ve never had a reason to monitor my blood pressure, but I looked up the side-effects of Symbicort and it says changes in blood pressure can occur. There was also a warning to use caution in patients who have severe high blood pressure. As far as I can tell, there are no known interactions between Symbicort and blood pressure medicines. If you're concerned about how high your blood pressure gets after taking Symbicort, I'd talk to your doctor.
Because of serious side effects I quit the use of inhaled steroids two years ago. (I am at the lower edge of stage II COPD). I substituted natural anti-inflammatories and my breathing is better for it. What had been serious bronchitis abated. I continued to use DuoNeb and Zyrtec. But the real improvement was when a respiratory therapist suggested I take nebulized Mucomyst (acetylcisteine). I have not coughed one single time since I started using it and my FEV1 has improved 20 per cent.
I have taken prednisone many other times, with no adverse side effects. I went to the doctor yesterday with the following symptomps; even though I knew that I was getting enough air, I felt that I could not get a good breath and my throat felt very tight and jaw just clenched open while I was gasping for breath. I also felt very anxious. I never experienced this before. Boy it was scary.
Hmm, really? That is so interesting! I am only on an oral contraception at this time.
So Symbicort can cause pupillary abnormalities? Is it specifically known to cause tadpole pupil, tonic pupil or pupil movement? Or all of what I am experiencing? Do you know any more about this or the mechanism by which Symbicort causes that side effect?

ive just been doing some research on singulair also and it seems like people are having alot of serious side effects including suicide. are there any drugs to help asthma that dont have these crazy side effects. i mean other than albuteral. it seems like advair is making alot of peoples asthma worse and singulair has a whole list of crazy side effects like people acting aggresive, suicide, cant sleep, nightmares, depression.
You may be able to get optimum therapeutic benefit, with diminished side-effects, at the lower dose. Along these same lines, unless your doctor is absolutely certain that you have persistent asthma, you might be able to get by without an ICS.
You should, without fail, always use a spacer with the inhaler and rinse your mouth and gargle after each treatment.
It takes care of all of my chronic asthma conditions and I use an emergency inhaler for when I have a trigger that causes an attack. Check your side effects. I know for a fact that Singulair can cause ear ache and chest infection as well as other annoying side effects because I have had them, I got off of the medication because I didn't see improvement, my friend stayed on it and loves what it does for her. My mother in law is on it and loves it.
I am in week 4 of the Olysio/Sovaldi combo therapy and am disappointed at the side effects I'm experiencing. Prior to starting the treatment I was very encouraged by what I was finding on the boards, especially after two bad experiences with interferon treatment and an allergic reaction to ribavirin. Unfortunately I am experiencing maddening itching which I'm controlling with Allegra and extreme fatigue and an all around foggy feeling.
Since I live in Iowa (low of -24 degrees the other day), it was a side effects that really bothered me. Now I am on 240 mg of Diltiazem and no side effects but it is not controlling the rapid pulse rate very well. My husband, who has A-fib, saw a mention on one of the discussion boards he reads of Beta Blockers lowering the levels of Melatonin in some patients and causing sleep disturbances.
Finally my doctor diagnosed pneumonia and put me on antibiotics, Avamys and Symbicort. Unfortunately, either the Symbicort or the Avamyst has given me a fungal infection in the throat (and beyond ... it seems to go down quite far). This was not too unexpected as Advair gives me horrible thrush that lasts for months.
My question however is, if I stop taking the Symbicort and the Avamys will the thrush go away, or should I go see my doctor to get anti-fungal stuff (i.e. Nystatin)?
A similar drug, Formoterol (Combined with the inhaled steroid, Budesonide, in the drug Symbicort) while in the same class, might not have the same properties and perhaps might not exhibit the same cardiac stimulatory effect as Serevent. You might want to discuss this with your doctor.
Another approach might be to avoid these two combination drugs, Advair and Symbicort, and substitute individual inhalert for each of the two drugs (the inhaled steroid and the beta-agonist).

I saw a cardiologist for the first time two weeks ago. He put me on Pradaxa 150 mg 2X a day.
Is there anyone on here who takes pradaxa/coumadin/other blood thinners who also has a family history of aneurysms? If so, did your doctor put you on a lower dose because of it? Aneurysms run in my family (father, grandmother, great-grandmother, cousin, uncle).
