Motrin will give you all that pain. It's very hard on the stomach and causes reflux and gerd. Take a Prilosec and walk. Get the gas out. Gas pain can be extremely painful and stressing about it will just make it so much worse. I know this is an old post but wanted to help anyone reading.
Are you under the care of a pulmonary specialist. Also other comorbid conditions can aggravate the asthma, such sinusitis, GERD and unknown allergies. You really should be tested for allergies, if you haven't already. GERD can be silent and produce a cough as it's only symptom. If another cause can't be found then an increase in inhalers is a good idea. How many puffs/day of your Symbicort do you use? You can use safely up to 8 puffs/day.
The ENT said GERD. I have been on protonix My GI says it is not GERD. ad endoscopyseveral months afo and was negative for GERD. The pulmonologist said it was laringer spasms and a viral infection in vocal cords. Hospitalized for 3 weeks. Home on 20 days of oral steroids, flovent and nebulizer treatments. I am not feeling better.The coughng and the raspy, hoarse voice is still there and the gasping for air and choking continues but has gotten a little better.
I think I'm having symptoms of GERD, but they aren't the typical symptoms, such as "heartbutrn." I feel like I have a lump or hairball in my throat most of the time and it's a little bit hard to swallow. Sometimes my throat burns, especially after I drink orange juice or coffee. I've been having more asthma problems at night lately and I'm not sure why. I'm wondering if it's because of GERD, which I've had in the past.
About a week ago, my doctor gave me a sample of Symbicort 160/4.5 to try once in the morning and once at night. For the first 3 days on it, I needed to use my rescue inhaler only once which is a vast improvement for me. Usually I need about 4-6 puffs daily. I also greatly improved my diet a few weeks ago (no sugar, bread, coffee, fried foods, etc.). I've craved sweets my entire life and would often go on sugar binges that would make the average person sick to their stomach.
I had been spitting sputum for a good 6 months and was feeling fatigued and had pain in my hands and feet . I thought this was due to GERD because all the problems that i had before were ainly due to GERD and ignored it . I requested my gp to give me a few antibiotics as i thought i may have an infection due to cold weather . The very next day i met a pulmonologist who scheduled me for a spirometery test .
I continued taking the antibiotics and quit smoking ( 1 week antibiotics) .
Some things you may want to try at that point are different medications specifically Dulera or Symbicort instead of the Advair and adding allergy medications and nasal sprays. Allergy testing and shots may be needed as well.
Finding the cause of the cough is essential to bringing it under control.

ve never had a reason to monitor my blood pressure, but I looked up the side-effects of Symbicort and it says changes in blood pressure can occur. There was also a warning to use caution in patients who have severe high blood pressure. As far as I can tell, there are no known interactions between Symbicort and blood pressure medicines. If you're concerned about how high your blood pressure gets after taking Symbicort, I'd talk to your doctor.
will be starting on champix and will be done with ciggarretes in 2 weeks but i was told if i take ventalin and smoke pot it could kill me and i currently take symbicort and ventalin (salbutamal sulphate) but i asked a nurse about if i was to smoke sum pot one day if i didnt take the ventalin all day would i be ok and she said yes but i would like a professionals information so my question is it ok for me to take symbicort and smoke on occasion?
Visited Allergist who did allergy test(skin *****) and chest xray(normal). Allergic to cats, and mites, and ragweed. No food allergies. Family history: mother has asthma. 26 yrs in USA with no issues, other than seasonal runny nose, etc

No matther how many times i go to the gym or how much salad i eat it wont go away. None of my clothes fit me and i have gone up a bra size or two.
I started a new Job in October and ever since then I have had difficulty breathing and some days I lose my voice almost totally. I have been in and out of the Dr and now using Symbicort and taking prednisone. It is wierd this only happens during the week while I am at work. Weekends seen to be fine after a little time away. Is this Asthma or am I alergice to my workplace? Should I test the air quality?

Endoscopy (to determine cause for GERD, i.e. Hiatal hernia, LES dysfunction, etc.) and 24hr PH or Impedance study and see if you even NEED the high dosage of Nexium.
GERD is very complicated and can indeed make Asthma worse for some patients, but you need to be checked out by a GI and then get treatment.
I heard a lot of people talk about GERD and Hiatal Hernia, saying that they both can cause shortness of breath but do they cause it on a regular basis or just after eating ?
I am doing much better than a month ago (not always feeling tired or lightheaded and the shortness of breath isn't as severe as it was the first time but is still here). When doing an ultrasound, the GI said that the stomach lining seemed a little bit inflamed.
Ear, nose, and throat specialist said to keep doing what I am doing and contact him in 2 months. I also have GERD and am currently taking Nexium since last May 2007. I also just bought an air purifier to put in the bedroom as a last hope. No one seems to be able to help. The allergy medicenes such as drixoral, etc. seem to cause a cough.
