Avatar_n_tn Hi, I a whitish looking patch behind my last molar on my left side. it is swollen and I can feel the tension when I bite down from my teeth on top. My wisdom tooth is the one in front of the white patch. My wisdom tooth is pulled to the front from my braces after losing a tooth from a previous accident. Thank you for your help. Btw I just went to the dentist for a clean literally two days ago and dentist said my teeth are fine. Swollen gums started today. http://tinypic.
Avatar_m_tn Hey guys er first of all around 4 - 5 days ago my lower left gum (towards the back - where the 1st molar and the one before it is) my 2nd molar hasn't fully grown yet (and i'm 18... lol) Anyway, it first happened on the left side where it sort of swelled and was very tender so I couldn't chew on that side and it bled a little.
Avatar_f_tn I Felt back there and on both sides it feels like her molars are comming in. Her gums are very hard and swollen and they even swell inward toward the roof of her mouth not just out. my sister is a dental assistant and they said it was just bohns nodules. I feel like she had that when she was born but this is totally different. Is it possible for a baby to get their molars first... and if so is that bad? Please help me... Thank you!
Avatar_f_tn Now I it is mainly located at the extraction site (I have looked and clot is visible), and my gums are a bit swollen and the next tooth is throbbing. If anyone can tell me if this is normal or not I would greatly appreciate it.
Avatar_f_tn This morning she started complaining of her ear being stuffy and hurting, but the numbing ear drops did not help. The gums in the back look a little red and swollen, but not severely. By this evening she had no appetite, very tired, and was crying in severe pain. Is this a normal thing for the 6 year molars? Everything I've read said they come in slowly and usually aren't noticed.
Avatar_f_tn The gum behind my back molar is sore. I floseed the behind the molar and brushed the gum too hard a few days ago I think. Now the gum is swollen. The tooth ( an old root canal tooth) is not sore nor is the gum around it. What could it be?

Avatar_m_tn I have a dental appointment tomorrow. Caan the swollen cheek be from the broken molar? This molar lost its filling first, then after putting temp. dental filling in it, it chipped and broke. Thank you.
Avatar_m_tn When I pulled my cheek out to further inspect things, the cut seperated and I saw that it ran right along my last molar as well. Im really worried at this point. Also, my left gland is swollen and Im having pain swallowing. Anything you could tell me would be great, Im rather worried, and I have no insurance at this point.
232077_tn?1218426943 It's not the tooth in front of it because that has a root canal as well. My gums are really swollen around the tooth and I have been doing warm salt water rinses and very very light brushing and flossing to keep food particles away. If I get a Q-tip and rub the gum I don't feel any pain when I do this either. I don't have pus, drainage or bad breath either. So anyone got any suggestions? Is my tooth just traumatized from all the stress it was under? Can swollen gums hurt this much?
Avatar_f_tn The area of my gums behind my molar is very swollen and a bit squishy. The pain has also moved down to my left tonsil and it is swollen and hurts when I touch it form the outside. What is it most likely?
Avatar_n_tn Im still in alot of pain, im on hydrocodeine 500mg 1 every 4 hours as needed and i also use ibuprofin- 1 tablet every 4 hours and because my gums are soar and my cheek way in the back on top is soar and also on bottom and gum line next to my temp crown. Its sunday and im still in pain. The crown throbs and its hard to eat and move my jaw because of pain in the cheeks and gum line. the glands feel swollen. i have also used oralgel and kanker gel which only numbs it for 2 hours.
Avatar_m_tn Hi , i developed pain in my left lower molar 2 days back. That was followed by swollen gums around the tooth. I have a pending Root Canal treatment which i have been ignoring for a while due to my continuous travelling. After the swelling i self medicated with combiflam and amoxcillin. But in distress i took around 10 tablets of combiflam to reduce the pain. The swelling was gone the very next day but the left part of my neck swell up.
Avatar_f_tn I'm having swollen gums and some pain between my tooth next to my back molar and the tooth in front of it. It's on the bottom right side. It bleeds if I floss to hard and I don't see anything there that is stuck at all. The tooth in back is a crowned tooth and I've already been told by the dentist that I need to have the remainder of it pulled and need an implant (with the post and jaw bone and crown), so I'm not sure if it has to do with that or not.
Avatar_f_tn I have a strange almost 'coppery' taste in my mouth now but no pain really at extraction site. My gums are swollen but receding slightly today (kinda white and wrinkled). Is this normal?
Avatar_f_tn Two days ago, the very back of my gums (right behind my last molar) (almost my throat) swelled up as well as a the lymph node directly under it on the same side. My throat hurts on that same side too. This is causing some tooth sensitivity. Any thoughts? NOTE: I have alot of allergies, but have never actually been allergy tested. I have my tonsils and adnoids removed many years ago. Have a deviated septum. I do get cold sores from time to time (have for most of my life).
Avatar_m_tn First mandibular molar burning/itching/aching/throbbing/pressurized My gums swelled up with sores and pus in between first molar and pre-molar. Pebble sized painful swelling in between gums and cheek infront of tooth. Something was different this time, very different. It felt like there was a bug with a chisel hammering and trying to chisel it's way out of the tooth.
Avatar_f_tn I'm having a hard time imagining what you're saying about the underbite. Is the gums so swollen that now your bottom teeth are hitting your gums? Well, it seems like we can rule out HSV1 due to the lack of results from the anti-viral medication. How's your oral hygiene? Have you been brushing more poorly due to the irritation in the area? That could be affect the rest of your gums? You may want to ask or find an oral surgeon to take a look at it as well.
Avatar_f_tn Last Wednesday I went to my Endodontist for a root canal re-treatment on my #3 molar. Prior to this procedure, I was aware that I had an infection (abscess) at one of the tooth's roots. (The original root canal done about 9 years ago.) They removed the existing crown because it was a bad crown and I was planning to get a new crown anyway. They searched for any missed canals but did not find any.
Avatar_n_tn Yesterday and today my lower left jaw has become quite swollen (directly beneath my rear-most molar), with mild general pain ... no apparent "focal point". The tooth and gums around the tooth seem to have no pain or swelling, but I am pretty sure there is a connection (toothpick/floss too vigorously, for example?) I did recently retrieve a popcorn kernel from that tooth bed. Can there be an infection that "kicks into overdive" this rapidly ...
Avatar_m_tn i have a white soft bump on my lower right molar, below the tooth near the bottom of my gum where my cheek touches my gums...any ideas on what this is? It is slightly painful, seems to be irritated by acidic foods/drinks and if I touch it more often. I rinsed with some medical alcohol to clean bacteria...the bump became flat, but it is still white, and still is slightly painful.

Avatar_f_tn I took Tylenol which did put the pain at bay, but the tooth that was prepped had sharp pain when pushed up on, still does. It the upper 2nd to last molar, wisdom teeth gone. A week later I called the dentist because I was waking up at night needing pain pills. I also had aching at times during the day. The pain seemed to be coming from the jaw. He did not think it was an infection because I said the pain was worse on the inside of my cheek between the jaw bones.
Avatar_n_tn Yesterday morning my cheek was swollen. The pain was still there too so I went to an urgent care clinic just to have a doctor look at it and prescribe me with antibiotics until I was able to get to a dentist. The doctor told me it was most likely an abscess and wrote me a prescription for 250 mg of Amoxicillin (3x a day) and told me to get to a dentist the next day because she assumed they were going to want to lance/drain the infection.
Avatar_n_tn last week i developed an abcsess in my tooth. my cheek became very swollen. the doctor said the infection from the abscess had passed from my tooth into my cheek. they put me on keeflex. within 24 hours about 60% of the swelling in my cheek had subsided. i am now on day 6 of a 10 days worth of the keeflex.
Avatar_n_tn I feel as if my gums are rejecting my crown. I have pain, redness and tenderness at the gumline. Tooth #19 had a root canal last August 2006 and checked three times. The crown is perfect but I am in pain. At times the pain subsides and then for no reason it is unbearable. I do have recession and within three weeks of placement I continued to have recession. I thought I may be allergic to the metal or temp/perm cement, but I cannot find anyone to test me for this.
Avatar_m_tn Hello Dr. Tsang, My question is about my top molar second to the back. It has given me problems for quite some time and I think a filling may have fallen out. 12 days ago I was out shooting a rifle which put some pressure on my right cheek ,however I felt no obvious pain or injury at the time. That night I noticed slight swelling on the right side of my face. The next day it was pretty swollen, and I could feel a very large, hard bump when I ran my finger along my upper gums/inner cheek.
Avatar_m_tn I got crown on my molar about 2 weeks ago and then the food started to get stuck between my tooth and the crown. I used to take it out with floss but that started to hurt a little. Now that one side of the gum (the outer side of the gum between tooth and the crown) remains swollen and hurts when I eat food - I guess the food gets in between and hurts. My dentist is on vacation for a week, any idea whats wrong here and what could possibly be the solution?
Avatar_m_tn Ever since my wisdom tooth got infected two weeks ago I have had a sore throat that has not gone away. I also have what appears to be a very slight bulge (swollen lymph node?) on my neck on the same side as my wisdom tooth infection...the bulge feels hard and painless, and can be mistaken for a muscle but I'm not sure because I don't know what lymph nodes are supposed to feel like. A week ago I went to the dentist and got screened for oral cancer.
