I been having a sore throat and swollen glands since 2 weeks after unprotected sex I tested negative for hiv what can be causing my sore throat and swollen glands I have white dots on my tonsils and I’ve gone to the doctor and no medication helps nothing at all and I’m at 3 months rn with this chronic sore throat and swollen glands

Over the course of the day my symptoms worsened, I had a severly sore throat, swollen glands, headache, all of my joints ached but mot my muscles and had no fever. The next day I saw my family doctor. He tested for strep, (test was negative). He said my lungs sounded good, no sinus problems and blood pressure was fine. Said he had no idea what it was. I was instructed to take Ibuprofen and chloriseptic spray for thoat to help with pain.

For the past three week I have been sick with a cold beat the cough which lasted a week sore throat lasted a week, now my throat is still raw and my glands have been swollen for two weeks going on three. It seems I am constantly clearing my throat! Is this normal, why am I sick now all the time?

hi, i got a sore throat about 2 months ago, the doctor diagnosed tonsilitis, and put me on calvepen, this got rid of the fever symptons but my glands stayed swollen an my throat stayed red, when the fever came back a few weeks later i went back and he put me on augmenten, this had the same effect i went back last week and was put back on calvepen and he did a mono test which came back negative, but said my white blood cell count was high and it looked like i was at the tale end of a virus, somed

Around the same time I developed swollen glands in my neck and a mild sore throat. Sore throat went away in about 3 days and the blisters (there were about 10) disappeared a week and a half later. Now I'm 4 weeks from initial encounter and I still have large sensitive swollen glands in my neck and less swollen around my groin. I'm pretty sure my body temperature has been slightly higher than usual for the last 2 weeks also. Is this normal for having contracted herpes?

After I went home to look at mono symptoms I noticed I have had almost all of them. Sore throat, swollen glands, fatigue, abdominal pains, possible liver pains. So hopefully you are correct. I have been feeling alot better lately. Still get the fatigue. I should be able to find out the results next week. Thanks again Doc!

when i woke up the next morning my glands in my throat were extremly irritated and swollen. and now i am expirenceing body aches along with the sore throat. could ii possibly have caught something with having theses symptoms.?

The condom did not appear to break during our brief encounter. 4 days after I developed swollen nodes under my jaw and a bad sore throat. The swollen glands have remained swollen for over 4 weeks and are even visibly enlarged. I took full std panel on day 11 and was negative for everything including hiv. I know this is too soon to test but I have been very anxious about this exposure.

It has now been a month that my neck glands and my throat glands have been swollen steady. It is not sore, the only pain I feel is when they start to grow bigger, when ever i'm chewing and swallowing it will feel like a pinch sometimes, but not always. I went to my doctor early this week, but he's not sure whether to put my on antibotics for 2 weeks or not because he thinks it could either make it better or make me feel worse.

Have you had your throat checked for a strep infection? You could also perhaps have mono if you had a sore throat, swollen glands and high fever, fatigue etc. A lot of things will cause high ESR and swollen glands. What other symptoms do you have?

Today, I went to see the doctor, he confirmed the swollen glands. And he also found I have sore throat, I dont feel anything about it. All the swollen glands cannot be seen by appearance. I dont have fever, no diarrhea, no weight loss. I also did the normal blood test, which showed WBC, RBC and all others are good. I am still concered abou HIV infection. I am wondering the risk of being infected by HIV. Meanwhile, if I go to test on Monday, which means only 7 weeks after the exposure.

A sore throat and swollen glands go hand in hand. If it doesn't go away, see your doctor for some antibiotics. Take care.

Exactly 2 weeks later, I started getting really bad muscle pains which were followed by a fever and an extremely sore throat. This was accompanied by a very bad cough. When my lower wisdom tooth and surrounding gum was sore a few years ago I had swollen glands and a sore throat on the same side. I found ibuprofen worked best as it's an anti-inflammatory. Make sure you have something to eat before you take it though(even just a biscuit or piece of fruit)because taken on an empty stomach it can damage your stomach lining.

I took him to the doc and she did a strep test that came back negative. Now Nov.1st he is complaining of a sore throat and his glands are swollen again a very painful to touch with no other signs of infection. He is only 11 years old now but I want to know what is causing his glands to constently swell? Should I take him to see a ENT?

But but swollen glands still there and I took some other medicine to try get rid of it which apperantly didnt help, until now it is march my swollen glands and ocassional sore throat is still there but no fever and other hiv sympthom but rashes sometimes and even small tiny white dot on my lips which might be quite common. The next day I found the early in HIV, swollen lymph glands are common with sore throat and I checked around under my arms and groin and felt nothing even though I felt a little pain that came went, but it didn't hurt to touch it. I checked the next day and felt 3 pea size glands in armpit and 2 in another. i felt the groin and felt some pea size gland, but was not sure. IF IT WAS DUE TO EARLY HIV, SHOULD I HAVE FELT THE LYMPH GLANDS THE SAME DAY AS THE SORE THOAT?

So any way I started with a sore throat . Then my collarbone glands inflamed. I took cold and flu and such ,on the fifth day my glands went down (not inflamed any more ) but still I have a little cough and chest pain . So I'm asking could this be related to an std ? Appreciate any input , thanks .

Doc, Thanks for the prompt response. You mention 4 to 14 days as the time for blisters to appear. Considering I'm only 60 hours into this possible exposure, I'm guessing it's too early to tell, right? I'm just nervous the swollen glands for 48 hours is a sign for things to come. Your response gives me hope, I just want to make sure it's not false hope.

In addition now ( 4 weeks after the lancet incident) I am experiencing a sore throat and my lypmnodes above my collarbone seem swollen and also the one in my groin area. Can I lancet transmit HIV? Could they have purposely infected me with HIV and not told me anything about it? Was I at risk of HIV?
