synthroid

Avatar f tn However, my blood sure isnt high so when she gave it to me my blood sugar dropped to 2.5 and my immune system crash completely. I kept on getting sick and such. Therefore, unless you really need it and the doc can prove 100% that you will benifit from it I wouldnt take it.
646105 tn?1223653476 When I reduced the dosage by a third my blood pressure reduced a bit and my blood sugar returned to normal, but I still had heart palps...after three months. They switched me Synthroid which also produces high blood pressure and a rash. We are currently attempting to wean me off Synthroid and I want to try KELP (iodine) and after a bit introduce L-tyrosine which promotes the production of T3 while the iodine is more T4 related.
Avatar m tn If you have diabetes or higher than normal blood sugar levels, you should carefully check your blood sugar levels, especially during the first few months of NIASPAN and during any change in your dose. Report any changes in your blood sugar levels to your health care professional. Hypothyroid (high TSH) has a huge effect on cholesterol levels. When your TSH gets back to normal your triglicerides should improve also. You could also ask for an A1C blood test.
Avatar f tn m fearful of developing diabetes. Is the synthroid causing my blood sugar to rise? If so, how can I keep from developing diabetes? I'm not overweight (5'2", 111 lbs) and have exercised my entire life. Thank you.
Avatar n tn I was dx with hypothyroidism in Jun 08 and am also on synthroid (currently 75 mcg). I have a problem at times with low blood sugar (weak, shaky, nauseated, etc) and I also had symptoms of some high blood sugar. I have been thinking I might have a problem with insulin resistance because of weight that I haven't been able to get rid of. I bought a glucometer and I was right - my blood sugar levels have been bouncing all over the scales with no real rhym or reason.
Avatar f tn Gluten, peanuts, artificial sweeteners, regular milk (use almond milk) (I have also found a local dairy/farm that carries fresh goats milk and cows milk, so we are giving the goats milk a try which is high in protein and tast great with no hormones or preservatives) and sugar are avoided as much as possible (fungal and blood sugar issues with these). Eat REAL food with high protein as much as possible.
Avatar n tn I got up and felt a little better and got cooled off, then it started to happen again and they called 911 and I went to the hospital. The hospital did a bunch of checks and said I was fine. Today I refuse to take synthroid. I'm too busy to be passing out in places. Has anyone else had this happen?
Avatar f tn I take 5mg Glip twice a day and still have low blood sugar 2/3 times per week. My latest A1c lab avg is 72 on meds,. The trick to losing weight, which worked well for me was low carb diet and no sugar, without exercise I lost 70 lbs,. I was to fatigued to excercise. Lot's of meat/veggies, small portions several times a day. I believe sugar consumption is why? people gain weight or cannot lose it, just my opinion. I enjoyed drinking soda, eating ice cream, apple pies, Etc....
Avatar f tn I have Hashi's/Hypo and have been taking Synthroid for 7 months. I noticed over the past few weeks that I feel absolutely terrible after I eat. I don't usually eat breakfast so I eat my lunch around 11 am. After I eat, I get dizzy, lightheaded and extremely tired. I have been putting my head down at work for about 30 minutes everyday and normally I doze off hard for at least 10 minutes. Could this have something to do with my sugar levels? I feel fine in the morning when I wake up.
Avatar n tn I was exposed to radiation and have had thryoid cancer (removed 1984), bladder and skin cancers. I was on 200 synthroid in am and 50 cytomel 2 x per day (i took only once a day as I couldnt sleep). Doc brought my thyroid meds to 25 synthroid only. My body aches, and have had sugar issues already. Is this in my head? I went to another doc to be sure and he said deal with it. a low dose isn't going to kill me but he referred to an endo. anyway.
878888 tn?1319634044 She gave me samples of Synthroid 112 mcg as she said thyroid was extremely high and ordered an a1c test as blood sugar has been slightly elevated for last six year (never high enough to be actual diabetes) was told I was insulin resistant when it first started. So nurse calls me back and tells me to keep taking synthroid and doctor strongly recommend I do the low blood sugar diet and lose weight as levels were slightly high.
929504 tn?1332585934 I have just checked the ingredients that are in "Sythroid" and the reason being is this: Since my TT, I have had higher than normal "blood sugar" levels and also higher than normal "blood pressure levels" I purchased a blood glucose unit so that i can keep track of my levels. Normally I will take my levels right after taking my Synthroid pill and my levels are always inbetween 114-130...
Avatar m tn s thyroiditis 10 years ago and take synthroid. I do not currently have TPO antibodies in my blood. I also have persistent low ferritin. I have extremely low energy, frequent blood sugar drop outs and have tried alternative medicine, supplements and dietary approaches including the autoimmune paleo diet with no success. I am very physically active and practice meditation and yoga regularly. Can you suggest other interventions.
Avatar f tn Thank you for your response. She is on an insulin pump, synthroid, and vitamin d. Are there any weight-loss dietary guidelines for diabetics on the internet that she could access (or a recommended book) before visiting her MD, to be better prepared for her visit?
Avatar n tn Synthroid is 125 (micro-mg) 1 tablet a day. I take my Synthroid early in the morning and metmorphin after meals and lipitor in the night. It looks like for the last 3-4 months my weight has come to 55kg. I think last year my weight was 59kg. So what could be the reason for my weight loss? I walk everyday, my diet is good and healthy, my times for eating meals are very much on time, I am a strict vegetarian, milk, once a week tofu are the main sources of protiens.
Avatar m tn He just recently (at 21 years old) was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism and Alopecia. The steroid shots are not helping the alopecia, and he has been put on Synthroid. I am trying to help him figure things out with the Alopecia. Doctors just keep giving him the steroid injections but after a year NOTHING has gotten better. Any information would be truly appreciated.
Avatar f tn s best to stay away from sugar, sodas, high sugar fruits, products made with refined flour, etc, as they are simple carbs, which enter your blood stream very quickly and tend to make your blood sugar spike in a very short time, then the bottom drops out again, so you have another attack. It ends up being a vicious cycle. Stick with low glycemic foods, that will allow your blood sugar levels to remain stable.
Avatar n tn I feel weak almost like I am having issues with my blood sugar. I have been tested for diabetes a couple weeks ago and I am in the good range. I am also having issues with numbness in my right foot. It is to the point where I am stumbling and I am having issues wearing my dress shoes. I am not sure if these issues are remotely related, but my health is better than it has ever been otherwise. In January, I weighed 267 pounds and as of today I weigh 216.4 pounds.
Avatar f tn At my last appointment (for blood work for blood sugar, etc.) I told him that since I have lost a little over 100 pounds in the past two years all of the other prescriptions I used to have to take (a total of 5) have been eliminated. And I really don't know if I truly still need Synthroid or not. He knows I want to get off of whatever I no longer need and he did not say "don't do it". I guess I'll just give it a try.
Avatar f tn 07, so he is lowering my levathyroxine and ordering another blood test in a month. Should I ask him about testing the T3 and T4 also? Thank you very much!
Avatar m tn These meds caused my high blood pressure and the THYROID med also gave me high blood sugar that went away after reducing the med. I am curdrently on 75 mcg of Synthroid...was on 100 mcg until last week. My blood pressure has dropped from 175/102 to 128/75 in the first few days of reduction. Amazing.
Avatar f tn I do know that when you are hypothyroid, it can cause low blood sugar issues among many other symptoms and problems. I would try the Synthroid as the doctor suggested as this can be a very serious disease when untreated. Untreated thyroid disease if bad enough can cause coma and death. Hypothyroidism will increase your anxiety as well. You might have to deal with a little uncomfortableness when first starting your meds, as your body is jump started back into action.
Avatar f tn My doctor says I am a diabetic and sugar is poison I have tested my blood sugar alot for instant I like to eat honey nut cherio in the morning I wake take synthroid 50 and blood sugar is 95 and eat cereal it goes to 140 and comes down quickly before lunch can be 85 I donot see it getting really high unless I do something crazy like subway honeywheat bread can make it185 a turkey sandwich with oil and vinegar I take nothing for the diabetes honey nut I am having a problem giving up

Fill me in. lol My ENDO's name was Rickard Schnute (pronounced SNOOTY) Like nose up in the air.. lol He retired. Avatar f tn The doctor gave me vitd125mg three time a week and 50 synthroid and skelaxin and aspirin a day. I stopped synthyroid five days ago and now I am coughing my head off with a dry cough. Doctor doing more blood work again will see me next week.

1013254 tn?1337900972 I had bloodwork this past week and my TSH level is 10. My Chlor, Trys and sugar levels are all high and can't get my sugar below 200. My endo has me on 300mcgs of Synthroid. I got the call late and wasn't able to call my doc office in time to see what I should do, if anything. I put a call into their afterhours service but didn't get a call back. It's the weekend and I'm a little concerned....any suggestions? 2008 Papillary Thyroid Cancer-Stage 4 2012 History of Pap. Thy.
Avatar f tn 2) Now, this morning at work we had some biometic screenings (for insurance purposes) and all my tests (BP, lipids, etc)came back great except blood glucose was a whopping 127! Typically its around 76 to 86 non fasting! And I eat a very low carb diet. So...my question, could I be overmidicated on Synthroid? I'm scheduled for my next blood test to check levels next week---is this a symptom of HYPERthyroidism.
