In the past 16 days I have begun using Spiriva in addition to the 2 doses of Symbicort I was using daily. Although I get good (better) results from the combination than Symbicort alone, since starting the Spiriva, I am experiencing very dry mouth, and nasal passages to the extent that I occasionally experience light bleeding when I blow my nose.

Yes, it feels like I don't need the combivent regimen since I started the flovent. I use the combivent mainly before exercise with 02. . Long acting forms are not recommend for use by asthmatics unless they are also being used with a corticosteroid as in Advair (Symbicort and Dulera as well). Short acting forms are a form of albuterol. They last about four hours and are considered the rescue inhaler. Advair and Spiriva is a common combination of meds for COPD patients. However, you should also have a rescue inhlaer containing some form of albuterol. Combivent is another option used by many COPD patients.

ve tried symbicort, dulera, prednisone, combivent, diamox but my O2 is dangerously low when I have a bad sleep apnea night. I have resistance when I exhale. Is there a medication that can help like cromolyn or a COPD med? I tried spiriva but it didn't seem to do anything.

Since it sounds like you are sensitive to the beta agonists, it might be worth a try with Atrovent, which is a like Spiriva, but s short acting and somewhat different formula. I would speak with your physician about this medication.

Dear All, My son is three years old, sometimes he has a constant cough and I use for him 1ml combivent and 1ml pulmicort in the nublizer, these days combivent is out of stock, can i use pulmicort alone and what is the recommended dosage. Please advise.

I have been using Combivent for about a month together with Asmanex to treat my cough-variant asthma and have had pretty good results. However, the first inhalation of Combivent always triggers a major coughing spell (sometimes it's so severe I almost vomit or my ribs hurt). Are there other bronchodilators that might be easier to inhale and still be effective? Or would using a nebulizer help? I've heard there can be adverse side effects with a nebulizer.

Does anyone know if an inhaler ( I use combivent) can aggravte PACS and PVCS? I had breakfast this morning and then used my inhalers and my heart started doing some weird pvcs and pacs anyone else ever have this happen?

my chest gets heavy off and on throughout the day I take Combivent Respimat 20-100 MCG/ACT IN AERS, Levalbuterol HCL 1.25 MG/3ML IN NEBU 2X a day before Advair, Singular 10 MG PO TABS, Advair Diskus 500-50 MCG/Dose in AEPB 2X a day, Qvar 80 MCG/ACT IN AERS 2 puffs 2X a day for my severe asthma and I do get relief from the Combivent only to have the chest heaviness come back hours later.

I have had breathing tests that shows my lung capacity is 65%. I just started to take Symbicort. Could the Symbicort be raising my blood pressure, or is it all in my head? When I take my BP a couple of hours after taking Symbicort its high. m allowed to take up to 8/day of symbicort 200 on a regular basis. That is the beauty of this one. Unfortunately Symbicort doesn't come in a stronger dose,as I was informed by my specialist. The only other one that is stronger is Advair 500...but you can't up the number of puffs on that one like you can with Symbicort, so it too is self limiting. I'm working on this issue yet with my specialist. I will let you know what solution she comes up with...

I have been taking symbicort for about 8 months and in that time i notice that my weight has gone up by around 1 stone (14llbs), i have never been overweight and have always eaten healthily and taken exercise. No matther how many times i go to the gym or how much salad i eat it wont go away. None of my clothes fit me and i have gone up a bra size or two.

omg. thanks for mentioning symbicort. i started symbicort a while ago, and my throat clearing has gotten worse. my doctor has put me on nexium to dry up things, but i stopped taking it - just felt i didnt need it at the time. i may need to go back on the nexium or find out if the omnezaprole will work too.
