Swollen glands near ear

Common Questions and Answers about Swollen glands near ear

swollen

Avatar n tn It looks like acne in a cyst form, but it itches, and now for the past 36 hours my gland near that area (near my ear) has been swollen. Am I having an allergic reaction to something like a spider bite? What can I do?
Avatar n tn I have also had constantly swollen glands at the back left side of the neck and near my left armpit since fall. The upper part of my neck swells up a lot, too, sort of like a huge double-chin running from one end of the jaw to the other. My throat feels tight, like everything inside is swollen and pushing against each other. It doesn't feel like strep and doesn't really hurt. I have been on two different antibiotics -- cephalexin and ???
Avatar m tn I woke up today with painful swollen glands on the right side of my neck. Tonight, I can also feel it in my ear, along with the back right side of my tongue. The pain in the glands is so sore, painful to the touch. My ear and tongue are nowhere near as painful. Any ideas or clues? I appreciate any responses :) I am new to this site and the forums, and will fill in my profile soon!
1548905 tn?1303331009 These days, I found pain swollen glands in my neck, behind my ear and under groin. Today, I went to see the doctor, he confirmed the swollen glands. And he also found I have sore throat, I dont feel anything about it. All the swollen glands cannot be seen by appearance. I dont have fever, no diarrhea, no weight loss. I also did the normal blood test, which showed WBC, RBC and all others are good. I am still concered abou HIV infection. I am wondering the risk of being infected by HIV.
Avatar n tn I have had this discharge ever since and just in the past 3 weeks I noticed swollen neck glands, one swollen groin gland and an ongoing ear ache. Do you think the glands are responding to the infection in my body? What about the ear aches? I have taken a 10 day dose of omnicef in the past 2 months but the discharge remains. I am scared to test knowing I gave my wife something. I am such an idiot. Thanks for any insight or comments.
Avatar n tn Thanks for the reply. Both my glands feel absolutely normal. I know what swollen glands feel like when you have a cold, and both mine feel normal. I've found that when I'm eating, the pain usually goes away....it also goes away for a while after a hot shower...weird. If it persists for a few more days, I'll go see the doc at the Health clinic at university.
Avatar n tn Blocked sebaceous glands, swollen hair follicles and excessive testosterone production will cause such cysts. Generally no treatment is required but they become painful then it means they are infected,Then surgical excision by traditional wide excision, minimal excision, and punch biopsy excision may be required. Other possibility is of swollen lymph node. Lymphadenopathy (swollen lymph nodes) is usually caused by a viral or bacterial infection along with other numerous causes.
1626225 tn?1306459118 I have sharp pains like lighting on the left side of my head from bottom of my neck where the glands are to behind the ear and some times they are so sharp that it leaves the area kind of numb. They last about 2 seconds. My neck is very tender and the doctor thinks that it might be related to my acid reflux problems. can anyone help me.
Avatar n tn What is the difference between swollen glands and swollen lymph nodes in the neck?
Avatar m tn i assume swollen glands in the neck means inflamed lymph nodes? our 6 yr. old was seen today for a fever and sore throat complaint. the ped. said she has a throat infection and swollen glands and prescribed meds. she did check other areas of her body for glands (at least that is what i think she was feeling for). about 7 weeks ago she had the same thing (tho the whole family passed around a fever/infection). should we be overly concerned that she has been sick like this twice in two months?
Avatar f tn I have swollen glands, ear aches, head aches and back pain, the doctors give me codiene which hardly helpbut it returns again 1-3 months later. what could this be?
Avatar f tn Hi, hoping to get some insight here, because I'm really afraid. It all started about three months ago with a feeling of a lump in my throat. Not an actual lump, but the feeling of one, right below where my adam's apple would be (I'm female though). I'd feel it on and off through the day, sometimes not so bad, and sometimes very noticeable. When I eat or drink anything it gets better though, the feeling of the lump goes away.
Avatar m tn Yes I do have fatigue/swollen glands. Also some congestion in my left ear. I have an appt for an ENT this coming Tuesday. Thank you for your reply.

Avatar m tn I have had swollen glands in neck for about 3 months now along with light-headedness and achiness sometimes. Been to ENT, treated w/Prednisone and anti-viral... said I have inner ear virus. Days go by and some days symptoms better but most days stay the same. Gland swelling never goes down. What the heck is wrong with me? Had blood tests, head MRI, check ups, etc and nobody can find anything. I feel crappy every day. I am also fatigued every day even though I seem to sleep all night.
517095 tn?1214422127 I agree with the previous post, if you could share more information that may help. I also have swollen glands most of the time which I relate to my Fibromyalgia. Sometimes my armpits get very sore and I'll notice the glands are swollen.
Avatar n tn I have slightly swollen glands and sore (nurofen) every four to six hours. Don't feel like I have infection anywhere should I go to doctor. Don't want to waste their time. Only had this for three days.
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with Eustachian Tube Dysfunction (which I knew was a possibility) and while I was there I mentioned my swollen nodes to the P.A who saw me first and she said swollen glands are normal. The next day, I knew something wasn't right so I checked my whole body for Swollen glands and found a very hard immovable (feels fixed to the bone) where the bottom of my ear behind my earlobe meets my neck. It is not visible but i can feel it.
Avatar m tn but too far back to see. Ear ache. Neck gland slightly swollen. Weird localized pain on skin at top of head near right side. Small area. Did you ever get any further diagnosis or validation of what it was for you?
