Common Questions and Answers about Symptoms of percocet withdrawal medical questions

percocet

Avatar f tn I was hoping that by taking the clonidine while I still have percocet would keep me from having as bad of a withdrawal when I run out but its making me feel pretty awful. I am really scared and dont have friends and family here and cant do the inpatient detox cuz I have pets and no one to care for them and I am just really freaking out. I just tried to take more percocet to see if it would help the symptoms and now I am sweating and feeling awful.
8265858 tn?1403378544 As you already know, it usually takes several weeks of the really nasty symptoms of acute withdrawal, followed by several months of just insomnia and general weakness and depression. A physician may be able to prescribe you some Neurontin (gabapentin) for general malaise, anxiety and muscle cramps, Requip for the restless leg syndrome and possibly something like Seroquel low dose for the insomnia.
Avatar m tn feel a bit stressed and a bit yired but working and drinking lots of water. also instead of the percocet one of the times a day I just take tylenol. so the acetaminophen my body craves is still getting without the oxycodone. thanks for the support.
Avatar m tn If you have bathroom issues get some imodium. It is really helpful for that as well as other withdrawal symptoms. It's really important to stay hydrated. You were on a fairly low amount and not for too long so I would think the worst will be over after 3 days. It may be sooner or a bit longer but hang in there. If you go back to pills, it will only get worse and so will the withdrawals. We end up having to take more for any type of relief.
1835769 tn?1318283340 Like methadone it has a very long half-life so while you will start to go through withdrawal symptoms from stopping the oxycontin and percocet within about 12 hours of stopping the drug, you will probably not start withdrawal symptoms from the BuTrans until about 24 to 36 hours after removing the patch. If you are planning to just stop taking these drugs, you can go to the Substance Abuse forum here on MedHelp and look up "the Thomas Recipe".
Avatar f tn Could it be that my body is experiencing withdrawal symptoms between pills? and if so, how can I get rid of this drug as fast as possible with the least amount of discomfort possible, while possible adding A SAFE COMBINATION of a non-narcotic-psychiatric-neurological drug (like possible an nsaid)? I would REALLY REALLY appreciate a response, the doctors aren't helping much.

Avatar f tn I've been in your situation before - when I moved from Florida to Utah, I couldn't get into a doctor soon enough and even with 8 months of pain management records, the local ER gave me 1 days worth of 30% of my dose - for care over the next month while I waited to get into a local pain management doctor, I was referred to a methadone maintaince clinic for PAIN MANAGEMENT... All thanks to the failed war on drugs.
Avatar m tn I stopped cold Turkey and it took about 24 hours to reach withdrawal stage, and by 36 hours I was in full withdrawal. My symptoms were: restlessness, headache, insomnia, loss of appetite, irritability, sweating, chills, diarrhea, muscle aches, runny nose and watery eyes. It seemed the restlessness kept me awake the most. Restless arms and legs all night.
Avatar f tn It is possible that you will have withdrawal symptoms when you quit taking Percocet. Even if it is for short period of time that you take it. Our bodies and minds have long memories. I had been clean for about a year from taking Roxicodone, when I broke my leg and had to have surgery. I had to take pain pills for a little while. I was not taking Roxicodone, but something much milder.
Avatar n tn Because saying Percocet is the only safe drug for your fetus makes no sense to me at all Percocet is still an opiate and is infact the exact same as the 30mg oxycodone you have been taking. The only difference is that the Percocet is a lower dose of oxycodone and it contains Tylenol but its the same narcotic in both meds and is no different except I would think Percocet would be worse because of the Tylenol which can be DEVESTATING to the liver.
Avatar n tn At that time she was on, 40-60 mgs a day of Percocet...and has been weaning since then. Anyway, she was doing 5 mgs of Percocet every evening for a week...and then braced herself to stop. I really wish she had talked to me because I would have told her to wait until her Summer School finals were over on Wednesday! Her doc said she would have about 48 hours of bad flu symptoms and then she would be okay. Is this accurate? Does anyone else have experience in this? Thanks!
Avatar f tn sounds like withdrawal symptoms from stopping them.
Avatar m tn t do anything for the wrist pain but was effective at killing any of the withdrawal symptoms. I am now completely out of pills and could not sleep last night. I feel like I have a mild case of the flu. I have only been on these narcotics for a couple months so I hope the withdrawal won't last a month like I've been reading in some cases. I have been drinking a lot of water and even tried energy drinks but that only made it worse.

Avatar m tn if you have a read of other posts on here you will find a lot of information and a lot of answers to your questions. it would be better if you could get a bit longer off work , im not sure if you know the symptons you will go through , such as sleeplessness, restless legs, headaches, etc, symptons do vary from person to person. i havent been much help, but i really wish you well, you can do it and it is definately worth it to be clean and drug free.
Avatar f tn that was the worst week of my life and i immediately told the dr to never give the oxys to me again. i stayed on percocet for another year sometimes 4-6 a day. near the end of the month i would have to count and figure out how much i had left to get me through the rest of the month. the problem was they weren't helping me with the pain anymore. this week i ran out and actually considered getting someone to find them for me. i decided i needed to get off the pills.
Avatar n tn I get the percocet for two weeks (which I finish within 14 days) then the oxyocodone for two weeks and replay every month. I take anywhere from 12-15 percocet a day or 120 mgs of the oxycodone. I want to stop completely asap! I have been reading up on how to go about stopping while trying to avoid withdrawal symptoms as much as possible. I have a 2 year old at home as well as a full time job that I can not afford to miss.
