No cough or stuffy nose but just a really bad sore throat. I just finished taking the Z-Pack last night and am starting to a feel a bit better however my throat is still somewhat scratchy. My question is that a few days ago, I believe my lip my have split due to the cold and actually developed into a bit of a sore. It was very sensitive to the touch however, it officially split about 2 days ago and is already nearly 100% healed as I have been actively putting vaseline on it.
On that Tuesday I woke up to a sore/swollen throat with post naisal drip, and my lip still tender and swollen, but not as swollen. I took some benadryl and the sore throat/ drip went away. Later in the morning I started experiencing diarrhea. Nothing horrible, but it made me decide to go to urgent care. They said it was an allergic reaction and prescribed an epipen. I declined because I have no insurance.
Since then I've seen another doctor who thinks its hsv 1.

Here are Coles symtoms: he had a high fever (102.9)for two days, sore throat and swollen glands- fever went down to low grade (99-100.9) for the next three days he also got swollen red gums, blisters on his lips, and loss of appetite- probably because his mouth hurt so much- today is day 6- no fever- gums still red and swollen (dentist said to rinse w salt water), blisters Still evident on lip and tonight right after he brushed his teeth he threw up and had diarreah.
Over the next few days that cut disappeared but my upper lip still felt a bit painful and swollen in the middle where the veins are. Yesterday the middle of my upper lip swelled a bit but today it is back to normal.
This morning I awoke to find a "pimple" under my tongue on the right side of my saliva gland at the base of my tongue. It is on the bottom / side of my tongue not the bony part of my lower mouth. The area is red and swollen and more lightly colored in the middle.
The only things that I knowingly am allergic to are lactose and chocolate, both of which cause me to purge. Only that side of my lip is swollen, my tongue and throat feel fine.
Also, if it helps, I'm a musician (woodwinds and strings), and I haven't come into contact with any unusual instruments. I've only played my flute, clarinets and violin this weekend.

m back again...My troubles began with a sore throat. It happened out of the blue. The sore throat became more and more prominent but within hours took a backseat to fever. My throat has been sore for the past 4days. My body feels really weak and tired. Tonsils are swollen and painful and I have difficulty in swallowing food or drinking water. She told me she does not have a history of getting cold sore and neither do I, which is very strange that out of the blue this turns up.

Hi there. About a year ago, my (now ex-) girlfriend performed oral sex on me a couple times with a cold sore on her upper lip. I have recently been in anew relationship, we got tested and everything was negative but I didn't have a herpes screening. I never had a herpes outbreak (that I know of, I've heard HSV-1 genitally can be mild) but I did get a flu-like sickness a couple weeks later (headache, one swollen lymph node in neck, sore throat).

then this past friday i had a bump center of lip outside which dentist said it was from trama from biting my lip so i go home happy and by 5pm yesterday i have another sore throat swollen gland. I spoke to the other person he said he is ddf but i am losing my mind afraid more if i affected my gf . i always thought oral was safe other wise i would never have done it or tried. all to satisfy a stupid curosity..thanks any info would help..
