557907 tn?1215882569 t know about the Glucosamine but I take my Synthroid everyday with an Enzymatic Acidophilus Pearl. Been doing it for years and haven't had any issues. You can always do what I think the rest of us do.....take the rest of your vitamins with lunch and look like a drug addict at work!
Avatar n tn I was a mess and feeling very weak due to low appetite and constant stomach issues like IBS so went off Synthroid. After a year and a half in October of 2011, I got tested and my TSH was slightly elevated at 13 so I went back on Synthroid 50 afterward. Fast forward a few months and I began cutting Synthroid 50 in half and taking half everyday. I also split Toprol 25 in two until I quit that medication.
14 tn?1256158725 She said that as with Synthroid, taking the OTC cold medication could cause a reaction of heart palpitations and insomnia. This is because both products are a stimulant and using both will make the possible side effects more intense.
Avatar f tn Can the Methotrexate alter my thyroid levels? I am off Methrotrexate now and only taking 5 mg of Predisone and 175 synthroid?
532065 tn?1213149801 I have tried everything standard medicine has dished out mostly, “ Take this for the rest of your life, , lose your hair and nail strength, and pick up IBS and/or GERD on the side, or holistic, chiropractic, and natural foods, herbs, vitamins, minerals, a food diet that consists of Greek yogurt, dry crackers mostly wheat free, nut bars (only peanuts, walnuts or almonds), cheerios (on a good day) or organic brn rice or oats. Does ANYONE out there have similar experiences?
Avatar m tn Hi...have u ever been told u might have IBS?...Do u drink plenty of water and eat fiber?...... R u on meds for GERD?
Avatar n tn I, too, have found no other links between IBS and hair loss or links between the medications and hair loss but, like you, I feel like there is some connection.
Avatar n tn That lasted about4-5yrs and then I had thyroid surgery for a lump and ended up on Synthroid now with supressed levels for thy cancer (small tumors found) and guess what .. ALL MY GYN PROBLEMS are gone and not an ATivan one time for PMS anxiety and all is regular and I am fine in that dept ... looking back I was subclinical Hypo at 2.8 !!!!!! It was messing up everything. Let us know how you do ... I am not familiar with Adenomyosis .. is that swelling of the thyroid perhaps?
6905569 tn?1385957857 I was put on Synthroid for Hypothyroidism. I was ok for a few days and then the tachycardia type symptoms began, tight chest, heart pain, left arm pain, FAST heart beat, etc. It happens 1-2x a day. It got so scary I went off of it. 3 days off no symptoms & then BAM they begin again! This NEVER EVER happened BEFORE Synthroid. I am SCARED to take any other drugs for this condition. I take double doses of my klonopin now and baby bayer-just in case. Im 37 btw, I have Hep C & mild IBS -C.
20867016 tn?1551836666 I felt better on the 112 until the T4 popped into the high range and I began to get stomach problems (IBS) again.. Apparently 100 is not enough and 112 may be too high. My body has been telling me things were getting worse now that I know what hypo feels like since I went very hypo after the surgery for 2 weeks. This is why I like to get my labs myself before I see the doctor. If I had them I would have known right away he was not looking at the most recent because I keep a chart of them.
Avatar f tn After years of eating gluten, our tummies bloat and we deal with IBS. Eventually, the gluten wears down intestinal walls and seeps into the bloodstream. Our antibodies attack the gluten as a foreign invader. The poor thyroid gland is similar in molecular structure to gluten and eventually the antibodies go after it as well. Why don't most endos tell us this? They just give us Synthroid and send us on our way. Cutting gluten out of my diet has changed my life. Read my journal.

Avatar f tn If so, how long does it take the body to rid itself of Synthroid and Cytomel? Or, is that a far fetched and unnecessary step in the dance to find a fix for this? Thanks again for your replies. And, yes, I do have hypeR symptoms such as nervousness, IBS symptoms, dry hair, hair loss, anxiety. I realize some of these symptoms overlap HypO but I experience far more HypO symptoms, but the HypO are real and add to my overall sense of feeling unwell.
Avatar n tn I also have muscles and joint pain, i have been taking synthroid for last almost 2 years but things are not improving , still have muscles weakness /joint pain /headaches, my TSH level is also not in control it is keep going up/down . I like to hear stories from others as well , how long do we have to wait after reach optimum level.
Avatar n tn I have been struggling now for over 3 years to find a resolution to my thryoid problems and I am having no luck. I struggle with IBS and Lacotose intolerance as well, so my body is very sensative. Are there any suggestions?
865758 tn?1285952904 I am still suffering from fatigue, headaches, muscle and joint pain SEVERLY, tingling and numbness, lightheadeness, dry eyes and mouth, GI symptoms IBS. I have seen some imrovement with the anxiety and depression but they are still there. What do you think? Is my Free T3 too high and if it's normal and this is the most active thryoid hormone why don't I feel better?
Avatar m tn I just started levothyroxine and my digestion improved significantly. Had bouts of IBS before taking my first 50mcg four days ago. I read on the web that it seems people are still having symptoms of hypothyroidism while on medicine. Obesity, cholesterol, IBS, and so on. I am wondering if the majority of people on those meds who have no symptoms anymore just don't bother to complain on internet and maybe I am just seeing the "sore thumbs" that stick out?
634590 tn?1293774093 I often face this problem in spring season every year. I get depressed and hence IBS is trigger out. My IBS is related with depression and anxiety. What should i do. After all i have to stop all the medicine including ADs. I want to get rid off every medicine. Please help what should i do.
Avatar m tn hyperthyroidism cannot be cured it can only be treated and managed with medication. Before you go through I UI and IBS try this stuff. A friend of mine used it to her husband has low sperm count and she has issues so they both took it and they were pregnant within 6 months. Wish you the best. http://www.****.com/?
603726 tn?1223919660 In some cases, the symptoms are relieved by bowel movements.Diarrhea or constipation may predominate, or they may alternate (classified as IBS-D, IBS-C or IBS-A, respectively). IBS may begin after an infection (post-infectious, IBS-PI) or a stressful life event. Majority of IBS patients have Generalized Anxiety Disorder. Another 20% have depression, and the rest have other disorders.
Avatar n tn I have IBS with diarrhea. My family doctor gave me Vytorin and it caused ONE HORRIBLE bout with the diarrea. So, my question is: Should people with IBS not take Vytorin? If the answer is: No,they shouldn't,then why do you think this side effect is not listed on the pamphlet that comes with the drug.....or any where else?!
1448936 tn?1363206346 I too suffer ffrom both ibs and anxiety. I have noticed that my ibs does act up more when I am stressed and my anxiety is high. I am currently not on meds so I don't know if they will help the ibs. I guess it makes sense that they would being that on the meds your anxiety should be more manageable. There are certain foods that cause my ibs to act up. Try and keep a food journal and you might be able to pinpoint some of the triggers. Stress of course makes everything worse.
158939 tn?1274915197 I wish you luck and I hope all of your symptoms go away including the the IBS and GI stuff! And then I might be the next one to jump on the Armour band wagon... PS, you don't say what you had been on previous to Armour? If you've said before, I'm sorry, I was probably hypo when I read it and can't remember...
Avatar n tn I have also suffered with IBS for years and years, and have just found out that it might not be IBS afterall, but endometriosis. These docs never seem to get anything right do they? Anyway, I'd get more answers if I were you, because I knew it wasn't normal to feel so worked up and eventually found out it was due to these conditions. Hope this helps.
1215262 tn?1266402365 you should definately see a gynogologist. What would be stopping you? Most doctors would have referred you to one already, it seems odd. They can at least explain the relationg between you excessive period pain and your IBS symptom, even if it isn't a form of endometriosis. In my family endometriosis has never happened just on it's own unfortunately, it's always included weird other things. I am not sure if the two could be related with you.
