and i have been experiencing super swollen gums and bleeding! It is ridiculously annoying and I dnt know what to do. My insurance isnt effective until Sep.1st so i cant go to the dentist yet. I've been brushing and flossing and mouthwash 2 times a day everyday and it still doesnt help. I was wondering of anybody else is experiencing this and if there are any other remedies to use until I can go to the dentist?
It is hard to say what it is without a thorough evaluation by your doctor. It would be best to get a solid opinion from your dentist. If it continues to swell rapidly, it may be a sign of an infection as swelling occurs rapidly with abscesses and infections.
I'm 20&1 and my guns are swollen....anyone else having this problem and what can i do to reduce the pain ?

Do you have any Lipton or whichever ya bags? If you put it in the microwave just enough to warm it up then put it on the swollen gums it should get better.
It was not an abcessed tooth, but they did see something there that needed to be cleaned out (no specifics on what) So he rooted around in there to clean out whatever was there, and now it feels like I have gums missing, although I'm sure it'll feel back to normal once it heals. No antibiotics, just let them know if there's any pain/recurrance of swelling in the next couple weeks, otherwise they'll see me in a month for my cleaning.
After 2 days i took it off because it was hurting so bad and i realised that i got a cut on my palate and several small cuts on my gums close to my teeth...About 2 months passed and i'm not able to put on the expander because my gums are swollen and the expander hurts my gums..I even had to turn back the key about 8 times because the expander wouldn't fit and i didnt want it to tight in my mouth. So the expander is sitll out because my gums are still swollen..My question for you is..
Hello there, There are many causes of swollen gums. It could be bacteria or a lack of a certain vitamin that can lead to swollen gums. Gingivitis, scurvy, periodontitis are few possibilities. The symptoms of gingivitis are swollen gums, bad breath, easily bleeding of the gums during flossing or brushing and gums may appear red-colored. Scurvy can lead to swollen bleeding gums, weakness, joint pains and muscle pains.
As my gums have been hurting for the past few days on the inside bottom in the front I decided to take a look in the mirror today and I noticed on both sides on the bottom of my mouth white hard bumps - they appear to be a part of my gum line and look like bone - however I do not remember ever seeing this before. The only thing that looks weird about it is that they both start at three teeth from the back and stop before the first front bottom 3 or 4 teeth.
(2) How easy is it to transmit the infection through kissing or oral sex when my gums are swollen?; (3) Do I need to take Valtrex indefinately or can I stop at some point (i.e., will the risk of transmission decline appreciably at some point making it reasonable to stop taking Valtrex?); (4) Are there any health risks from taking Valtrex on a long term basis?
The ortho tech said he needed to to a better job brushing his teeth, and showed us what she wanted him to do. Since that time it has been a big struggle. His gums in the back of his mouth are now right on top of his brackets, in spite of a great deal of effort on his part. The ortho office isn't a whole lot of help; they just tell him he's not doing it good enough. We even bought a sonic toothbrush that the office sells with the idea that it would help. It hasn't.
I see that im getting canker sores and my glands are swollen and painfull all through my neck and under my chin. My gums are sore too. Has anyone gone through this or might they know what it is,....
Hello, Such sore swollen gums can be due to gingivitis, infections, malnutrition and vitamin C deficiency, pregnancy or sensitivity to toothpaste or mouthwash . Take vitamin C supplements for some days and change your toothpaste brand and avoid using mouthwashes if your swollen gums are caused by sensitivity to toothpaste or mouthwash. Also have good oral hygiene. If the symptoms persist then pls consult a dentist and get gingivitis ruled out. Hope it helps.

I switched toothpaste and to a softer brush. Same thing this morning, no change. I plan to go to a dentist asap but it is a holiday weekend so I have to wait.
My jaw and gums ached and felt swollen. I started to use toothpaste for sensitive teeth and dental piks between my teeth ("The Doctor's" makes a great one). Within about two weeks the pain was greatly diminished and after about four weeks completely gone! This was after over a year with severe jaw and gum pain, too. Seriously, I was amazed! Please just give this a try. It may solve your problem. Try flossing your teeth with regular floss in the morning after when you brush.
After the 10days I still had a sore throat that feels like an ulcer down my throat, and I also still had about 10 mouth ulcers as well as swollen gums. I went to my Internal MD and he put me on Medrol dose pack and Levaquin. This initially helped w/ the mouth ulcers but the one down my throat got much worse. I was given a Celestone inj and put on Orapred. Also taking Pepsid. Throat neg for strep and mouth ulcers neg for Herpes. This helped for about 3 days but then the pain has come back.
sometimes warm salt water rinses can help more than expensive over the counter meds. you do need to go to the dentist as quickly as possible because you need a cleaning and antibiotic to clear up the infection. if its more serious you may need additional procedures.
On both sides of my upper mouth my gums have swollen. They protrude out from the sides of my mouth in the shape of a traingle. It comes from the back teeth up 5 teeth forward, then the swelling ends. This is both sides and it hurts to bite anything on both sides. The bottom is not affected and there is no discolorations anywhere. The swollen area is very hard and sticks straight out. It is swollen a little on the inside, but not the same strange long triangular shape.
well since then I still have the dry mouth but now I also have a swollen tongue, swollen pale gums only on my top set of teeth, bottom feels fine I have swelling in the inside of my cheeks and when I smile my cheeks are swollen especially the left side .
What will happen if I don't do anything? Will I have sore and swollen gums for the rest of my life?
OK thank yu!
Not sure what this is. I have always had sensitive teeth. I get easily irritated with anything. But recently over the past 2 years I have noticed that my gums are itchy (mainly the top ones) in some areas its red, a bit swollen & they do bleed in some locations when I brush my teeth. I try not to brush hard but good enough so that I have fresh/clean teeth. I checked webmd but in one of the possible conditions that it gives you does it state "itchiness" as a symptom.
The following day the pain increases and the swollen spreads gradually through my right cheek and one side of my jaw, I do take pain relief (Tylenol and Advil) the pains will relief me for few hours and begin to ache my agaiin, I have used lots of mouth wash and warm wAter but still remain the same, am in serious pain right now please help me wit what I can buy to use. One more thing I just relocated like one month ago.
