i assume swollen glands in the neck means inflamed lymph nodes? our 6 yr. old was seen today for a fever and sore throat complaint. the ped. said she has a throat infection and swollen glands and prescribed meds. she did check other areas of her body for glands (at least that is what i think she was feeling for). about 7 weeks ago she had the same thing (tho the whole family passed around a fever/infection). should we be overly concerned that she has been sick like this twice in two months?
t go to the dr. but I am sure it was hay fever. This summer, they have returned, I am now 60. They started at the end of May, (mostly on the left side) an attack weekly, sometimes up to 4 in a week. The last one was 2 weeks ago. After the attacks, I would have one sided throat pain when swallowing, Eustachian tube hurt, some ear pain when swallowing.
I have had sore, swollen glands in my neck for over 3 weeks. My Dr. agreed they were swollen but ruled out lymphoma as I had had some blood tests but they were done before I had these symptoms. I don't feel it would be lymphoma, but I thought maybe some kind of virus as I am running a low grade fever from 99.3 to 100.3. My "normal" is usually 97. I was taking an antibiotic (Bactrim) for an abscess I had on my buttock caused by a bee sting probably. Another Dr.
Hello. I'm becoming increasingly worried about swollen glands in my neck. The swelling is located on either side of my neck, roughly half an inch below the mastoid process (these might be the upper cervical lymph nodes but I'm not sure). They can't be seen, but when I feel my neck they feel hard. I've had them now for about three weeks. My only other symptoms: a slight sore throat that comes and goes, and a very infrequent cough.
They did eventually clear up all my symptoms and also the swelling in the neck throat glands and neck glands went away. Sortly after that about 2 weeks later I noticed I had swollen neck glands again but that only lasted a week then went away completely. Early decemeber I noticed my neck glands were swollen again. That followed by a dry throat and small cold that only lasted about 3 or 4 days those symptoms disappeared but my swollen neck glands continued to say.

41 days after exposure I got tested with a ELFA 4th generation test and this one came negative...
The prednisone helped my swollen tonsils, but the glands in my neck keep getting worse. No ibuprofen helps the pain of it, which is causing me a lack of sleep. Is there anything else I have possibly overlooked? I'm not exhausted all the time at all. my entire neck is killing me and behind my ears and head, occasionaly my jaw and armpits too. The headaches are barely managable and I am not sure what else it could be.
I have also had constantly swollen glands at the back left side of the neck and near my left armpit since fall. I have swollen gland (big size)left below my ear, so many small glands left side of the neck, at the time of starting it is painful after that without swollen remains. My doctor diagnosed this is a TB. but the same time Toxoplasma & antinuclear antibody is positive. Now i am started taking medicine fot TB. my doubt isafter compleating anti tuberculosis medicine these glands will go off!!! I am a Hypothyroid patient...

Hi. Thank you for replying. There was a puncture wound - it bled. But it's not painful in any way and I don't have a fever. Everything seems normal except for the swollen glands and still a little bit of bruising.

About 3 months ago I got swollen lymph nodes under my arms, large, around my neck and under my collar bone, both sides and above my elbows, about 4 glands each side above my elbows. I now have a rash on my forehead and sometimes on my arms, which when I scratch turn bright red, like I could scratch my name in. I have a bright red rash around my neck which disappears when i touch it and reappears brighter after. After a shower it is bright red. Could this be lymphoma??
my 3 year old has swollen lymph nodes one on back of head and the doctor said her glands on her neck were swollen. and is running a fever of 101. doctor really didn't seem concerned thought the swollen lymph nodes were from her bites.just wondering could it be something else. my daughter not complaining of sore throat.

The day the first symptom started was a red tingling throat, which was hardly noticable. No glands were swollen until about 5-6 days later. It started under my chin and jaw. Then 2 days later they were on the back of my neck and underneath my arm pits(same day). My whole neck on the sides was swollen, but it didnt feel like lymph nodes. Other places felt like lymph nodes on my neck. The ones on my neck and underarms were small but there were many. These are the only symptoms no rash, no fever.
About five days ago, I noticed one of the glands on the left side of my neck was a little sore and swollen. The next two days, I woke up with a bit of a headache and that heavy feeling in your eyes. I started noticing a bit of a fever - about 99.5. Now for the last two days, I have had up to 100.5 with white spots on my left tonsil and some pressure in my left ear. All the swelling/pressure is on the left side of my head/neck - but there's no pain or soreness in my throat.
Allergic reaction of some sort?? im 12 so i dont know what this could mean but its just an idea! hope i helped!
