Common Questions and Answers about Swollen lip insect bite

swollen

My lip is swollen alot and it is getting embarassing, is there any way that i can stop the swelling quickly
woke up fine.... went into the shower and came out with a bug bite on the side of my lip. My face feels numb on that side. It's swollen and now I have an upset stomach as well.
The next day, today, it is very swollen. I ruled out the pimple because it is just about gone now,but the swollen lip remains. I've never had a problem like this before. Why is this happening?
My daughter gets a red, bumpy, swollen upper lip. The bumps emit a "water-like" substance when she flexes her lips. It doesn't itch or hurt. It has lasted as long as one day and as short as an hour or so. She hasn't noticed anything similar to each incident but is very concerned about it. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you!
I'm not having any other symptoms with the swollen lymph node and the node itself is not tender. Sunday morning my node was swollen and my upper lip on the same side as the node was moving involuntarily like a spasm. This actually woke me up. This stopped after 2 hours when my lymph node swelling went back down. I'm not sure what I should do next. I've tried Cortisone cream, antibiotic ointment, Nystatin and this morning I applied a jock itch cream.
THe next day, my lip was swollen and took appropriate medicines to reduce swelling etc... unfortunately, the bite on my lip resulted with the right side of my upper lip being enlarged (i guess scar tissue). what treatments do u recommend to get an even upper lip pls? I am desperate to get my upper lip even again...
Hi, This could be due to some insect bite or allergic reaction to something you have had or some substance you have come in contact with. You should try to find out the cause and take some oral antihistamine medications like loratadine or cetrizine if the rash is severe and apply calamine lotion at the sites. You should consult a doctor at the earliest and if the lesions spread then you need to go to the ER immediately.
Allergy can be due to any food, cosmetic, deodorant, soap, hair dye or medications. Even insect bite can lead to itchy welts and swollen lips. I will advise you to take an antihistamine like hydroxyzine for relief in symptoms. Apply calamine lotion on itchy welts. That may help. In severe cases of urticaria oral and systemic steroids are also prescribed. Schedule an appointment with a dermatologist and get evaluated. Keep me posted. Best wishes and regards!
I woke up with my left side lower lip a bit swollen with some numbness. The skin over the swelling has a darker red tinge. Also there looks to be almost a white pimple blackhead forming on the edge of my lip. The swelling has lasted a day and wasn't there last night. It also feels like the lymph glands under my jaw are getting involved but I can't tell. I suspect I might have herpes but am not sure. Are there any other signs/symptoms I should look for?
I was starting to think it may be some kind of insect or spider bite.
It's swollen enough that it looked as though I was punched on the lip or received an insect bite. I cannot pop it nor have a tried for it might scar. Now today I am noticing what is the beginning to be a second albeit smaller "zit". However I do have to divulge some personal information because I am afraid that it might be a cold sore or a form or herpes. I engaged in oral sex with someone I just met on the weekend.
It seems like the rash on the ear is in a 4 day cycle where it peels new skin every 4 days. This morning my node is swollen and my lip on the same side as the node is moving involuntarily. I'm not sure what I should do next. I've tried Cortisone cream, antibiotic ointment, Nystatin and this morning I applied a jock itch cream. I'm thinking that once I treat the insect bite/rash that maybe the node will go down. What should I do next?
SO AFTER WE SOLVED THAT I HAVE BEEN FINE FOR ALMOST TWO YEARS NOW AND TONIGHT I CAME ONLINE BECAUSE OUT OF NOWHERE MY BOTTOM LIP SWELLED UP TONIGHT.....BUT I AM HOPING THAT IT MIGHT BE AN INSECT BITE THIS TIME. BUT CHECK THOSE MEDS BECAUSE IT CAN BE SOMETHING IN YOUR SYSTEM THAT YOU'VE ALWAYS BEEN USED TO THAT SUDDENLY WORKS ADVERSELY.
A few days ago, I woke up with a single red bump that was a bit swollen on the border between my lip and upper skin that meets it. It didn't hurt though. Now, it's still there, is a bit smaller, is no longer red, and is rather hard. Other than that, nothing else seems to have happened to me. Any suggestions on what could be going on? I think it's a pimple, but I want to be sure.
At first I assumed it was an insect bite, but there was no bump. Assuming that the itch would go away on it's own, I willed myself to not itch it. But the itch was too much. If my underwear rubbed against my labia, they began to itch. If I sat a certain way, it would itch. It seemed to itch no matter what! It was frustrating to the point where I could no longer focus on anything but the itch. I've searched online for an answer, but I can't find anything.
Check with the vet first. If a cat gets a bite or sting from an insect, I think it can bring down the swelling. And of course if it does not, then you would know to suspect an abscessed tooth. (I'm thinking kittens don't get those anyway.
It is very ichy and my ankle is a little swollen and feels hot to the touch. The bite itself is tiny and has a slightly raised bump in the middle. Any ideas?
The affected area is slightly swollen, almost like I DID bite my lip. Today, I am all worn out like I am getting a cold too. Now, I have noticed that the area around the.... sore... looks bruised slightly. The area is slightly swollen and the "sore" is not round and hard. If it was chancre, would it be round and hard?
I was not very smart and used Vaporub on an insect bite on an eyelid. I admit it is totally my fault I have this problem. The eyelid and area above have been red and swollen for four days. I would have thought the redness and swelling would be gone by now, but it is still there. Is there anything I can do to reduce the swelling and get rid of the redness? Thank you.
About two months ago I woke up and had a swollen lip. I thought I might have been bitten by a mosquito or spider. It was quite swollen and itched. The swelling subsided but ever since then I have this reoccuring rash that breaks out. It starts out looking like a common insect bite but then spreads out. Mostly the rash breaks out on my shoulders, just under my chest and stomache, upper buttocks and ankles. There is no pattern of foods eaten or fabrics worn that preceeds this break out.
About 3 days later I started to worry about potentially contracting herpes as my upper lip started to tingle and itch, and now it's slightly swollen. The swelling isn't very noticeable, but my right upper lip is currently fatter than my left upper lip. I could be paranoid, as there haven't been any sores but I read somewhere that herpes may not always have symptoms.
I also have thought that it could possibly be Fordyce, but the small patch of bumps on my lip are sooo tiny and are the same color as my lip that it doesn't seem to match the Fordyce symptoms. Like you, my lips are dry (they normally are not) and the small patch of very tiny bumps feels scaly when i run my tongue over it. It's really not noticeable to other people (my sister couldn't even see what I was talking about), but I would like to know what it is and what is causing it.
I've had swollen eye lids, the soles of my feet will be hot to the touch and I am unable to walk from the pain, swollen finger tips, swollen nostril, my lip will look like I was punched in the face. The docs can't figure it out. Also, I have had a recent weight gain of 30lbs(Aug.125 - Dec. 155). I have chronic fatigue. I had blood work done last week, and the results are low potassium, low creatinine, and low T4 (thyroid). I am trying to figure out what's wrong with me.
you need to follow up on this with your provider or a dermatologist for a more proper evaluation. also you could never mistake a herpes lesion for a flea bite. zoster will not appear on this many body parts either.

There is no swelling of the area that I can tell and I do not feel a cyst or pimple under there. Sometimes if feels like my lip is a bit swollen but, the inside of my gums where it attaches to my lip does not hurt. I am clueless and do not know if I should go see a skin doctor or just my family doctor. Anyone have a comment to help me out or have had a similiar experience?
5F fever and hives all over her face, swollen lip, swollen eyelid. We just got her bloodwork done on Wed and are awaiting the test results. The pediatric rheumatologist ordered those tests and we will know the outcome only after two weeks. So it is an agonizing wait. The docs suspect Lupus and JRA as well. I notice that you are in Bryan, TX. I am in SA, TX. I noticed that few others on this forum were also from a nearby area. Could environment be a factor? Or is it just a coincidence.
it's real bad. I've noticed after a bug or insect bite the sore takes weeks to months to finally heal as well...sometimes leaving a scar.
I have these bumps also, odd ones all over the place, itch like crazy, just like mozzy bites, my head is the worse, but they are popping up more each day, havent got a clue what they are, I dont get allergies usually, I also thought they were some sort of bug bite, but now not so sure. any ideas would be glad to hear, I dont do doctors unless I have now other option.
