Hey my name is Molly and im 16, Last night i had Cattage pie and Green beans together and after i ate my top Lip had swollen up and started stinging and its still swollen and stinging now. I'm very confused because i Love cottage pie and Green beans and its a dinner i have regulary and its never happened before.
More of the problem:- It's only my top lip and its stinging also a bit itchy, and its dry around the lip but the lip itself isn't.
If its indeed an allergic reaction (sometimes called angioedema of the lip), then taking benadryl will help with calming down the inflammatory response to whatever irritant caused it. Are you allergic to latex? Hows the swelling now? Has it gone down? After a few days of benadryl, it should be significantly better.
Took another benadryl which helped for about 4 hours (and knocked me out again) and the hives and swollen lip came back.
Called in again and he said to switch off the Benadryl and try Loratadine. This does not seem to be controlling it so well (took it 2 hours ago).
So its been about 30 hours since the last Cipro dose. If it was indeed a Cipro allergy, how long before it should go away?
I saw my physiatrist today and we discussed the Lyrica, Benadryl, and the appearance of my lower lip. Since the lip has remained the same for 7 days, he feels it is okay to continue with both drugs, especially since I got such great nerve pain relief days 12-16 the first time around with the Lyrica. I will, of course, be alert for any changes. I may also get one of the drugs you listed in your post to have in the house in case the Benadryl doesn't work.
A swollen lip is the result of either inflammation or fluid build-up in the tissue of the lip. Discovering the cause of your swollen lip may take some detective work. It could be an allergic reaction to something. If you take an NSAID and Benadryl and it gets better you can typically correlate this with an allergic reaction. Could you have somehow injured you lip with your new Yeti and not realized it? Other causes could be cellulitis.
The only things that I knowingly am allergic to are lactose and chocolate, both of which cause me to purge. Only that side of my lip is swollen, my tongue and throat feel fine.
Also, if it helps, I'm a musician (woodwinds and strings), and I haven't come into contact with any unusual instruments. I've only played my flute, clarinets and violin this weekend.

So I have not changed anything in my diet or make up products or anything. Lately for the past 6 days my bottom lip and the lip line have been itchy and burning and sometimes tingly. I went to see my family practitioner thinking I could have herpes but I never broke out with a sore or anything. But the itch is still there. I took benadryl once and it went away but then came back. My lip doesn't look swollen, nor do I see anything abnormal.
I have been using Carmex for a wile now. Nothing happend until I bought a new lip gloss. I had this lip gloss for about a month now and yesterday when I put it on my lips started to feel tingly. I knew they were getting swollen and when I looked in the mirror they were a little swolen. You couldnt really notice it thou. Now I feel these little bumps on the edges of my top and bottom lip. On that Tuesday I woke up to a sore/swollen throat with post naisal drip, and my lip still tender and swollen, but not as swollen. I took some benadryl and the sore throat/ drip went away. Later in the morning I started experiencing diarrhea. Nothing horrible, but it made me decide to go to urgent care. They said it was an allergic reaction and prescribed an epipen. I declined because I have no insurance.

I had the same problem a few times last spring and summer and now it seems to be the same thing. My top lip would get swollen either on one side or the entire lip at night. It would usually be back to almost normal by afternoon the next day. It started out slowly with just minor tingling sometimes, then progressing into a lot of swelling and taking longer and longer to go down with each time it occurred. Occurrences also go more and more frequent.
my upper lip is swollen and if i close my mouth the upper lip doesen close and its blown up so it doesen close properly and wen i close them there bees a gap between my upper and bottom lip

I woke up this morning and both of my lips are swollen and the skin above my upper lip is red.i noticed that my lips have a very small bumps on then that kinda look like underground pimples but they are red not white.I tried putting ice on them to reduce the swelling but w/o any luck. I do have asthma and allergies but i have not been in contact or eaten anything new.What could this be? and what would be a good treatment to making the itching and swelling go away?
What do you think i could have if on a weds my face was really itchy and then thursday morn really red around eyes and my whole face was very itchy then friday i wake up with a swollen face and saturday i woke up and my eyes were completly swollen shut the doctor gave me a shot for swelling but it didnt help and now sunday i haave gotton thest red bumps on my neck and now im itchy all over but only swollen in my face. wat do u think it is?
ve been applying Maybelline Baby Lips lip balm for two months and recently the edges of my upper lip started drying out and in 2 days my entire lip was swollen, red and burning and feeling stretchy, but its not chapped but feels extremely dry. It has happened to me twice before (had used Avon lip balm then) and i applied Smyle herbal gel and Vaseline and it worked. This time though it is not working. I've been applying Smyle gel and Himalaya lip balm to cure it.
I have been using petroleum Jelly 100% and my lips are swollen and I am having a little trouble breathing. The cbc indicated that I have low rbc, mpv, and high plt. The Dr. said it's eiter a virus or leukemia. Is this true? What could this mean?
