At first it happened once every few days but now everymorning I wake up with a swollen lip and it being numb in the area. Feels like the novacaine used by dentists. Its always a specic region of the lip, usually the right or left side. Either upper or lower lip. There is no itching, burning, or pus in the area. Only swollen lip that is numb. I have now notices the lower side of my face getting swollen accomponied with the side of of lip.
I just want to add that I can find no puncture from any bite. The bump is no longer whitish and is still raised. My bottom lip is still numb but now if I press on the bump, I feel a pain deep under. I'm worried. Please help.
Now I continue to suffer from upper left lip problems. My lip in that area becomes numb, then progresses to a tingling, dry, burning feeling and the skin peels. These symptoms subside for a couple days and then I go through this painful, annoying, and embarrassing problem again. What could it be?
Note: I do not have sores, the skin in that area of my lip looks really irritated and red and at time seems just a bit raised or swollen.
For about 3 months my lips have been flakey around the outer edges into the corners. It's only my upper lip that seems to have the problem. It is sometimes numb, especially in the mornings. It is very dry, like no moisture is getting to it. I keep it caked with moisturizer, like carmex, but it only helps temporarily. The upper lip is also swollen at times. My husband can see that there's a problem, but only when I get right in his face. HELP!!
I had the same problem a few times last spring and summer and now it seems to be the same thing. My top lip would get swollen either on one side or the entire lip at night. It would usually be back to almost normal by afternoon the next day. It started out slowly with just minor tingling sometimes, then progressing into a lot of swelling and taking longer and longer to go down with each time it occurred. Occurrences also go more and more frequent.
Well Fri night the right side of my lip, under my chin, and half my cheek went numb, and just throbbing pain, so I call the endo sat morning, he sounded a lil panicked by the situation, he called me in a heavy antibiotic (150 mg Clindamycin) and a higher dose of vicodin (7.5-750mg) which IS NOT taking the pain away, my face is still swollen and numb, and still hurting. Has anyone else gone through this, or know what the hell is going on?
t notice at the time was that the side of my face that got hit was numb at some parts. I can not really feel the right half of my lips and some of the teeth there (when brushing). My cheeks seem okay, a little numb too.
I also have a black eye now (the blood has pooled I guess).
Should I go back to the emergency room or will the numbness in my face go away in a few days?

Hello! I know it's gross but over the past 24hrs I've developed a really nasty cold sore on my bottom lip.. I haven't had one for about 7 years but use to get them so bad in primary school my Mum had to pull me out of class for 3wks once. On top of that when I woke this morning I figured out the glands in my neck are swollen and I've got a terrible headache.. Im 17weeks pregnant. Has anyone else experienced this?
My nephews party was on Friday and he was swinging a bat blindfolded for piñata and I went to go grab my phone that fell to the floor and got hit in the eye with the bat as he was swinging. I woke up the next day with a black swollen eye and it didn’t look so bad. Just swollen. It is now almost three days later and my nose is numb. Only the nostril and my top teeth on the left side and my lip. It feels like I got shot with novacaine.

I woke up yesterday morning with the left half of my lower lip numb. I figured I must have hit my mouth on something the night before after drinking heavily. Day 3: My tongue was still a little swollen/numb. I could say that I played / moved a lot my tongue during that day.
Day 4: I woke up in the morning and my tongue didn't feel swollen/numb anymore. However, I had pain at the base of my lingual frenulum.
