My right ear started to hurt and it spread to both ears and both sides of my throat. I had small white patches on my (swollen) tonsils. My neck was sore (I'm guessing where my lymph glands are) and is now swollen, and I can only open my jaw about an inch. I've been sick for five days, and am feeling somewhat better. Fever has broken. Having night sweats now, though. What am I dealing with here?
Hello, For the past few weeks I've had pain in my neck that started in the back of my neck but then seemed to spread to the sides. My glands are swollen under where my jaw and neck meet and today I've had some pain in my left armpit... I was at the doctor last week but he though it was bad posture.. I feel like it is not just that. The pain can be intense at times and I've been taking pain killers to ease it. Naturally, I'm concerned.. any help or advice would be great.

Ever since my wisdom tooth got infected two weeks ago I have had a sore throat that has not gone away. I also have what appears to be a very slight bulge (swollen lymph node?) on my neck on the same side as my wisdom tooth infection...the bulge feels hard and painless, and can be mistaken for a muscle but I'm not sure because I don't know what lymph nodes are supposed to feel like. A week ago I went to the dentist and got screened for oral cancer.

My ears remained clogged and I didn't really feel much relief and basically felt run down, no energy, etc after the second round of antibiotics. Recently, my glands in my neck have started to swell, mainly in the evenings, which cause discomfort. I take the medications at least 4 hours after taking the Synthroid to avoid interactions among the medications. Since seeing the GI, I had minor relief from the symptoms in my neck, and they have since returned and are getting progressively worse. I am also noticing some weight gain, and I lift weights and do cardio 4-5 days a week for at least an hour. I am 29, male, biracial (black & white), and I was in good health up until a year ago...
I woke up one day in early Sept 2002 with swollen parotid glands and I looked like I had the mumps. I had a weird purple rash down the front of my body. I then had diarrhea and vomiting. I developed a high fever 102-104 degrees, weakness, severe headache, fatigue like I never experienced before or since, cold sweats--soaked sheets, lymph nodes throughout my body swelled, neck stiffness and I was hallucinating. These symptoms lasted like a week.

Just to say I've had this a few times now, once ended up in A&E due to swollen uvulea(think thats the name) where they popped in some hydrocortisone and gave me piriton type tabs. They seemed baffled but noted my punchbag-like uvulea with some surprise and diagnosed allergic reaction. I was in a friend's spare bed on that occasion so mebbe. Just had another scary one (at home), seems to happen on waking during a doze.
Most of the symptoms sound like they could be sinuses. The pressure in and below ears, below jaw bone, neck tenderness, and even sore and tender neck to touch. Back of neck can also hurt unbelievably bad w/pressure. Am in the middle of BAD sinus infection right now and have all that going on. Just my penny's worth.
I have swelling in the right base of my neck just above my collar bone. It is significant enough to be worried. There is an aggravating sensation but not much pain at all. Is this possibly related to the thyroid? I have a doctor's appointment on Thursday, but this popped up in a matter of a couple of days. Can this be a goiter? And is it most likely related to treatment? Thanks in advance to all answers!!!!
But now I have another very severe pain flare up in the sinus, jaw, neck witih swollen lymph nodes again. And this time, the Amoxil is only working 60% on my symptoms and I've been taking it 7 days now. Now I will be finding a new dentist, probably at the University dental school in my city. But really the question comes, since those Xrays showed nothing before, what can this really be?
The lymph node in my neck did not go away. In march I had severe pain in my breasts and they found a cyst there. Did ultrasound and also looked at my lymph glands on the left side and two were swollen. They told me it was probably nothing. Months passed and I was ok. Then June came and I had exams and was under a lot of stress. My dad had bought back then. an ear thermometer and we measured our temperatures just for fun. I then noticed that mine was elevated around 37.7.
That is because for three years it has caused trigeminal neuralgia. I am in almost constant pain and have not ever found any relief. I eat a mostly natural diet because this is supposed to help, but the pain is always there to some degree. It also causes some numbness and muscle twitching. Let me know if you find some relief!! I'll try anything!!
Hello and hope you are doing well. Your symptoms could be due to a post nasal drip. This could build up during the course of the day irritating the throat. The post nasal drip could be due to a sinus infection, a cold or a chronic allergy. It could be sinusitis, if it is accompanied by nasal stuffiness and facial pain or pressure. Post nasal drip could also be due to allergens. These are substances like pollen, dust, animal dander, certain foods, insect venoms and certain medications.
