Now for the last 2 weeks my tongue has been swollen. At first my tongue felt sore and there was a tenderness right under my chin, but no swollen lymph node. I went to the ENT again and he prescribed a oral steroid, prednisone, which I took for a week. The soreness and the tenderness went away, but my tongue is still swollen. I can eat and drink just fine. I'm rarely drink (for the past 3 weeks, not at all) and don't smoke at all.
I stopped taking doxycycline (anti-malerial) tablet a week ago and since then my rash seemed to have calmed down. 4 days ago the rash appeared to return, small pin prick red spots appeared. I went to the doctor/hospital here in thailand and she prescribed me actnovate cream (for photosensitivty) and also xyzal antihestime's. The cream has worked well on my rash but after taking xyzal I felt dizzy and had a tight throat so i stopped taking it.
It was all in my head, I could literally feel my tongue and throat swelling! I knew in reality it wasn't though, I could still swallow, my airway was fine I was just being phobic! Just breath, look at your tongue in the mirror! More than likely if you are having an allergy you would develop other symptoms before your tongue swelled completely!
So in the past week and a half I began to get what looked like strep in the back of my throat. Swollen tonsils and little white dots accompanied by of course a sore throat. Usually when this occurs it comes with a fever this time it didn't. I then started to notice bumps on the back of my tongue followed by about 2 days of my tongue slightly swelling. I found that abnormal for having strep throat but figured it might be just a different strain.
I was having intermittent swelling under my tongue, the back of my tongue, the back of my throat/roof of my mouth and my jaw. At first it was alot of swelling and discomfort. The swelling in my tongue became very intense and I was put on a 5 day course of prednisone while beginning daily claritin and a nasal spray. I felt great on the prednisone, all of the swelling went away and I could eat again.
The fimbriated fold under my tongue is sore and swollen. It has a little whiteness at the ebd of it also. I was wondering if this is something serious or not.
my son has abdominal swelling and pain , diarrhea , swollen discolored tongue with blisters , red and sore throat , please help if you can.
My sinuses are constantly switching between swollen and open throughout the day. My throat and tongue will become very dry and feel swollen and it makes me very uncomfortable. I do not think that they are actually swollen, I do not have difficulty breathing (aside from the sinuses), I just do not have any better way to describe the feeling. I am usually fine in the morning and miserable by the end of the day.
Last night I finished my seven day antibiotic metronidazole and now that I woke up it feels hard for me to swallow and my throat feels swollen(no pain.) and it feels like a build up of mucas that cant come up or go down when i swallow..throughout the whole treatment my tongue has felt raw like Ive ate a million bags of salt and vinegar chips..anyone else experience this?im 15w5d pregnant.
Its been about three weeks now since I first started feeling symptoms and they've progressed. My tongue feels very swollen constantly and there's pain and itching at the back of it and into my throat. My tongue rubs up against my back teeth in the back causing further irritation. This is all leading to or related to nausea I've been feeling.
Is your throat sore too and do you have a fever? Any pus in the throat? But the sprained neck perhaps a pinched nerve? It sounds like an infection since your lymph nodes are swollen.
I could handle the neck pain i think if it didnt feel like my throat and my tongue didnt feel like they were swollen. Has anyone ever expierenced this before. I tried to explain this feeling to my husband but he didnt get it. The only thing that seemed to help was two 1 mg ativans and a neck rub from my brother. Am i going crazy here?
Tongue coloring is still off but not painful. Top and tip of my tongue is tingling a little still colored. 9/28 Top and tip of my tongue is tingling a little still colored. Bottom inside lip feels a little numb and maybe a bit swollen. I had four 330 miligram pills of clindamycin (sp) which I took 9/26 and 9/27 (three and then one). My question is what if anything is this? Is the timing coincidental or have I infected myself.
My daughter has swollen throat and bumps on back of tongue has had for couple of years. Problem swallowing and always sore throat?
This morning, however, I woke up and i could still feel it and I tried to just scrape it with my toothbrush but it was still there so I got a flash light and saw that I have mulitple bumps all over my tongue and on my throat. They are lighter than my normal color in my throat. On my tongue they are kind of blisterish looking. I'm just wondering how I could have gotten this? I'm pretty sure i've never had it before.
Now, the throat isn't sore, but the glands/nodes are still swollen and VERY tender to touch. I can take a couple of Advil, and the swelling and pain goes away temporarily. Okay, I've just talked myself out of cancer, b/c Advil wouldn't eliminate a tumor, even temporarily. Does anyone have a clue what can cause a sore throat, pink eye, fever, and swollen lymph glands/salivary glands?? My doc had me on a Z-pack for 5 days, and no reprieve. So, I guess it's not bacterial.
So right now, I have dry tongue (not mouth), dry throat, mild sore throat and tingling in my fingers. Could these be signs of HIV? Can it take this late to seroconvert? I never had fever, diarrhea, rash and swollen lymph nodes. I am not as anxious as before and I think it couldn't be anxiety this time. Do I need to get tested again for HIV? I apologize for the lengthy text but I just want to give you a complete picture. Thanks.
I've been studying the throat and tongue thing for a bit and have some new information. The problems with the small sores on the tongue that seem like inflamed taste buds are generally caused by fungi and sometimes sugar feeding bacteria,(it can affect your throat as well). Those sores are listed as a symptom for stomach disorders like ulcers and acid reflux, something to do with stomach acid destroying good bacteria in your throat that keep the fungi and bad bacteria in check.
I tried prodding the right base of the mouth and tongue with a cotton bud and the pain is nowhere to be found. I can only feel it when I move my tongue, but when I press the base of the tongue it does not hurt at all.
About 4 weeks ago, I had what I thought was strep throat (very sore swollen throat, a slightly swollen tongue, fever, muscle aches, headache, hoarse voice, difficulty/pain swallowing). I was given antibiotics and felt better for about a week after but now my tongue is bothering me. Also note: I never had strep, I just found out the swab was negative. Symptoms: - Swollen tongue, sometimes whole thing, sometimes feels like just the back/base part or just one side.
I have pain under my tongue where it's connected (started recently), pain/tightness - what feels like a super tight muscle knot/ball - at the back base of my jaw right below the ear, ear tube pain, ringing in my ears, more so on the right side, which also hurts more. Have a small (unmovable) lump on right side in mouth almost directly under bottom molars. Hasn't changed in size in the year since I noticed it, but a lot of the pain in my ears/throat is right around there.
I also have a yellow tongue! And i also had taken amoxicillin. I took it for a strep infection. I was taking 3 a day for 7 days. I brush my teeth everyday/night and at night i brush my tongue extra well. But every night its yellow again. Its yellow on the mid and back of my tongue. Also the glands in my neck are still swollen from when i had strep. That was over a month ago. I had taken prednisone because of the swelling and weakness, but they never went back to normal. But they dont hurt.
I am in my 60's and have only just started to have either a swollen face or, on the last two occasions, a swollen tongue, which all started in September. The first time I had a swollen tongue was 4 weeks ago and I ended up in hospital. I had already taken Piriton but it didn't help. At the hospital they gave me Prednisolone which worked very quickly and I was packed off home with another 2 days supply.
I did ask my primary care physician about it, it had ridges alongside the tongue and was swollen and also felt raw and enlarged...she didn't think it was too bad she said sometimes it will happen depending on what you eat and drink, and thought maybe due to antibiotics, I had a sinus infection, . there have been a few times where it was very painful, I rinse with warm salt water and that seems to help.
Hi, i have had a pain in my right hand side of adams apple only when i swallow for about 3 weeks. This went last week and i had no symptoms apart from 2 cankers come up on my tongue which were very sore. This morning i woke and the pain i had before has now started slightly on the left hand side of the adams apple. As i say it does not hurt unless i swallow when it feels uncomfortable. Also my glands in my neck have been swollen for about 4 weeks now. Are these signs of oral or throat cancer?
