Avatar m tn Anti-itch drugs, often antihistamine, may reduce the itch during a flare up of eczema, and the reduced scratching in turn reduces damage and irritation to the skin. For mild-moderate eczema a weak steroid may be used (e.g. hydrocortisone or desonide), whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid (e.g. clobetasol propionate, fluocinonide). Eczema can be exacerbated by dryness of the skin. Moisturizing is one of the most important self-care treatments for sufferers of eczema.
Avatar m tn I have what doctors call eczema. It started of January this year and is the first time I have ever had eczema. It came all of a sudden and covers my entire body. It is red and sometimes bumpy but sometimes smooth. Always swollen and extremely itchy everywhere. I scratch so much that it bleeds because I cant stop. my skin doesn't feel like skin anymore it feels like whats underneath the skin now because of all the scratching. its near impossible to sleep at night because of the scratching.

Avatar f tn Treatment is with glucocorticoid (a corticosteroid steroid) ointments, creams or lotions. They do not cure eczema, but are highly effective in controlling or suppressing symptoms in most cases. Since Alcortin contains anti-bacterial, anti-fungal as well as steroid medications it would be safe to use this to treat the condition with this. ref:http://en.wikipedia.

1281453 tn?1275894600 Hello, From the symptoms the possibility of eczema needs to be ruled out. Eczema is a form of chronic dermatitis (rash).Allergic reaction is one of the important causes of eczema. Apply calamine lotion and take some antihistaminics like Benadryl. If the symptoms persist then topical steroids may be needed. For this please consult a dermatologist. Also keep it well moisturized as eczema can be exacerbated by dryness of the skin.

Avatar m tn i am a 24 year old male. about 6 weeks ago, i had unprotexted sex a woman i had never met. the next day, my penis began itching profusely. about a week later, there was a bump on my penis in the spot of the itching. i'm sure it is a gential wart, as it does not hurt, itch, sting, etc, but is still there. the wart is not my main reason for concern - since the encounter, i have developed 3 to 4 small, very red bumps on my chest. they almost look like blood blisters.
Avatar m tn Sometimes, a biopsy of the skin may be taken in order to rule out other skin diseases that may be producing signs and symptoms similar to eczema. Sometimes a skin allergy test like patch test may be carried out in an attempt to identify the specific trigger of the condition. There are no specific tests to be done at home for confirming eczema. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
Avatar n tn My question is, can atopic dermatis be of the non-itchy, not dry, spreading asymmetrically variety? In this case is hydracortisone valerate (for itching and inflamation) the appropriate medication? Is this type of rash more typical of something else? Food allergy? virus? anyone out there have a similar experience?
Avatar f tn The most causes for the dry patch are Eczema and Psoriasis. Eczema is one condition where the hands get cracked. In this disorder contact with triggering factors like soaps, cosmetics, jewelry, clothing, and detergents causes symptoms. Sometimes sweat, changes in temperature and psychological stress are known to trigger these episodes. Psoriasis is an auto immune disorder that can cause dry cracked hands. Genetic and immunologic theories have been predicted as causes for psoriasis.
Avatar n tn These lump are hollow, nothing inside of them. They are more like bubbles but they are in a cluster. He had 2 clusters of about 4-6 bubbles in each cluster 2 weeks ago but now he has about 15 bubbles in one cluster, 7-9 bubbles in another cluster, and now the thrid cluster he recently got has about 4 bubbles in it. This is spreading and it's painful! Think of grapes..hollow grapes and thats what it's like!
Avatar n tn He should call the doc and be seen as soon as possible. A wound with pus and is 'horrible' needs to be evaluated. The return of itching could mean an elevated amount of bile in his body which could again lead to jaundice.
Avatar n tn there is no pus or liquid and only blood comes out if picked or scratched, only some of the bumps have hairs coming out of them and the hair not always at the center of the bumps.
Avatar m tn i have the herpes virus in my eczema, i was wondering if you could tell me what is the best things to use other than my medication ?
Avatar n tn Hi, My son has been getting exactly the same thing. The doctors are not sure what it is. I wonder if it is an allergy to bug bites. This is really driving us crazy. I'll upload a picture of it in a new post. If you fiind anything please let me know.
Avatar f tn So I’ve had a red bump on the head of my penis kind of in the middle that is very faint but other times very red, not painful, no problems urinating nor any other side effects. I’m unsure what it may be. It occurred two weeks after intercourse about 6 months ago and hasn’t gone away since. She was diagnosed with chlamidia however I have no symptoms of it would anyone know if that is possible to have without side effects nor it getting worse?
