The last couple hours of the horrible pain, I experienced what I would almost call spasms very low down, and I've never had that before in any of the other attacks. I had waves of pain and the urge to urinate every few minutes. I passed two stones 42 hours later, and I've passed two more in the time that has passed with no pain.
My urologist is now ordering a CAT scan of my kidneys - to get a better picture of the size and location of the kidney stones, he said. A question for me is which came first - my protatitis (enlarged or inflammed prostate), with accompanying sensation or discomfort in my lower abdoment, or my kidney stones.
Finally after she was in excruciating pain a x-ray was done and they found 2 kidney stones in right kidney. They had me give her pain meds for 2 days and the dr's figured they passed. Since then had a couple days that she was in a little pain. Then today started having really bad pain again, and more bleeding in urine. We're hoping they pass this time, and we'll be done with this. We don't have a family history of these, and follow up with the dr. next week.
I passed 2 kidney stones yesterday. One in the am, one about 6 hours later. I have had 2 previous episodes. The first I went to the ER & they hooked me up to an IV drip & a catheter & I immediately passed the stone! They said it was the size of a grain of sand! I nearly passed out driving myself the one mile to the hospital. Then 1 1/2 years later I had another one. I lay on the living room floor in shock & sure I was going to die & then it too passed.
Urologist performed cystocopy (normal), ultrasound (normal with R kidney hydronephrosis), CT scan showed no hydronephrosis but two 2mm non obstructing LEFT kidney stones. I keep having symptoms of what feels like uti that subsides with drinking a lot of water. Macrobid removes all symptoms while i'm on it but they return 2 days after I stop taking them. I don't have any other symptoms, the pain I usually feel is bladder discomfort and pain in urethra, some burning and urgency.
I had a confirmed UTI in mid September. 5 days ago (Sat), I began symptoms again---extreme pain while urinating & difficulty emptying my bladder. Next day (Sun), I go to Urgent Care who takes a urine sample & says I have a UTI, gives me Cipro 500mb BID & sends me home. By Mon morning, the burning is unbearable & I see my gynecologist nurse practitioner. She swabs my vagina & takes another urine sample.

the doctor said that there is nothing wrong at all and that its not swollen, then i reminded him to look on the left side of my urethra and he said there's nothing wrong. now im beginning to think that he missed it since it is only visible when i am erected but i forgot to remind him that since i was in a awkward position. my sore is more like a lump, a fat lip to be more accurate and it is kinda smooshy to touch when i am erected, not visible when im not erect and it doesn't hurt when i touch.
As far as I know, these are the only treatments - http://www.mayoclinic.org/kidney-stones/treatment.htm "Watchful waiting About 85 percent of the time, kidney stones are small enough to pass during urination. This occurs usually within 72 hours of the start of symptoms. The best treatment for these small stones is to drink plenty of water (as much as 2 to 3 quarts per day), stay physically active and wait to pass the stone.
Cause of pelvic pain could be due to kidney stones, pelvic infections, urine infections, twisted ovarian cyst or rupture of ovarian cyst, appendicitis or any other referred pain due to other organ infections. Most of them may not show up on ultrasound. So get all these causes evaluated from a gynecologist to confirm the diagnosis. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
I have seen at least a dozen posts with kidney stones. There has to be some correlation between opiate use and kidney stones. My surgeon showed me mine on the CT scan and it's a white circle as big as a golfball. He feels it might be from chemicals but said that it's probably from my chemo. I keep thinking that he is gonna pull out a big white opiate that either says Endo or Watson on it lol. Just wondering if anyone else was told theirs was from chemicals?
check Ph (if it's lower than 6.0 it's indication of too acidic urine and potential of uric acid stones in kidney). 2) Make ultrasound of KUB (Kidney/Ureter/Bladder) for cysts and/or stones. 3) Make ultrasound of Scrotum/Prostate to detect any abnormalities (for example cysts, enlarged prostate). Put attention that every anti-biotic you have taken reduced your symptoms for a while. Therefore it could be a bacterial infection with a resistant bacteria (or worse encapsulated bacteria).
Start with the cultures during symptoms to clear up the issue of UTI vrs IC. If there is a suspicion of a stone in the ureter, a IVP or CT is the best test Good Luck.
Additionally, in individuals in whom there are persistent symptoms of UTI but nor organism detected on urinalysis or culture it is best to test for chlamydia and mycoplasma. This is because these two infections occur as intracellular parasites and need specific antigen and culture tests for their detection. The infective organisms may be located only within the prostate and/or kidney and come into the urethra during ejaculation.
Hi, The swelling in the right ureter could possibly be due to a stone and maybe you have passed just one of them and there may be others lying within the kidney. I’ll suggest consulting a urologist and getting a CT – IVU (Intravenous urography) done in which a dye is injected into the veins and its excretion is scanned with a CT and if there’s any obstruction in the ureter, it can easily be picked up. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
now today the itching has stopped but i have a slight pain that comes and goes in my back under my ribs, which im sure is probably my right kidney, the symptoms ive looked up point towards kidney stones, but i dont understand how holding my pee would cause such symptoms
I have been having serious pain/soreness after ejaculation in my urethra. It feels like it's just under the tip. It lasts 30-60 min, is slightly relieved after urination. I have no pain during urination and no extra urge to pee, however I have a very weak stream and some dribbling afterwards. If i put any pressure on my urethra with my fingers I feel a sharp pain. Sometimes pain when flexing strong erection. It feels like there is something in my urethra or the whole thing is swollen.
check Ph (if it's lower than 6.0 it's indication of too acidic urine and potential of uric acid stones in kidney). Put attention, that "normal" urinalysis may not always be normal. For example 1-4 WBC is within limits, yet it may indicate an infection. Let me know the results of Urinalysis - WBC count/RBC count and urine ph. 2) Make ultrasound of KUB (Kidney/Ureter/Bladder) for cysts and/or stones.
The girl I believe put some spermicidal nonoxynol-9 liquid on the top of the condom and or some lubricant , to supposedly avoid any risk of STD. Started experiencing discomfort in the urethra + burning sensation about 1-2 days later, no discharge of any kind. Went to see a G-Practitioner who suggested a Urine analysis to check for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea on the spot (1PM).
I am 18 years old, Male, and the sex was 2 years ago, the kidney stones 9 months ago, symptoms starting shortly after the sex I beleive.
It was found that my stone was calcium based and I was told to avoid all dairy products as well as some fruit and veg. There are 4 different types of kidney stones. Unfortunately, once you have had kidney stones the chances of getting another one are much higher.

Urethral syndrome is a primarily female syndrome in which women suffer from irritative bladder symptoms (urinary frequency, urgency, burning , and a hesitant or slowed urinary stream) in the absence of any objective urologic findings. In this the diagnosis can be made only by the proper collections of urine specimens from both the urethra and the bladder.
hi. i had kidney stones throughout the week and went in and out of hospital until they confirmed i had two stones at the last junction of my tube and 1 still in my kidney. they discharged me on the saturday and the pain had gone alot. i was only experiencing little sharp pains and what feels like lower back pain. when urinating, it sometimes felt burny and uncomfortable. but nothing overly sore. i took the tablets to relax the tube on the saturday and the sunday and never again after.
I have been reading many message boards and feel am self educated about kidney stones by my own body. Each kidney stone is unique in severity of pain. The bigger ones don't always have bigger pain. The largest I have passed was5 ml. I just dont know what to do anymore. Im tired of passing them, tired of being in pain, tired of missing work and could be in danger of loosing my job. The painkillers are great , but takes a day or so to get back into functioning mode after taking them.
a little scary to see blood like that coming out of your penis, but it seemed to have relieved symptoms. I assume it is due to kidney stones, maybe most of the time, they are subclinical, i.e. doc cannot find any obvious problem. It is worrisome to not know what is going on, however, at the very worst, I would liken the pain to a bad sore throat, but very worrisom due to the stigma std's have (everyone assumes it is an std).
After 45 minutes of this it got worse. My kidney (or it felt like it) felt like a knife that was on fire was stuck in my body, it radiating to the front, directly opposite of my left flank pain. I literally though something was coming apart in my body and that I was going to die. It suddenly stopped and I fell asleep w/exhaustion. I awoke 2 hrs later w/a dull ache but no alien trying to rip its way out of my body.
It is possible that the cystoscopy damaged a part of your urethra which has resulted in a stricture. This stricture could be the factor causing the blockage and the spraying. This needs to be evaluated to decide whether you need any intervention, such as dilatation of the stricture. You need to follow up on the culture sensitivity if there were bacteria present in your urine at the first urinalysis.
