swollen

Avatar f tn Woke up Saturday morning with an insect bite on the side of my little finger. Finger and base of finger is very swollen, feels like a fully blown up balloon. Bite itself has now appeared and has a black tinge to it and small lump. I have photo, which I'm hoping you can see at Flickr/p/KG1aPq Now Sunday morning and still swollen, tingly and sore to touch. Went for walk in countryside (UK) Friday night so could be from then. Anyone know what did it? Thank you in advance.
Avatar n tn woke up fine.... went into the shower and came out with a bug bite on the side of my lip. My face feels numb on that side. It's swollen and now I have an upset stomach as well.
Avatar m tn It seems like the rash on the ear is in a 4 day cycle where it peels new skin every 4 days. This morning my node is swollen and my lip on the same side as the node is moving involuntarily. I'm not sure what I should do next. I've tried Cortisone cream, antibiotic ointment, Nystatin and this morning I applied a jock itch cream. I'm thinking that once I treat the insect bite/rash that maybe the node will go down. What should I do next?
Avatar n tn The other day my bottom lip was tingling on the right side, but i didn't think anything of it because i had a pimple coming up just below my lip so i thought that was it. The next day the right side of my bottom lip was swollen and was bigger by night time. The next day, today, it is very swollen. I ruled out the pimple because it is just about gone now,but the swollen lip remains. I've never had a problem like this before. Why is this happening?
Avatar m tn You should have this reassessed. This is not likely related to the prior bug bite. Persistently enlarged lymph nodes could be concerning, especially if they are increasing in size, hard, or immobile. My initial conern is for lymphoma, though certainly it could be other less "scary" things. You should see your doctor again regarding another CT scan, and possible biopsy.

961466 tn?1247550382 It is very common for the eye to be extremely swollen after an insect bite. It is also normal for it to be red, but if the redness is deep red and not a peachy or pink/red, then it could be infected. I'll bet this is more of a normal reaction, even though it appears to be grossly abnormal. She'll get better. Just be sure to check her eyesight when you are able to open the eyelid a bit. As long as she can see then she'll be fine. Sincerely, Timothy D.
1716637 tn?1309969408 Hello, It is very rare for insect bite to persist for so long after bite and the skin thinning to be present even years after the bite. I suggest you that you get it examined from your dermatologist and get a biopsy skin done to confirm the diagnosis. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps.
Avatar n tn It could be an insect bite! How long have you had it? is it oozing? Spider bites - these are the largest type of bite, often creating a large, raised, circular area with a visible pinpoint bite mark in the middle. They can grow in size and redness for several days, and tend to be quite painful. They can number from just one to 5 or 10, often in a straight line or confined to one body area. Spiders often travel across a body part at night, snacking along the way.
Avatar n tn Hi, welcome to the forum, this can be a insect sting due to wasp insect or bee. With insect sting, the symptom varies from minor bite pain to life threatening anaphylactic shock. The types of manifestations encountered are local reactions, systemic allergic reactions, toxic reactions, and delayed reactions. Local reactions are the most common type of response to insect stings and are seen immediately, and include swelling, erythema, and pain, affecting areas that are seen with the sting site.
Avatar n tn i have the huge bump on my lip . it looks like a bug bite , it is very red & hurts & i have no idea what it could be . i was sitting talking with my family & i thought i was just getting a cold sore . but i got up & looked in the mirror & i was like what is this ? could someone please inform me on what this is . i could really use the help .. thanks.
Avatar f tn Most lip swelling is the result of an allergic reaction to a cosmetic or other substance applied to the lips, to infection (commonly with the Herpes Simplex virus) or to an insect or animal sting or bite and rarely secondary to excessive exposure to sunlight. First, give strong consideration to the substances with which your lip may have been in contact.
Avatar f tn When I woke up the other day, I sound some small bumpy insect bits on my thigh, adn thought nothing of it. I slept naked the next day and when I woke up, my vagina was unbelievably itchy. I'm covered in what I believe to be these insect bites, my vulva is lumpy from them, slightly swollen and sore. The ones on my arm and thigh went down over a day, but these on my vagina are here for the third day ina row and they're driving me insane.
Avatar m tn I have a lump on the side of my neck, underneath the skin... its not really visible, but you can feel it when you move your finger across it. It appears to perhaps be attached to a vein. It is about an inch below the back of my hairline on the right side of my neck. the lump is very hard and the size of a pea or a beebee (sp?). I noticed this first two days ago not long after getting a particularly large insect bite about an inch or two from the spot. I'm not sure if these two are related.
Avatar f tn There are a number of possibilities, it could be simple swelling from irritation or a bite from some insect/bug, could be a cyst, etc. Though I really wouldn't worry about it until you know exactly what it is. Don't stress about it, just get the appointment made with your doctor. It's most likely nothing serious.
Avatar m tn A week and a half ago I had an insect bite on my right big toe and a few days later was stung by a jellyfish on the back of my left knee. The insect bite caused blisters around the site of the bite which eventually burst and appear to be healing. The jellyfish sting was painful and itchy, then oozed a lot, and is now drying out and fading. The question I have is what are some possible reasons I could be having additional rash continuing to spread on both legs?
Avatar n tn Hi Black and blue rash or bumps may suggest that this may be a bruise or a hematoma. An insect bite is a differential of course, however these insect bites may be reddish and they may be itchy. So firstly, we have to determine if these are indeed insect bites. Bed bugs and mites may cause this however; initial skin reaction may be a reddish bump which may later present as a bluish bump due to the bite. Are there other similar bumps or skin conditions in other parts of the body?
Avatar m tn I woke up with my left side lower lip a bit swollen with some numbness. The skin over the swelling has a darker red tinge. Also there looks to be almost a white pimple blackhead forming on the edge of my lip. The swelling has lasted a day and wasn't there last night. It also feels like the lymph glands under my jaw are getting involved but I can't tell. I suspect I might have herpes but am not sure. Are there any other signs/symptoms I should look for?
Avatar m tn Its not that small too.
Avatar n tn the tenderness extends to my upper pubic area. i think that i have some sort of insect bite b/c there is that type of itching just in that area. what can be done for this?
Avatar m tn It's probably best to leave it alone and let it heal on it's own. Are you sure it's a pimple and not some kind of insect bite? Keep an eye on it and if you don't see it healing in the next few days get in to see your Dr to find out what's going on.
Avatar n tn Also if she is having swelling then an allergic reaction due to an insect bite and the various systemic conditions esp involving the heart, kidneys and liver have to be ruled out.I would suggest that you request your mother to show herself to her doctor as it can be confirmed only after examination. Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted.
1399673 tn?1280779929 The problem is the next bite. Once the system is sensitized, the next bite can cause a fare more severe reaction. Purchase some benadryl, and keep it with her for the rest of the summer. If she gets bitten again, don't hesitate to take her to an ER if she develops any immediate problems (flushing, difficulty breathing, excessive inflammation).
Avatar n tn i have an insect bite, the area around the bite looks like a bullseye and is warm to the touch, there is no pain and it does not itch. should i be concerned?
