1274654 tn?1270932948 Has anyone had as hard a time with coffee and synthroid. I am on 112 mg and get hyperactive and dry mouth with coffee.
Avatar n tn I am not sure BUT many here have found that caffeine or any stimulant mixed with Synthroid type meds can cause excitablity ... I have finally gotten better with my body accepting it but it took 1.5yrs!
Avatar f tn Now today Friday- I still stayed away from all caffeine, choc, coffee, etc. But I took my synthroid (7 full days of no med) and I have felt a few palpitations and feeling not right. Could this be the Synthroid? I had ultrasound of my thyroid and blood work in October and was spot on and everything looked great. So is this the medicine, is my body saying it needs a break from this? Should I look at getting off of the med and starting at scratch?
1504101 tn?1299155264 which is ~really~ good. He also said that I will be gradually increasing the synthroid, and doing blood work for the next 6mths until I level out or until I level out..which is great. :D This is great news, and I ~so~ needed it since surgery is a week away.
Avatar f tn s Disease. I had RAI May 2010 to kill my thyroid. I am on 125mcg of synthroid daily and 50mg of toprol XL daily. I get these awful adrenaline surges and I dont know if they are panic/anxiety attacks or what. Im really not a pill taking kind of person, I dont even take a tylenol for a headache. My question is this, can you drink sleepytime tea or the sleepytime ension tamer tea while on toprol..
Avatar n tn I thought the biggest issue is calcium and now I have heard fiber may bind with the synthroid and make it either ineffective or less effective.
Avatar f tn Thank you for your response. She is on an insulin pump, synthroid, and vitamin d. Are there any weight-loss dietary guidelines for diabetics on the internet that she could access (or a recommended book) before visiting her MD, to be better prepared for her visit?
Avatar m tn HYPO: Does Caffeine and Alcohol effect the Thyroid for us Hypo's? What about T3 production (conversion from T4)? For me it's 1-2 10oz cups a day of coffee, and beer or wine on the weekends (2 glasses each day).
325224 tn?1342795914 I was recently diagnosed with Hypothyroidism and started taking 50 of the Levothyroxine a few days ago. Can anyone tell me what I can expect to feel as far as side effects of the meds working? Today is day 3 and I had caffeine for the first time on the meds and I'm shaky. Is this normal? My TSH level was at 7.5 when I had my blood tests done last.

Avatar f tn However, over the last year, I have tried to get pregnant, without success. I am taking synthroid and my T count is 1.5. I am seeing a fertility specialist. They have ran tests and I am ovulating. I do not see the discharge that I saw prior to my thyroid getting out of control over the last year. I always saw the discharge during ovulation. Is there a connection? Both my thyroid and fertility doctor, didn't see a connection. I debating of trying IUI. Any suggestions or comments?
291885 tn?1404893207 t understand is I have 7 people in my family with thyroid disease, and they take their SYnthroid and have not had the issues that I have had. Maybe synthroid is the way to go....You just don't know what to do. Have you done any research on emotions and hypothyroidism? It is very interesting and very intriguing as well?
Avatar f tn This will last for several hours and does not respond to normal OTC pain relievers. My physician thought it was tied to caffeine but it occurs sometimes without any caffeine. Any ideas on where to start? I manage central hypothyroidism with synthroid and am not diabetic.
461147 tn?1214589429 so u all know my TT was on tuesday...and before that, i was on 112 of synthroid to try and shrink the nodule, but i wasn't hypo or anyhting and my bloodtests always came back normal. so until the pathology report comes in on tuesday, my dr. said don't take any synthroid just incase i have to do RAI (fingers crossed!!!!). well yesterday i started to feel weird.
Avatar f tn said her thyroid level was abnormal and she needed to start Synthroid again. She was initially diagnosed when she was 9 and only after being admitted into the hospital for severe behavior issues where she was also diagnosed as having a mood disorder NOS.
Avatar n tn I tried trimspa some time back and it worked well with the exercising, but since the thyroid developed, I am afraid to take it. What effects would it have on me taking the trimspa? I am taking 50mgs. of synthroid.
Avatar n tn Recently (its been about 3 years that I have been on the synthroid) I began to get headaches again and after blood work the doctor said my level was a little low and he put me on 112mcg of synthroid. That helped for a couple of months but the headaches started again. I went back and they said last time my level was 0.2 and now it is 0.06. They want me to cut back on what I am taking.
Avatar n tn Hello, I have Hashimoto's, too, and have been taking synthroid for 15 years, I am 49 years old and go in annually to see and endo. doc who monitors my dosage, levels, etc. No problems at all until I started experimenting on my own with progesterone cream, to help with premenopause symptoms. 2 months after continued use of the cream, I started to get scary heart palpitations at night, combined with sleepless nights, too. I think it was the progesterone cream, my endo agreed.
Avatar f tn I skipped three periods and thought I was going through menopuase, but I felt alright other than the heat flashes and sweating. Last week my TSh levels were 0.014.My endocrinologist changed my synthroid to 150mcg, saying it was too low. I feel awful!!!!!!! From what I am researching and reading have'nt my levels been too low all along??????? I am very very concerned about all of this TSH information!!!!!!!!And even more concerned about how I am feeling since he lowered my synthroid!!!!
1877796 tn?1320527991 I saw an endoc and got a prescription filled for Armour. I've been on Synthroid since the early 90's and I never felt 100%. Also tried adding Cytomel, but that was horrible, so I decided to look into natural treatment. I've heard some people really rave about how Armour changed their lives. Can anyone here that switched from synthetic to Armour tell me how they felt, what they experienced? I just don't want to go through what I did with Cytomel.
Avatar n tn I had a total thyroidectomy in 2005 and have been taking Synthroid ever since. I have been having an awful time losing weight even though i watch not only calories, but carbs as well. My endocrinologist told me I could take anything but diet pills to help me, but never elaborated any further. Is there any certain diet that works with someone in my situation? I have rejoined the gym after having a baby last September and I walk 3-4 days a week after work. What do you suggest?

Avatar f tn Hi, I am on 50mg of Zoloft and I can't have caffeine. It is very tricky for me to avoid caffeine being that I'm not sure what has caffeine and what doesn't. Is there a list of common everyday foods and drinks that do not have caffeine in them?
