During a lupus flare my baby head-butted me in the lip and soon after I got a sore. The sore healed in a few days but by that night a rash started to appear near to in side of my bottom lip where my lips touch. As the bottom lip healed the rash moved to my top lip where my lips meet. For over 2 weeks the rash has been bouncing all over my lip, healing and popping back up. I saw 2 doctors that don't think it's a cold sore and I even got a negative blood test for the antibodies.
I'm 45, my top lip gets dry for a few days then a tiny bump shows up, then my lip swells pretty big, for a few days mostly at night. swelling subsides a little during the day has a tingling in it after several days my lip cracks and drains this happens a few times a year. All together from beginning to end it lasts about 2 weeks.

the morning after my exposure i felt a tingling on that spot of my lip. i was already HSV1 positive. could my lip been an infection with HSV-2?is it possible to have both?does HSV-2 onset have these similar symptoms to these?i ask is because my symptoms seem MUCH more mild than most of what i have read for hiv. i did not have a rash, no sores, no sore throat. maybe a mild cough. about 4 or 5 months later i got 1 or 2 dime sized psoriasis patches in new places.
The other day my bottom lip was tingling on the right side, but i didn't think anything of it because i had a pimple coming up just below my lip so i thought that was it. The next day the right side of my bottom lip was swollen and was bigger by night time. The next day, today, it is very swollen. I ruled out the pimple because it is just about gone now,but the swollen lip remains. I've never had a problem like this before. Why is this happening?
t think its contagious) But today after coming home from class I looked in the mirror and the bump/ sore thing on the corner of my bottom lip looked sorta bumpy and swollen. I applied hydrogen peroxide and it turned the sore/ bump thing white! It looked gross Then I applied rubbing alcohol to it and cleaned it out. (it sorta started bleeding a little but this probably came from me scrubbing it so hard) then I applied so carmex and blistex and am now waiting to see whats gonna happen.
Frankly, it doesn't sound much like herpes to me. It sounds more like an allergy or autoimmune type of reaction, maybe not lupus if you insist it isn't, but something like it. My aunt got lupus flare-ups if she was in the sun a lot, and it took a whole lot of detective work to diagnose her in the first place because the lupus wasn't typical.
Your ob/gyn looked right at the redness and swelling and didn't think you had a problem?
Recently I have not been as bad, but like a week ago I woke up to a right side swollen jaw, it did not hurt but it was bothersome, it went away that same day. Two days later I woke up to a swollen top lip, it did not hurt, but it bothered me more than the jaw. I do not know what I am going through, but I'm asking badly for some info. and help. I don't think there allergies. So if you think you can help or just have an opinion please let me know. Thank You.
Soon thereafter, my ears began to occasionally itch, become swollen, and very red. They were also scaly and flaky. This would last for a few days-to a week, then the swelling and intense itchiness would subside, and I would just be left with very, very scaly ears.

One is to the lowerleft of my bottom lip and the other is in the smack dab middle of my upper lip. It appeared overnight with NO OTHER SYMPTOMS. My only guess is that there is a large pimple on my chin and two small pimples on my upper lip. I tried and failed to pop all three but the swelleing is right next to them. I also feel pressure from the pimples to the swelling. Two questions. 1) whats wrong with me? 2) how do i get this swelling down?
Hey my name is Molly and im 16, Last night i had Cattage pie and Green beans together and after i ate my top Lip had swollen up and started stinging and its still swollen and stinging now. I'm very confused because i Love cottage pie and Green beans and its a dinner i have regulary and its never happened before.
More of the problem:- It's only my top lip and its stinging also a bit itchy, and its dry around the lip but the lip itself isn't.
I know if you have high ANA but that can be MS or Lupus...but the antibodies for Lupus are different... how common is it to not have the antibodies for Lupus and still have Lupus? Is that possible...

Has anyone else experienced swollen lips? I'm 21 weeks and I have noticed this for a couple weeks now. I meet with my doctor this week but wanted to ask if its just me?
I think from that my upper and lower lip are swollen all the time. If someone looks at my upper lip it seems as if I have an injury there . I allply Vaseline every other night and it's effect is only in day but after sometime the lips get dry again. This has been happening from a long time (3-4) years. I also saw a doctor who gave me pottasium permagonate to apply there after dissolving in water but no changes.
