symbicort

Avatar m tn I have had breathing tests that shows my lung capacity is 65%. I just started to take Symbicort. Could the Symbicort be raising my blood pressure, or is it all in my head? When I take my BP a couple of hours after taking Symbicort its high. My Meds are: Crestor 40mg Amlodine 5mg Synthroid .250mcg Lisinopril 40mg twice a day Zolpidem 10mg Metoprolol 50mg one & 1/2 pills twice a day Symbicort 80/4.
1098963 tn?1257865718 My significant other is taking Symbicort 160/4.5. I have been told that the steroid in symbicort can be transmitted into my system through any exchange of "bodily fluids" and possibly have a bad reaction with my HBP meds...is this true? thankyou!
Avatar n tn I am a diabetic on oral meds. Some months ago I started taking Symbicort inhaler for asthma. Since then my blood sugar is soaring. What can I do.
Avatar f tn hi i have severe gerd and asthma getting worse today doctor put me onzantac prilosec ventalin and symbicort the divorcesymbicort felt like it froze my lungs when inhaled since then breathing got worse and middle of back hurts is this other normal
Avatar m tn I am a 32 year old male with a somewhat mild case of asthma, and I take symbicort and albutoral as medication. I hate it. I recently developed some PVCs (heart palpatations), and I would really like to use a long term asthma controller in place of the symbicort that does not have increased heart rate as a side effect. Are there any somewhat effective asthma medications (long term controller, not rescue inhaler) that do not have increased heart rate as one of the side effects?
Avatar m tn My maintenance medication was recently changed from Symbicort 160/4.5 once a day to Asmanex HFA 200mcg due to high blood pressure and heart rate issues with the Symbicort. I'm on day 3 now and ever since I started Asmanex I've been experiencing a productive and incessant cough. The coughing is worse immediately after using the Asmanex.

Avatar f tn I started a new Job in October and ever since then I have had difficulty breathing and some days I lose my voice almost totally. I have been in and out of the Dr and now using Symbicort and taking prednisone. It is wierd this only happens during the week while I am at work. Weekends seen to be fine after a little time away. Is this Asthma or am I alergice to my workplace? Should I test the air quality?
1580703 tn?1651904887 ve been having breathing problems and chronic fatigue with asthma even after taking Symbicort and singulair regularly. I was prescribed 30mg prednisone for a week. is this high dose ok?
Avatar f tn There is another new medication called symbicort, that is what I use and I LOVE it. It takes care of all of my chronic asthma conditions and I use an emergency inhaler for when I have a trigger that causes an attack. Check your side effects. I know for a fact that Singulair can cause ear ache and chest infection as well as other annoying side effects because I have had them, I got off of the medication because I didn't see improvement, my friend stayed on it and loves what it does for her.
Avatar m tn So while they do not have the same medications, the medication groups are the same. So id Advair was helping you, Symbicort should also help you. Please discuss with your doctor. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you. The advice may not be completely correct for you as the doctor cannot examine you and does not know your complete medical history.
Avatar n tn I also take sleeping pills. I had a persistent cough that would not go away so my regular doctor prescribed Symbicort & Advair Inhalers. Ever since I am inhaling the sprays my cough has stopped. I went to the emergency room two days ago with shortness of breath and weakness and they discovered my Potassium level was too low. I know I have a lot of health issues but is this really all about asthma & allergies? or is there something else wrong with me? How do I get better?
757137 tn?1347196453 Because of serious side of effects of both Advair and an inhaled steroid that did not contain salmeterol, I now rely solely on a nebulizer and an antihistamine. I take supplements to reduce inflammation and thin mucus. I have moderate COPD and am doing fairly well, but would benefit from a longer-lasting medication. Any suggestions? Avatar f tn I just got a cold which is now exacerbating the asthma. Can I use the symbicort that I used to use when I got a cold or should I use the Asmanex that was my controller medication, or something else?
959034 tn?1253671476 m allowed to take up to 8/day of symbicort 200 on a regular basis. That is the beauty of this one. Unfortunately Symbicort doesn't come in a stronger dose,as I was informed by my specialist. The only other one that is stronger is Advair 500...but you can't up the number of puffs on that one like you can with Symbicort, so it too is self limiting. I'm working on this issue yet with my specialist. I will let you know what solution she comes up with...
Avatar f tn When I was pregnant, my asthma attacks suddenly kicked up in winter - cold dry air is always bad for me but the pregnancy was making it worse. I started to take Symbicort, it helped a bit - my OBGyn was OK with that medication, you can mention it to your doctor. Not a miracle cure though. The Albuterol inhaler (blue spray?) never worked for me and it will also get my heart racing very badly.
Avatar f tn If yes and you are using a dry powder inhaler - you may be like me and react to the lactose they use as the carrier molecule to get the medication into your lungs. Advair HFA, alvesco and any HFA inhalers are lactose free. Puli org, symbicort, any disk inhalers or rotatable ones a Have lactose in them. I did have to fight to get my doctor to believe me and switch my inhaler but proved it once I was off for a few months - improved and then did spirometry before and after taking symbicort ...
Avatar f tn This pregnancy, my asthma has flared up for weeks and has gone from moderately severe to severe. I just saw my pulmonologist for the first time today, and he prescribed me Symbicort, which is safe and I was not at all concerned about. I now have monthly appts with him to monitor my asthma throughout my pregnancy. My question is: Did an increase in severity of your asthma cause you to become high risk?
Avatar f tn I have been taking symbicort for about 8 months and in that time i notice that my weight has gone up by around 1 stone (14llbs), i have never been overweight and have always eaten healthily and taken exercise. No matther how many times i go to the gym or how much salad i eat it wont go away. None of my clothes fit me and i have gone up a bra size or two.
Avatar f tn You could be still experiencing these because you might not be taking the medication the way you should be. If I take my symbicort as prescribed for a week and then stop for a day or two I'm back at square 1. So maybe that could be an issue to why you still feel the way you do. The symbicort does help me a lot, don't know where I would be without it, it's literally my life. Another thing could be, your diet... certain things I eat trigger it.
Avatar n tn I have wet macular degeneration as well as COPD and my ophthamalogist theorizes that the weird "blisters" that are appearing at the site of the oozing veins may be caused by the steroid content of my asthma medication ( namely Spiriva). So he has asked me to change to something that doesn't contain any steroids. My pulmonologist has suggested I add floridil to my albuterol nebulizer.
Avatar f tn My PC doctor did give me the Singulair to try since I do have Asthma. He had me try Symbicort but that stuff really made me dry, and so nasty tasting. I can however use just a steroid inhaler along with the Nasonex nose spray, it seemed to work very well for me. Should I try staying with this or try Singular? I thought I read up on Singular as causing liver issues. What do you think would be the safest way to go? Or the best? I LOVE breathing better !! I will be needing most of this daily.
746512 tn?1388807580 t being well controlled. Has your Pulmonary Specialist ever recommended a Corticosteroid with an LABA? Symbicort for example includes both Pulmicort, as well as an LABA called Formoterol. Another example is Advair (Flovent/Salmeterol). I would definitely recommend seeing your Pulmonary Specialist.
1511949 tn?1290193751 omg. thanks for mentioning symbicort. i started symbicort a while ago, and my throat clearing has gotten worse. my doctor has put me on nexium to dry up things, but i stopped taking it - just felt i didnt need it at the time. i may need to go back on the nexium or find out if the omnezaprole will work too.
718416 tn?1259680550 I have recently been prescribed symbicort, but for some reason I read that corticosteroids are more widely used? Does anyone know whether long term acting beta agonists or cortisteroids are safer long term? What is safer on the heart? Also does xanax counter effect the high blood pressure etc. associated with asthma medicines?
