ve never had a reason to monitor my blood pressure, but I looked up the side-effects of Symbicort and it says changes in blood pressure can occur. There was also a warning to use caution in patients who have severe high blood pressure. As far as I can tell, there are no known interactions between Symbicort and blood pressure medicines. If you're concerned about how high your blood pressure gets after taking Symbicort, I'd talk to your doctor.
Because of serious side effects I quit the use of inhaled steroids two years ago. (I am at the lower edge of stage II COPD). I substituted natural anti-inflammatories and my breathing is better for it. What had been serious bronchitis abated. I continued to use DuoNeb and Zyrtec. But the real improvement was when a respiratory therapist suggested I take nebulized Mucomyst (acetylcisteine). I have not coughed one single time since I started using it and my FEV1 has improved 20 per cent.
I've had a really bad cough for about 6 months and my pulmonary doc gave me Advair 250/50 and Singulair.........it didn't do anything........so he called in prednisone.......10mg......and I am supposed to take 4 per day until I feel better then reduce by one pill every 3 days..........it's been 10 days now and I don't feel any better and I'm starting to worry about side effects. I don't know what to do and I can't help but wonder if I'm doing the right thing.
g montelukast, ventolin inhaler and symbicort. Xray for the sinus and chest were also ordered which resulted to bilateral nasal congestion and clear chest. The problem is, I have been experiencing symptom of dizziness. Its been a month now and I could not take it anymore. As if I am floating always. Please, could you help me with my concern?. . So Symbicort can cause pupillary abnormalities? Is it specifically known to cause tadpole pupil, tonic pupil or pupil movement? Or all of what I am experiencing? Do you know any more about this or the mechanism by which Symbicort causes that side effect?

What you describe is probably being caused by the inhaled steroid (ICS) in these 2 preparations fluticasone in the Advair® and budesonide in the Symbicort®. And, it may be dose related, so that the first step would be for you and your doctor to consider reducing the strength of the ICS. You may be able to get optimum therapeutic benefit, with diminished side-effects, at the lower dose.
I know for a fact that Singulair can cause ear ache and chest infection as well as other annoying side effects because I have had them, I got off of the medication because I didn't see improvement, my friend stayed on it and loves what it does for her. My mother in law is on it and loves it. Oh I should also mention that it also takes about 1-2 months for some long term asthma medication to take full effect so don't take it for 2 weeks and say it isn't working, give it a chance!
Another approach might be to avoid these two combination drugs, Advair and Symbicort, and substitute individual inhalert for each of the two drugs (the inhaled steroid and the beta-agonist). You could then reduce the dose of the beta agonist but, unfortunately that could not be done with a metered dose inhaler; would require the use of a nebulizer. You should also discuss this with your doctor.
I mentioned individual sensitivity to the beta-agonist class of drugs.
will be starting on champix and will be done with ciggarretes in 2 weeks but i was told if i take ventalin and smoke pot it could kill me and i currently take symbicort and ventalin (salbutamal sulphate) but i asked a nurse about if i was to smoke sum pot one day if i didnt take the ventalin all day would i be ok and she said yes but i would like a professionals information so my question is it ok for me to take symbicort and smoke on occasion?
