Common Questions and Answers about Symptoms of pancreatitis in yorkies

pancreatitis

Avatar f tn I recently lost three yorkies in a house fire. Once we rebuilt the house, I purchased a 1 year old from a kennel. We have a dog door that she can go in and out but she comes inside to pee. She is really good about doing her pooh outside but she seriously has come in from outside to pee. What do I do? She was said to be trained to a piddle pad - but she isn't. I know the problem is that she has gone in her living space for a year but there has to be help.
Avatar f tn Sorry you are in the same boat cause this boat is slowly sinking! LOL =) I called and requested copies of my tests so I could "google" what is there since his consultation was so vague. My blood sugar is high but he said no big deal. I am not a diabetic and have never had problems with my sugar.
Avatar n tn I recently was hospitalized for acute pancreatitis. An ultrasound was done of my gallbladder and it was normal as was the CT scan of my pancreas. My doctor still thinks I have gallbladder disease and ordered a HITA scan done. I have no symptoms of gallbladder problems, but the scan from what I could see and from comments by the technician indicated almost no contraction, a large gallbladder, and from what I could see no emptying of the gallbladder.
Avatar m tn Focal pancreatitis may be acute or chronic depending on the symptoms present. Chronic pancreatitis is inflammation of the pancreas that does not heal or improve, gets worse over time, and leads to permanent damage while acute pancreatitis presents with sudden swelling and inflammation of the pancreas that resolves in a couple of weeks. It is best that you discuss your management plan with your attending physician also for proper evaluation.
Avatar f tn •Upper abdominal pain that radiates into the back. It may be aggravated by eating, especially foods high in fat. •Swollen and tender abdomen •Nausea and vomiting •Fever •Increased heart rate How Is Pancreatitis Diagnosed? To diagnose acute pancreatitis, doctors measure levels in the blood of two digestive enzymes, amylase and lipase. High levels of these two enzymes strongly suggest acute pancreatitis.
Avatar f tn If they are not spayed do you notice that the aggression occurs as a result of any of them being in season (estrus), or in the hormonally elevated times before or after estrus? This would be sexual aggression. If this is the case spaying will probably help. If they are already spayed than the problem is probably due to territorial aggression. It is important for you to monitor times when the problem occurs and try to anticipate when it will happen again.
Avatar f tn I was essentially dx due to constant slight rise in labs, along with classic symptoms of pain, and malabsorption of stools-though my scans always clear.
Avatar f tn I have 4 dogs, 3 Yorkies and a pitbull mix an the pit would always jump on me from excitement and since I first thought I was pregnant I noticed him stopped doing it and sometimes he gets super hyper and runs around the house an if he gets alil to close to me my 3 Yorkies will jump in from of him an bark at him to calm down lol it's so cute they've never done that before
Avatar m tn ve avoided all carbs and sugar on the advice of dr google, I started to suspect it could be Pancreatitis as a side effect of the hand foot mouth virus. This diet seems to help, I barely feel the pain now, it comes and goes. I have also been peeing a lot, but I've been drinking a lot of water. Not necessarily because I'm super thirsty, but when I'm not feeling well, I try to drink a lot of water.
Avatar f tn I HAVE seen what appeared to be a cloudy cataract in one eye (Of a young dog) that ended up being a severe eye infection..... Once it was treated with antibiotics for a couple of weeks, it returned to normal....So, hopefully that's what your guy is dealing with...
Avatar n tn Do you have SOD and LUQ pain? What does your doctor think about sphincterotomy of the pancreatic sphincter? Have you ever had pancreatitis?
Avatar m tn An endoscopic implantation of a stent will not cure pancreatitis to my knowledge. There are medications that can help with the symptoms of this disease. It is very painful. 3183328 tn?1351183517 One day she was vomiting and had a lot of diarrhea with blood in it, we took her to the emergency vet, she was diagnosed with pancreatitis and acute gastritis, she came home a few days later, she was very lethargic but eventually got better. She's been doing so good, but since she came home from the vet a couple weeks ago she's had a lot and I mean ALOT of vaginal discharge and it's varied in color and yesterday, she had diarrhea, and the discharge was green.
Avatar m tn Hi Kelley. I'm so sorry to hear about your little boxer. Pancreatitis is a terrible disease for dogs (and people) to endure. If your vet hasn't yet performed an ultrasound, that will be the next step. They'll need to check to see how swollen the pancreas is, if there is something like a tumor or pseudo-cyst, or even a birth defect causing the trouble. It's even possible there is something blocking the pancreatitic or common bile duct at the root of the problem.
Avatar n tn Have you been tested for Pancreatitis? I am having the same symptoms as you. Just on my right side. The pressure is unreal. It hurts at times to breath. On 10/14/08 I was diagnosed with Pancreatitis. I sleep on my right side as well. But the pain and pressure is to much I can't sleep. I stay so sick at my stomach and just to eat is a job. Best of luck to you..
Avatar f tn I have had 2 bouts of acute pancreatitis. I underwent 11 months of interferon back in 1997 for hep C. Could this be causing the pancreas problems. I have been Hep c free RNA neg after treatment.
Avatar f tn I believe there are some reports of pancreatits when using this medication, however, if you only took them a half hour before being taken to the hospital, I don't believe the med could be the cause of the issue. You may want to consider looking for other causes.
