot of meat.
