swollen

I have had sore, swollen glands in my neck for over 3 weeks. My Dr. agreed they were swollen but ruled out lymphoma as I had had some blood tests but they were done before I had these symptoms. I don't feel it would be lymphoma, but I thought maybe some kind of virus as I am running a low grade fever from 99.3 to 100.3. My "normal" is usually 97. I was taking an antibiotic (Bactrim) for an abscess I had on my buttock caused by a bee sting probably. Another Dr.
I get terrible pains around my chest particularly just before the girl thing and last week I could hardly breathe in or out the pain was so bad, but I don't get swollen glands. But I do get it frequently each month. As you know I'm on a premature menopause and the doc told me the fluctuating hormones cause all types of painy fluey symptoms particularly before or during the girly thing.
I have had constant swollen glands in my neck for almost 2 years since I moved to Idaho. Recently I developed acid reflux. I am in to health and I have been taking apple cider vinegar daily, to help reduce it. I have had a history of candida which I am also treating naturally. I have seen MD's and I have seen natural pathic doctors and no one knows what it is. I am getting frustrated with the swollen glands, They are very uncomfortable and make swallowing difficult.

Hello, For the past few weeks I've had pain in my neck that started in the back of my neck but then seemed to spread to the sides. My glands are swollen under where my jaw and neck meet and today I've had some pain in my left armpit... I was at the doctor last week but he though it was bad posture.. I feel like it is not just that. The pain can be intense at times and I've been taking pain killers to ease it. Naturally, I'm concerned.. any help or advice would be great.
When I first mentioned to my doctor that I had pain in the neck and tingling in the fingers... he felt it was probably due a disk in my neck and wanted me to have an MRI... at the time I wasn't too worried about it and didn't botherso much, so I didn't bother to go. However, now that I feel the lymph node I will go back to see what he thinks. One of my questions are... actually to Rob... do you have a history of problems with your teeth?
I don't want to remotely poke around to find out. The pain is a throbbing in my neck and cheek with sharp, acute pain at the extraction site. I am having a hard time sleeping more than 3 hours at a time. Could it be infected or a dry socket? Or possibly just trauma to the jaw due to the difficulty in extraction? Thank you!
I have TERRIBLE ear and neck pain and lower skull pain and I was on antibiotics for 3 weeks to no avail. Neck pain so bad I could touch my neck vein and it was so sore and I had pain shoot to my temples.. OMG!!!! ICE PACK helped thanks God but... next I spent hundreds of dollars at an ENT and Swallow study and CT scan of sinus and neck only for the ENT to say he has no answers and keep taking the Naproxen he gave me and check back in 2 months!?
I've had swollen glands in the back of my neck, under my chin and on my chest off and on for 5 years. Sometimes they are painful and sometimes they aren't. I often feel like I'm coming down with the flu but it never develops. It began when I was pregnant with my second daughter and developed anemia for which I took iron. I also developed eczema on the palms and soles of my feet at the same time. I saw my doctor who ran tests and ruled out mono, strep, and said all my bloodwork looked fine.
post nasal drip have remained. Stiffness of the neck (or glands in the neck ?) and swelling of glands under both armpits (every 3-4 days or so) have remained. Exactly 2 weeks after contact, my parents who are both doctors came to see me on holiday. I told them about my 'mumps-like' symptoms but again i was too embarrassed to tell them about the SW. My father got a WBC differential count done.

dry mouth has gotten so much worse, especially under my tongue. My salivary glands and neck feels swollen, I'm not sure how to tell for definite but my neck looks a little swollen. I'm also getting terrible head aches, behind my eyes and nose and at the top, sides & back of my head. All very localised and specific, with a general almost constant dull ache. They do not respond to any pain killers, so I've given up. Often paired with blurred vision.
My right ear started to hurt and it spread to both ears and both sides of my throat. I had small white patches on my (swollen) tonsils. My neck was sore (I'm guessing where my lymph glands are) and is now swollen, and I can only open my jaw about an inch. I've been sick for five days, and am feeling somewhat better. Fever has broken. Having night sweats now, though. What am I dealing with here?
I had one removed lower left 6 days ago an still have a lot of pain. No swelling in my jaw or pain elsewhere. Just my jaw where tooth was at. Not stiff. So i doubt infection possible. Jsut wondering how long to expect pain...
But now I have another very severe pain flare up in the sinus, jaw, neck witih swollen lymph nodes again. And this time, the Amoxil is only working 60% on my symptoms and I've been taking it 7 days now. Now I will be finding a new dentist, probably at the University dental school in my city. But really the question comes, since those Xrays showed nothing before, what can this really be?
My ears remained clogged and I didn't really feel much relief and basically felt run down, no energy, etc after the second round of antibiotics. Recently, my glands in my neck have started to swell, mainly in the evenings, which cause discomfort. I use a heating pad to relieve the pain. My ears are less clogged and my sinisus seem clear, but now the swollen glands. Still feel tired, lack of energy, etc. What to do at this point? Thanks.
but a person who goes in to a doctor soley because they are having neck swelling pain, ear pain, etc...and then a nodule is found that has ANY of the features that malignant nodules have...should be biopsied. I just read that even 5mm nodules usually provide enough 'matter' to get a result. and if they dont get it the first time, you can have a bx redone. if youre in pain, and its right in the area of the nodule, I would push for a FNA next.
my blood then in july i had my spinal cord stimulator removed from my back after it had been inside me since 2005/many revisions and problems, the stimulator was put in for pain relief. i had a mass of lymph nodes removed from my right groin leaving me with terrible nerve damage in the r/ groin and hip area. now i had an ultrasound and blood tests for the edema on my ankles and swelling on my neck. i have two small cysts on the thyroid and painful swollen glands and lymph nodes..
I take the medications at least 4 hours after taking the Synthroid to avoid interactions among the medications. Since seeing the GI, I had minor relief from the symptoms in my neck, and they have since returned and are getting progressively worse. I am also noticing some weight gain, and I lift weights and do cardio 4-5 days a week for at least an hour. I am 29, male, biracial (black & white), and I was in good health up until a year ago...
My 4 year old son has a very swollen gland on his left side and his tonsils are almost touching each other, neck pain, ear pain and fever. very confused by what the doctor has said, can you clarify? he had a throat culture done for strep, came up negative so they say it must be viral and he does not need to continue the antibiotics. said nothing can be done it is infectius mono and we just have to wait it out.
However, since then I've had unbelievable pressure below the ears, in the neck, under the jaw and sharp pain at times above my collarbone and my neck is tender... My surgeon (not sure why GP sent me to a surgeon) said let's wait and see how you feel... Yesterday... I went to his office and they put me in "the 2nd waiting room" and the nurse comes in and pulls out a gown and says, "now this is a breast exam, right" I said, "nooooo.
Just to say I've had this a few times now, once ended up in A&E due to swollen uvulea(think thats the name) where they popped in some hydrocortisone and gave me piriton type tabs. They seemed baffled but noted my punchbag-like uvulea with some surprise and diagnosed allergic reaction. I was in a friend's spare bed on that occasion so mebbe. Just had another scary one (at home), seems to happen on waking during a doze.
you guys have made my day~ in the last 2 wks, I've had CT scans, MRI etc about this pain & swelling in my neck & collarbone area- they found nothing. I'm 8 months into treatment- my pain is excruciating though- the only relief I find is from 500mg of naproxen- as soon as it wears off- the throbbing begins. My thyroid may very well be the cause - as last weeks blood work shows dramatic drop in #'s- and they cut my ribavarin by 1/4. and have added procrit starting this week.
That is because for three years it has caused trigeminal neuralgia. I am in almost constant pain and have not ever found any relief. I eat a mostly natural diet because this is supposed to help, but the pain is always there to some degree. It also causes some numbness and muscle twitching. Let me know if you find some relief!! I'll try anything!!
The lymph node in my neck did not go away. In march I had severe pain in my breasts and they found a cyst there. Did ultrasound and also looked at my lymph glands on the left side and two were swollen. They told me it was probably nothing. Months passed and I was ok. Then June came and I had exams and was under a lot of stress. My dad had bought back then. an ear thermometer and we measured our temperatures just for fun. I then noticed that mine was elevated around 37.7.
Hello and hope you are doing well. Your symptoms could be due to a post nasal drip. This could build up during the course of the day irritating the throat. The post nasal drip could be due to a sinus infection, a cold or a chronic allergy. It could be sinusitis, if it is accompanied by nasal stuffiness and facial pain or pressure. Post nasal drip could also be due to allergens. These are substances like pollen, dust, animal dander, certain foods, insect venoms and certain medications.
The pain finally diminished, but about a month later it started in my right neck. The pain now runs all the way down my neck and into my shoulder and right chest a bit. It especially hurts if I apply pressure to my pulse(Carotid artery). It feels like inflammed nerves or something. So, I went back to another doctor and he gave the same diagnosis. He said unfortunatley the cause is unknown. Now I am on a stronger anti-inflammatory. I just want to know the cause so it won't come back.
I woke up one morning and my jaw was clicking like crazy. All my glands in my face and neck were swollen. My jaw muscles were swollen too, which is what was causing my jaw to click since it couldn't open and close correctly. Stop stressing. The stress will make it worse. Also, you may have allergies. Take some antihistamine and see if anything subsides. Also the white patches that look like tonsillitis, I was told by the eye ear and nose doc that everyone has patches.
