So recently i had oral sex with my partner and like a day later I developed a cough. I've been coughing for about a week but today I noticed that my tonsils are swollen and i noticed 1 white spot on one of my tonsils. I got tonsilitus (sorry don't know how to spell that) when i was 16 and ever since then when i get sick my tonsils are the first thing to act up. They swell up and they hurt. This time they don't hurt but they are swollen.
Okay, so here's the story. For the past month I've had swollen tonsils with white pieces of mucous or whatever and they tend to break off and they're not that great tasting. I've also had horrible breath and a slight sore throat. So i go to the doctor and he tells me it's strep so he gave me an antibiotic. I've known that it's not strep and the doctor was stupid.
Thursday morning I woke up to a sore/ scratchy throat. I figured it was from sleeping with my hair a little wet and having the fan on the night before and would go away later in the day. It never went away and continued. Friday was the same thing my throat felt to itchy and irritated I would keep coughing. Friday night it felt gross to swallow my saliva. Saturday it was the same thing so I looked in my mouth and noticed my tonsils were swollen.
ve gave oral sex to my boyfriend on the weekend and now I have really swollen tonsils and they have lots of puss spots which are extremely swollen and very painful. I went to the doctors and they gave me penicillin but said if it was an infection (I think) it wouldn't work. I have been taking paracetamol for pain and ibuprofen now which has helped a lot but not sure if the swelling is going down. I looked at them again and the puss spots seem to have gotten more white, what does this mean?
i have not been tested to see if it was effective yet but i noticed i had very swollen tonsils with little holes in them..can i get tonsillitis from performing oral sex on an infected person? also i snore very loudly sometimes even when i am awake i find myself snoring..i am not overweight and in good health..i do not know how long i have had the enlarge tonsils but they cause me no pain or any other discomfort other than snoring..
ve been gargling and wiping down the tonsils. Do I need an antibiotic? My tonsils became really super swollen and painful a couple of months ago (when I was in a different but very stressful situation) but tests came back negative for mono, strep, etc. I did an antibiotic series at the time and they were still swollen but went down a few days later.
My daughter is three years old and she has had swollen tonsils for about two months now. The Dr. doesn't know why. She says that she needs her tonsils out. But all she has tried is steroids and allergy meds. Steroids brought the swelling down a little but as soon as she was done with them they went back. It worries me because she is having problems breathing at night sometimes. Some nights are worse then others. I dont know why she hasn't tried antibiotics.
I also have swollen gums. Maybe that may have something to do with it? what could this be? Should I take this seriously?
my son of 9 yrs complaint with difficulty in Swallowing , we have observed white patches on tonsils and also in the throat inner area. he is reported with fever, cold, and cough occassionally and feels anemic. he is well vaccinated . what clould be the problem, and how to diagnise it ,. is there any treatment for these symptoms??????
I know there are tons of posts on here about oral STDs but none have dissuaded my fear. I have had swollen, red tonsils with white spots off and on for the last 2 months and no other real symptoms. It started right after I performed oral sex on a new partner. Strep was negative. I took a Z Pack and the spots went away and the swelling went down considerably (though not totally) until 2 weeks ago when it re-emerged. Took 10 days Ceftin and for the first 6-7 days was looking better.
So i had strep thoat and finished taking my course of pencillin vk about a week ago, and my tonsils still havent gone down, and my lymphnodes are still swollen, admittedly i have been putting my finger in my throat to feel my tonsils and they are still pretty big, the white stuffs gone off them but they're still big. When can i expect them to go cause this is driving me nuts, also my tongue sometimes has a thin layer of whiteish colored stuff that brushes off, is this normal?

Sore throat started to go away after about 3 days of treatment. On the west coast gonorrhea is treated with cephalosporins and Doxy for chlamydia at the same time.
After the 10th day of treatment, I was noticing that the sore throat returned, and my low grade fever still persists. A white discharge is constantly seen at the back of the throat.
It has gotten bad enough now that my throat feels closed off and when you look inside my mouth you can clearly see there is not much space between tonsils and my uvula is rubbing one of them.THe tonsils appear to be slighty red but other than that they do not appear to have spots or white anything on them. I have begun having problems sleeping as a result of this. I have no health insurance, in this day and age it is too hard to get it. I want to know what the problem could be.
I had my tonsils taken out when I ws five because of constant tonsillitis I also suffered from sleep appnear but if your tonsils are swollen it may suggest that something is not right somewhere else in the body years after having my tonsils out I was told I had celiacs which affects ur small intestine not saying that it's celiacs there just might somewhere else in ur body that's not okay.
I had strep throat about 2 weeks ago and they put me on antibiotics. I got better, but now my tonsils are swollen with white pus on them. They aren't sore at all. They are just swollen again and I don't know why. If any of you know, please let me know!!!
I a 19 year old female and have noticed swollen tonsils for almost a year now. In Mid-August 2014 I had what my campus doctor told me was a viral infection, which tested negative for strep. I had a sore throat, hoarse voice, and was given nothing for it at the doctors and was told it would go down on its own.
A little over a week ago, I perfomed oral sex to a friend of mine. I just noticed white spots at the back of my throat, namely the tonsils. They aren't inflamed or swollen, just white spots. they don't hurt or anything. Could this be tonsilitis or some kind of std/sti? no pain or discomfort as of yet, I'm planning to get them check out. but for a small peace of mind for now, can anyone tell me what they might be?
swollen tonsils with white spots, with no other symptoms (no sore throat, no cold or flu symptoms, etc). Because of this I have very rarely given oral sex in the 15 years between my first and most recent time. I have never had these exact symptoms at any other time so I think it is implausible that they are coincidental with not caused by giving oral sex.
A google search came up with nothing, suggesting this is uncommon.
Hi, when I was around 12 my throat got really sore and ever since I have been able to see my tonsils. They are always large and look inflamed. I went to the doctors several times over the next 3 years and each time I was prescribed with a set of antibiotics. Not once did the antibiotics make even the slightest difference. Eventually I just stopped going since the diagnosis was always the same with no results afterwards. I am now 24 and my tonsils look exactly the same.
