Now, my problem is that my right knee is still looking pretty swollen AND now my right calf is a bit swollen too. The calf hurts a bit with some areas on it (the calf) hurting when I touch them. I don't know why these areas hurt. Also, the calf gets really hard when I walk on the right leg. I still cannot bend my knee as much as I used to and the added calf pains and swelling has me believing I may have made a terrible mistake wearing that wrap for so long.
Excuse me if this is not an appropriate place to post this question. I run. Both my calves are very tight but don't ever hurt. My right leg under the knee is swollen and leaves an imprint if I indent it with my thumb. Running injury? Vascular problem? Don't worry about it?
I have pain behind my knee and my leg is swollen in the calf. I was checked for blood clot and it was negative. I feel heat coming out of my knee when I place an ice pack on it. It warms the ice pack quickly. My thigh is swollen too, but all the pain is in my knee. It hurts to touch the bones in my knee. My ankles are a little swollen and also the calf on the other leg. I have had a meniscus tear and arthritis in one knee and baker's cyst in the other.
The last two days (8/5 & 8/6), I have had a situation where my right knee is swollen and very painful to the point I can not put weight on it. Using crutches and icing the knee. Here is the background on the 3-4 weeks leading up to my knee situation.

I noticed for the first time today that my calf is swollen and that my knee is too but not as bad as my calf. The pain gets worse if I fully extend my leg and point my toes up. Im assuming this is from some sort of an injury? I do not have medical insurance right now and wonder if there is anything I can do to help it and more importantly, what is causing this pain and swelling.
So heres what happenned, About 9 wks ago, I noticed that my right leg was swollen below the knee, mostly the calf, not so much towards the ankle and foot, I experienced paresthesia and minor discomfort(pain), no discoloration or change in temperature form the other leg. I went to the ER, got a d-dimmer test which was positive, and my leg was about 2in bigger that the other, got a heparin shot for 4 days but when I had the doppler done it was negative. Dr.
3 days later I could barely walk and it hurt to do anything but lay on my right side in a fetal position. A small amout of blood pooled in my ankle while the back of my knee became swollen. I did a week of rest, ice and elevation and saw a tad bit of improvement. (All the while waiting for my Primary appt.) Today I have a 4 inch knot in my calf muscle, about half way down the back of my leg. It doesn't hurt, I tend to think it's fluid.

My father had a total knee replacement in 2012 as well. He can wear socks, but his shin/calf mucles (or maybe tendons?) Are hard as a rock, and cause him more pain than he had before the replacement. He is currently getting an ultrasound to check for a bloodclot to be safe. He says the physical therapist's messaging, after a while, loosens the muscles and eases the pain. I've just posted to sevreal forums looking for a leg messager that's heated.
I fractured my ankle (a weber A) 8 days ago. I have a cast about to my knee. The past 3 days, more in the morning when I first get up, I've had pain pretty similar to a cramp in my upper calf muscle. It is also tender as well. The pain from initially getting up starts when I use my crutches. My ankle hurts and the leg does as well. After 10 minutes or so, the pain subsides. It is not this painful throughout the day.
Indeed, a DVT needs to be ruled in/out. It can be "settle" anywhere...my mother's DVT was behind her knee (opposite side of kneecap). With mine, (it came on suddenly, about 2weeks after a major foot surgery-I was tested for blood clotting disorders, but no, absolutely no disorders found and neither for my mom...we just got "lucky"...together lol.) But my DVT went from groin to ankle....
I've been having constant left leg pain in my calf and behind my knee. The only time it doesn't throb is when I lay down with my leg elevated. But standing and walking has become unbearable. The calf gets swollen and is painful to the touch. This is only my left leg though; my right leg/feet doesn't even get swollen. I'm just about 16 weeks pregnant. I saw my primary doctor on Monday and he sent me for ultrasound of the leg to check for blood clots. The test came back negative.
Hi i have a terrible pain in my left leg and it feels and looks like the vein at the back of my knee gets swollen and and it goes all the way up and it hurts a lot,it feels like the blood doesnt move, this is been going on for about 4 weeks but is worse and when im in bed its a very bad,can you please tell me what this is.

I have started weight bearing some on the operated knee and except for lots of swelling that appeared yesterday, things are looking good. I do my exercises, I can already flatten my knee, get it to bend some. My first PT is in 4 days next week.
Since yesterday I started developing this intense throbbling pain in my calf and lower leg. Yesterday I was sufficiently scared by it and stayed off my feet, upped painkillers.
I had an ultrasound for leg pain to rule out dvt and when she pushed under my knee and a place in my thigh and calf I had a stinging sensation and my foot began to go numb. Also, when she pushed on my left groin it caused terrible pain which im still feeling the effects of a day later, along with nausea. What would cause this since im negative for dvt? Could my lymph nodes be causing that? A nerve?
You are describing the exact same kind of pain I have had for many many years.The pain starts in my right hip & radiates down my leg into my knee & down my calf to my ankle. I've been to Dr after Dr but no one can figure out the cause. There is nothing that is seen on xrays or MRI. It just hurts severely at most times. I've not had an injury or accident so that is not a cause. If you ever get an answer be sure to post it so maybe I'll be closer to an answer.
On saturday her right leg below her knee started to swell up and yesterday it was not only the calf and leg that were swollen but her ankle was swollen too. Today we went to the doctor and he sent her to get a dopler scan to see if there were any blood clots. She got the scans and there were no blood clots found. The lady who was doing the scan said that she saw a lot of fluid coming out of her joints and asked me if my mother had arthritis, which i confirmed.
I had pain in the right calve muscle below the knee and the lower calve due to excessive streching about 3 weeks ago. The pain and uncomfort forced me to see a doctor who advised that I strained the calve muscle and had to use crutches. When I stand on the leg, it seems to swell slightly and the veins stands out and swells, particularly below the knee on the front inside of the calve and once I take the pressure off the leg and relax it the vein swelling subsides.
The last couple days my legs have been so sore. Well today since I'm wearing shorts I noticed a small lump on my putter calf part of my leg (only noticeable when I'm flexing. I'm all freaked out. My husband said to wait until tomorrow to see if it gets worse. The lump itself does not hurt, my legs just feel heavy and tired. But I busted butt around my house all day yesterday , followed by an intense love making session with my hubby. I was exhausted to say the least.
I also had a MRI on my left calf, no clot, no fluid, no growth and the muscle looks normal. Now i have a hard knot on my knee cap and my foot seams larger also. I sometimes have pain in my right hip, but am told it's not connected to the swelling. Also one of the veins on the inside of my right foot is popped out all the time now. Both my doctor and the Ortho don't know what's causing it.I have had no trauma to the area.
If my puppy lays against the outside of my thigh,its excruciating pain all the way down. Even behind the knee is swollen and warm to the touch. The pain is also down my shin bone. Is there a possibility of a blood clot this long after surgery? Even my calf hurts. I don't get Any Sleep and even my toes hurt to move them. What should I do? My surgeon is out of state and quite a drive. I thought about going to the E.R. but I'm sure they wouldn't do anything.
