t contain any steroids. My pulmonologist has suggested I add floridil to my albuterol nebulizer. I want to make sure neither contain any steroids and I also want to find out which rescue inhaler is safe for me to use.Thank you.

Because of serious side of effects of both Advair and an inhaled steroid that did not contain salmeterol, I now rely solely on a nebulizer and an antihistamine. I take supplements to reduce inflammation and thin mucus. I have moderate COPD and am doing fairly well, but would benefit from a longer-lasting medication. Any suggestions? m on Symbicort, two puffs morning and night, am currently on Prednisone (for the second time in three months) and am taking my Ventolin a LOT during the day on top of all that... I'm just wondering if maybe the old nebuliser would make a difference? Does anybody know about the effectiveness of nebulisers versus inhalers? I have a spacer for my inhaler which I use when it's around haha!

And also then Budesonide in my nebulizer. Nothing helped. I was having near-death experiences trying to get to the nebulizer to open up my air passages. I finally called my pharmacy to find out why I did not get my advair and it turned out that I could still get it and my price was the same as always with my medicare. After just one day I was immediately on the mend. I'm on day three and it's like night and day I am getting well.

I take dulera now and it seems better than symbicort but I heard that symbicort has been studied long term and is safe long term

I don't have pac, my mom, gradmother, and sister do though so I know what it is! I do have attackacardia (a very high, yet steady, pulse for no reason that they can find). I take Xoponex as my emergency inhaler and that really helps me and doesn't get my heart racing. It is supposed to have the medicine that does that taken out of it but my dr said it doesn't work for all people.

Hi, thanks for replying my inhalers are symbicort attrovent,ventolin I cant remember my test results as i did not understand them I recently started smoking again since I had pneumonia in January I have had bronchitus, in march plerucy and now nov have a chest infection at the moment they have given me steroids and antibiotics

It keeps me awake at night and nothing seems to help. I am on a nebulizer 3 time daily. I have tried a couple of oral medications without success. I would appreciate any thoughts on the subject.

The reality is that I have had allergic rhinitis during the whole pregnancy, I am 18 weeksand the last two days have been horrible w my breathing. So, I used my rescue nebulizer yesterday and today with albuterol. I feel much better, but curiosity intrigued me and I started Googling about the risks of not taking meds vs taking the meds and they both blow. Now, I feel like a terrible mommy but at the same time I know my angel needs my lungs to be strong...I feel like i should?

he said it was unusual i did better on the test without the inhaler..he gave me symbicort 160/4.5 and a prescription for a albuterol nebulizer.....i am really frustrated and depressed now..i feel like crying at times..i dont know whats wrong with me..i've had x rays done...i've had an ekg test done...blood tests...all came out fine....im literally sick of all this...i want to feel healthy again... i want to feel like the old me and not worry about my breath all the time...

I have asthma and mine has actually improved with pregnancy. Advice take it slow and easy. Are you on a controller inhaler? I take symbicort which helps a lot. I don't even have to use my rescue inhaler now. I take my prenatal still. If it makes you sick take it before bed.

Side effects of an inhaled steroid nearly killed me. I still use an albuteral nebulizer and antihistamines, but have added a variety of natural substances that reduce inflammation and keep my lungs from drying out. My condition has improved under the new regime. The medication that was killing me was Advair. It also caused me to suffer adrenal fatigue.

A similar drug, Formoterol (Combined with the inhaled steroid, Budesonide, in the drug Symbicort) while in the same class, might not have the same properties and perhaps might not exhibit the same cardiac stimulatory effect as Serevent. You might want to discuss this with your doctor. Another approach might be to avoid these two combination drugs, Advair and Symbicort, and substitute individual inhalert for each of the two drugs (the inhaled steroid and the beta-agonist).

Since it sounds like you are sensitive to the beta agonists, it might be worth a try with Atrovent, which is a like Spiriva, but s short acting and somewhat different formula. I would speak with your physician about this medication.

i really just want to know has anyone else out there ever continued to wheeze even while being on steroids and doing nebulizer treatments. knowledge is power! and i am trying to educate myself. can anyone help? i am taking advair 500/50, albuterol inhaler or nebulizer as needed, zyrtec- d, my allergist put me on symbicort, but it was too strong and i could not tolerate it. has anyone had any similar experiences?

I use Duoneb (similar to combivent) in a nebulizer and find it very helpful. I discontinued the use of Advair (which is basically a combination of Serevent and Flovent) because it almost killed me (choking). It also caused adrenal fatigue, was harming my eyes, and was subverting my immune system. In place of Advair I use a variety of natural anti-inflammatories and mucolytics. My health is much improved and I found that the severe bronchitis I had was in fact CAUSED by the Advair.

ve had recurring infections almost 1 a week last year- I was in the ER with an abscess on my back requiring draining. sometimes the symbicort/proventil doesn't seem to work and I don't feel normal- I have trouble breathing and low cortisol, chronic fatigue. I have had breathing tests that shows my lung capacity is 65%. I just started to take Symbicort. Could the Symbicort be raising my blood pressure, or is it all in my head? When I take my BP a couple of hours after taking Symbicort its high. My Meds are: Crestor 40mg Amlodine 5mg Synthroid .250mcg Lisinopril 40mg twice a day Zolpidem 10mg Metoprolol 50mg one & 1/2 pills twice a day Symbicort 80/4.
