So i had strep thoat and finished taking my course of pencillin vk about a week ago, and my tonsils still havent gone down, and my lymphnodes are still swollen, admittedly i have been putting my finger in my throat to feel my tonsils and they are still pretty big, the white stuffs gone off them but they're still big. When can i expect them to go cause this is driving me nuts, also my tongue sometimes has a thin layer of whiteish colored stuff that brushes off, is this normal?

But both times I drink orange juice and took a zinc pill and it was better by the end of the day. 2 years ago I took a STD test and tested positive for type 1 and 2 type herpes. He gave me some antibiotic drops, and sent me on my way. Two days later I was back in his office, with my eye swollen almost shut, my eyeball redder than I've ever seen, and what looked like a blister on the outer corner of my eyeball.

-so between april 24th and april 30th 3 lymph nodes on the left side of my neck had become swollen and were causing me pain.
So recently i had oral sex with my partner and like a day later I developed a cough. I've been coughing for about a week but today I noticed that my tonsils are swollen and i noticed 1 white spot on one of my tonsils. I got tonsilitus (sorry don't know how to spell that) when i was 16 and ever since then when i get sick my tonsils are the first thing to act up. They swell up and they hurt. Okay, so here's the story. For the past month I've had swollen tonsils with white pieces of mucous or whatever and they tend to break off and they're not that great tasting. I've also had horrible breath and a slight sore throat. So i go to the doctor and he tells me it's strep so he gave me an antibiotic. I've known that it's not strep and the doctor was stupid.
Thursday morning I woke up to a sore/ scratchy throat. I figured it was from sleeping with my hair a little wet and having the fan on the night before and would go away later in the day. It never went away and continued. Friday was the same thing my throat felt to itchy and irritated I would keep coughing. Friday night it felt gross to swallow my saliva. Saturday it was the same thing so I looked in my mouth and noticed my tonsils were swollen.
ve gave oral sex to my boyfriend on the weekend and now I have really swollen tonsils and they have lots of puss spots which are extremely swollen and very painful. I went to the doctors and they gave me penicillin but said if it was an infection (I think) it wouldn't work. I have been taking paracetamol for pain and ibuprofen now which has helped a lot but not sure if the swelling is going down. I looked at them again and the puss spots seem to have gotten more white, what does this mean?
I also have swollen gums. Maybe that may have something to do with it? what could this be? Should I take this seriously?
He also has palytes in his nose and still swollen tonsils they are sending him to and ENT specialist and an allergy specialist soon. I am just wondering what could be causing all tis sicknesses in my son. He has never seemd completely symptom free for the past 10 months and I am getting extremely worried and dont feel like the doctors are checking everything to be sure to find what the cause is. It has gotten bad enough now that my throat feels closed off and when you look inside my mouth you can clearly see there is not much space between tonsils and my uvula is rubbing one of them.THe tonsils appear to be slighty red but other than that they do not appear to have spots or white anything on them. I have begun having problems sleeping as a result of this. I have no health insurance, in this day and age it is too hard to get it. I want to know what the problem could be.
I had my tonsils taken out when I ws five because of constant tonsillitis I also suffered from sleep appnear but if your tonsils are swollen it may suggest that something is not right somewhere else in the body years after having my tonsils out I was told I had celiacs which affects ur small intestine not saying that it's celiacs there just might somewhere else in ur body that's not okay.

My daughter is three years old and she has had swollen tonsils for about two months now. The Dr. doesn't know why. She says that she needs her tonsils out. But all she has tried is steroids and allergy meds. Steroids brought the swelling down a little but as soon as she was done with them they went back. If you have no fever and the white patches are not pus or bumps I would say viral infection. Any swollen lymph nodes under the jaw? I would see your GP to check out why the headaches. Could potentially be an ear infection or allergy. It depends on the fever and is the throat sore?

I am having pain on swallowing only on the right side of my throat, just under the jaw towards the chin. My tonsils were removed 20+ years ago. I have been on an antibiotic for 4 days now for some type of bacertial infection that showed up in a nasal swab. My body temperature is 76.5F. I had a flu/H1N1 shot in Oct. or early Nov. Do I need to see someone over the weekend for treatment?
P.S. I had open heart surgery in July 2010 to replace the mitral valve.
