ve never had a reason to monitor my blood pressure, but I looked up the side-effects of Symbicort and it says changes in blood pressure can occur. There was also a warning to use caution in patients who have severe high blood pressure. As far as I can tell, there are no known interactions between Symbicort and blood pressure medicines. If you're concerned about how high your blood pressure gets after taking Symbicort, I'd talk to your doctor.

I'm curious, are you using Symbicort as both preventative and rescue? If so, how is it working for you? The reason I ask is because it's not usually used for both purposes yet in the USA. I use Symbicort as a preventative primarily, a maximum of eight times each day, but I use Xopenex for rescue.

I have been taking symbicort for about 8 months and in that time i notice that my weight has gone up by around 1 stone (14llbs), i have never been overweight and have always eaten healthily and taken exercise. No matther how many times i go to the gym or how much salad i eat it wont go away. None of my clothes fit me and i have gone up a bra size or two.

What you describe is probably being caused by the inhaled steroid (ICS) in these 2 preparations fluticasone in the Advair® and budesonide in the Symbicort®. And, it may be dose related, so that the first step would be for you and your doctor to consider reducing the strength of the ICS. You may be able to get optimum therapeutic benefit, with diminished side-effects, at the lower dose.

I recently developed some PVCs (heart palpatations), and I would really like to use a long term asthma controller in place of the symbicort that does not have increased heart rate as a side effect. I don't know what controller med you use, but after I use Symbicort at night, for some reason it makes me cough mucus up. So about 15-20 min after using it, I take a hot shower and cough it up and I feel much better. The mucus doesn't cause me breathing problems, either, but I can feel it.

Not sure if it was from the Advair I took another dose and the pain got worse. I contacted my doctor and he changed me to Symbicort. I had no problem for 3 days, but after today's dose the back pain is back. Is this typical or am I doing something wrong when inhaling. here in the uk many people get symbicort for asthma , I have been on it for around a year , and I was only diagnosed with copd a cuople of weeks ago . I found it helped me enormously, it is probably an issue of cost why they dont give it to you , as each inhaler costs around £70...

I started a new Job in October and ever since then I have had difficulty breathing and some days I lose my voice almost totally. Hi, I used to be on Qvar and Ventolin, I recently changed doctors and explained to my dr that I had been needing my ventolin up to 10 times per day, even if all I was doing was sitting on thr lounge. Oh, what sort of side effects do you get from asthma inhalers? Personally I find that they don't bother me at all. I'm currently using Symbicort 400ug x 4puffs/day along with oxeze 12ug x 3puffs/day (long acting bronchodilator). They work well in controlling my asthma symptoms. The only symptom that doesn't go away is a chronic cough due to excess lung mucous. The long lasting bronchodilator should only be used together with a steroid inhaler.
