Avatar m tn It remains at rock bottom or not even measurable BELOW range. I have done some research of the top 10 symptoms of low T in women and she has about 7 or 8 of the ten symptoms. THat being said, many of these symptoms are also parallel low Thyroid which we know she has and is being treated for. However have any other women out there been diagnosed ith Low T? If so have you been treated? what worked? How did you find a Dr to treat you? And how do you feel now?

Avatar f tn I am being treated with this with Hydrocortone but with this my testosterone levels is low as is my Free Androgen Index is also low. I am now on transdermal patch of testosterone to try to ignite my libido which has been non-exsistent for years. the dose of 300mg is not enough but my doctor does not want to up dosage. I would like to have a healthy sex life and my marriage is definitely suffering due to this. anyone got any answers to this for me?
Avatar f tn Your symptoms may be due, at least in part, from not having enough estrogen. Women also lose about 50% of their testosterone when their ovaries are removed. Unfortunately, doctors fail to divulge this important information before surgery! 1mg of estrogen taken orally is a fairly low dose for a woman without ovaries. And some women do not absorb oral estrogen very well. Has your doctor ever checked your blood level of estrogen or estradiol?
Avatar f tn My tests show I have low estrogen (also taking birth control pill), decreased cortisol in the morning and increased at night and elevated DHEA. I'm just baffled as to why I am sweating so much. Should I get treated for the estrogen or should they level out once my thyroid is fixed? I am taking natural supplements for my adrenals and might want to try HC but I have heard not so good stories about it. Are there natural adrenal meds or how should I go abouts treating it?
Avatar n tn I always thought that low estrogen is causing these symptoms. What do you think? My GP told me that my estrogen levels are still low for my age and she would increase the Estrogel, but she isn't an hormone expert, so she don't want to intrude.. Thank you!
Avatar f tn Menopause is often thought of as a time of declining estrogen, but it is actually common for women to experience surges of abnormally high estrogen levels in the menopausal years, as well as earlier in life. This misconception has led many millions of women to engage in Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) to restore lost” estrogen, hoping to address the above list of conditions. This additional estrogen may only worsen the problem and even set the stage for the development of deadly disease.
10905170 tn?1414131788 without ovaries but it is still early post-op and you may have a bit of estrogen reserves left that may explain it. Most women I know who have complained of this and do not have ovaries have endometriosis. I do know that with a cervix, you can have mini periods or spotting due to uterine tissue on the cervix but I would not expect that to cause the "cycling" symptoms.
Avatar n tn I'm guessing your're approaching a quart low of estrogen. I think "estrogen dominance" is a figment of some quack's imagination. During my peri, I listened to John Lee's advice and slathered on that P cream. I spent a miserable two years on it and then my DEXA showed more bone loss. I've been on estradiol gel since with only enough Prometrium to cause a shed. BTW.
Avatar f tn Are / were you still having symptoms of low estrogen despite having estrogen pellets inserted? Is that why you started taking maca? Or were you hoping it would improve sex drive?
Avatar f tn Hi- My doctor told me that the latest school of thought is women need estrogen replacement only. He said this actually reduces breast cancer risks and tends to make heart healthier. the estrogen-progesterone combo is now thought to increase breast cancer risks and be unhealthy for the female heart. I had my tubes and ovaries out last Thursday, and personally I plan on not taking any hormones unless I develop symptoms i can not deal with.
Avatar f tn Benign diffuse thickening is commonly seen in menopausal women. During menopause, estrogen and progesterone levels are low , these female reproductive hormones regulate the endometrium built. Focal lesions can be due many causes including polyps, and submucosal fibroid. TVS is the clinically preferred technique for evaluation of endometrial disorders and endometrial changes suggestive of carcinoma.
Avatar f tn Night sweats for example is common symptom of low estrogen (Estradiol). Other symptoms of low estrogen are similar to low thyroid include: frequent UTI., menstrual irregularity, Dry skin and brittle hair, brain fog and inability to concentrate. All of these are also consistent with low thyroid. And your very low in range FT4 level also points to low thyroid. As Gimel stated the fact that your TSH is low I would agree points to central hypothyroidism.
Avatar f tn t buy any creams or supplements that contain other ingredients for menopause like herbal equivalents of estrogen. The condition of low progesterone/normal estrogen levels is also called "estrogen dominance" so you'll be right back where you started if you use them. Avoid soy pills or soy milk, too, since soy can mimic estrogen.
Avatar f tn Yes, I was on estrogen patches when I was first diagnosed with B6 toxicity, and in fact had been slowing ramping up on the estrogen. Estrogen reportedly increases your need for B6, which seems counterintuitive, since I had more B6 toxicity with higher levels of estrogen. Perhaps estrogen causes B6 to store more readily in the muscle? I have no idea, but there IS an effect, somehow. Also, during my B6 toxicity recovery, things were always much worse before my period.
Avatar n tn I totally agree w Remar many of your symptoms point to thyroid,,its said that 1 in 10 middle age women have thyroid issues usually ist hypo
Avatar f tn Sometimes low estrogen can cause weird symptoms. Also undiagnosed autoimmune diseases can cause odd things as well, if untreated that can make pregnancy difficult to achieve. To get pregnant with number three we had to see an RE for treatment, she tested thyroid, estrogen, progesterone, autoimmune disease, etc. An RE will provide more advanced treatment than a regular ob. Since you have been trying for so long I would consult with one. Good luck.
Avatar f tn hi there thanks for the reply., Yes, the estogen is low.. Apparently diff docs look for diff levels,,, mine said 20-80 but is in line with that you said.. As I understand, at times you do want low estrogen, but I don't think you want it quite as low as mine. I dont' know if mine is a perimenopausal # or what, all I was told women my age (I am 45 have this kind of level) I think I need to talk to a diff doc who can be way more specific, I was left feeling like.. what does all this mean...
Avatar n tn s you are on are not helping decrease your symptoms... it reminds me of doctors who put menopausal women on Anti-depressants to help with symptoms... WHAT's that all about. There are better ways to tackle these problems. If you are using the BCP's for contraception, then that's another issue. But, it sounds as if your hormones are in dire need of balancing. Do some google searches such as "Bioidentical hormones and perimenopause" ...
1074733 tn?1256231619 This past summer our family doctor tried to put me on estrogen cream due to symptoms he believed are caused by low estrogen. I refused the prescription and told him I wanted a hormone panel done first. If the hormone panel came back saying I was low estrogen, then I would use the cream. My panel came back normal, with my estrogen level being close to high still. He was surprised and agreed that I did not need the estrogen.
