Is it possible just to have right sided heart failure and never goes into the left side? I am confused. My relative who is going on 90 has swollen legs feet and ankles, one side more than the other. He has never been short of breath and lungs are clear. I read that right sided shows symptons such as I described. Does this mean the type he has is just the beginning or not as dangerous to have? The diuretics he is one just doesnt do the trick.
Whether it's walking running, the heat suddenly coming on, eating something hot or even if i get worked up about something! My hands get hot and red and slightly swollen, or my feet or both hands and feet or one foot and one hand or just one hand or one foot. It had been steadily getting worse over the years *I'm 20 btw* and i decided it was time to see a doctor since it was becoming very noticeable. It's typically worse in the summer.
In winter my toes get swollen and severely itchy. My shoes are not too small, I wear socks, and have no funguses that I know of. I have never seen a doctor about it but it has happened every year for about five years, and only in the winter. I'm just wondering if anyone could tell me what it might be.
This new box warning via FDA is something i've been aware of for some time in patients using ciprofloxaxin, levaquin (levofloxacin), Moxifloxacin (Avelox), ofloxacin (floxin), gatifloxacin (tequin), and i'm glad it'll be highlighted on labeling, showing it's increasing incidence: risk of tendinitis and tendon rupture is further increased in those over age 60, in kidney, heart, and lung transplant recipients, and with use of concomitant steroid therapy.
My father is with her and he is the same age. Now her feet are swollen. And she refuses to see a doctor for this problem Please can you help me I love my mom so much, she also was a acloholic for about 10 years but quite when the doctor gave her tylnoel with codiane. Please give me some advise. She also does not want to take care of herself, like bathing or brushing her hair or putting clean clothes on please respond asap.
I have the same problem as this red swollen itchy eyelids. Don't have allergies like this. I do wear contacts--why would they cause this? I haven't been wearing the contacts for days now....
A few days ago I noticed a sore, reddish swollen lump on my left inner thigh, right along my bikini line. It has since gotten larger (about the size of a nickel, and more elongated now). It only feels sore if I press on it or rub against it. It seems like a soft lump that moves around with the skin. Last night I applied a warm washcloth to it for about 30 minutes, which made it feel better. Could this be a swollen lymph node, or maybe an ingrown hair?
I read the posts regarding the causes of feet swelling. I have an additional question. My elderly mother (88) is experiencing swollen feet. She is under the care of several doctors--one who specializes in geriantrics. She is on Zestril for hypertension and that has been under control for years. She is also on eye drops for glaucoma--again for years. However, she fell recently (about 10 days ago) and the swelling in her feet is not going down although the bruising has improved.

My feet and ankles are so swollen it's unbelievable. I've been drinking water and laying with my feet up, but it doesn't seem to be helping. Is there anything else I can do to help with the swelling? Are those long compression socks ok to try? My husband has some I've been thinking about putting on, but I want to know it's safe first.

I was dx with ms a little over a year ago and first started having symptoms Sept of 09 and I still have yet to have a day of no symptoms and the weirdest one is my feet feel swollen and nothing helps. I would love a day with no symptoms. Since May of last year I went from walking great to now using a walker. Dr says I have spastisty and I am on baclofen and do my streches 3 times a day but nothing seems to help. Any advice would be great. Thank You..
It`s amazing how daily tasks seem so burdensome now. I have a desk job but I still get swollen feet and work stress doesn't help. Walking up and down stairs at work is hard too. @bubblebaybii I'm not even sure how you were able to do 12 hour shifts...you're a trooper.
it was that painful. My feet were still swollen, but now I noticed that I had pitting edema in both feet and all the veins in my feet were protruding and were purple/red. I was so nervous that I could barely eat for the next week and actually lost 3kg in that time. This lasted all week until I got back to Egypt where I went to the ER and the doctor did all kinds of blood tests (heart, liver, kidney, and an EKG) - all were normal.
More recently, about three weeks ago, my feet and ankles turned red and became swollen, but the red seems to be myriad red dots, small as pin pricks. A cluster of red dots formed a little above my left ankle on the inside of the leg, and it felt like there was something hard and flat under the skin. After a few days the cluster spread out to form a ring of pin pricks and the center skin turned slightly yellowish, taking on a leathery feel.
My ankles don't exist any more and my legs feel tight and look like those of an elderly lady, my fingers feel stiff. I am not yet elderly (though drs call me "elderly primagravida!") Today my endo wrote "oedema' in big letters accross my chart. So far no protein in my urine (touch wood) and I'm monitoring blood pressure (home monitor) and it's fine. If it goes up I'm to call my docs asap. My OBE is concerned but at this stage just monitoring...
I get this weird feeling and feel very warm, however I don't have a fever to my knowledge. I will begin to sweat alot and my hands and feet will feel a bit swollen from being so warm. My hands get though like I am holding them over a fire. My face, neck, chest and thighs feel very warm to me also. I get this sensation over my skin like my skin hurts....sort of like if you spent the whole day in the sun and and your skin becomes sensitive to touch.
he has also decided that he has to make things right with God , somehow, because he feels he may be dying... His feet are so swollen, we cannot see his ankles.. and of course the , continous vomiting. I'm sure the Lortabs, after taking approximately 30 ten's daily have damaged his liver. Anyway, he is extremely sick, and feels he is close to death, so he decided to tell me the truth about You, and Logan General in general...
The more this happens the bigger she is getting and the harder it gets for her. She also gets the shakes really bad and swollen feet. The thing is because we live in the U.K she is using the NHS and when she goes to see the G.P he is always rushed and i dont think he gets enough time to talk to her and review her drugs properly and also because it is the NHS from my experiance tend to use the cheapest availible drugs until they become a problem.
I've been having more dry skin on my legs, feet, hands, and arms...my feet are calloused and cracked to the point that they are swelling on the bottom of my feet making it almost impossible to walk or stand. i have had severe acne since i can remember, especially the kind that comes under the skin and never really develops a head most the times i have to squeeze them to get them to stop hurting. I have excessive hair growth on my chin, chest, and abdomen.
You know youre pregnant when your elderly neighbor asks daily if you want to come over for lunch or dinner so u do not get too swollen. You know youre pregnant when you cannot remember what ur feet look like anymore.
Sometimes it will start as a mild itch or tingle and then within a short time the swelling starts. Both bottoms of feet and one hand are swollen today. I haven't eaten anything all day. The allergist gave me a list of foods and molds that I am allergic to but I still have the swelling. It is very embarrassing when it is on my face. The swelling usually last for about 24 hours before the pain go away. Soaking in an epson salt bath relieves the pain temporarily but not the swelling.
My elderly Mother (91) has started having "seeping" fluid from her legs. She was on Lasix for swelling in her legs and fluid around her heart, but my sister took her off of it. What is the danger of the "seeping" fluid or what could cause it? I am very concerned about her. I had never heard of it before. I read a little bit on lymphdema, but she doesn't fit in any of the other criteria.
Currently, the 2007 headaches and backaches have returned. I still think that the headaches represent some sort of allergy. My feet hurt often. I kick my shoes off while driving. The tops of my feet often feel like many tiny little pins are pricking. The sides of my calves are often hurting. My knees are shaking worse than ever on the stairs, sometimes with sharp shooting pains. I am trying to avoid stairs now.
more than normal) Rebecca did an exam and found that she had a strand of swollen lymph nodes in her groin area and one in her ankle and one under her arm. All on the right side of the body. She seemed concerned and wanted to rule out cancers so she immediately scheduled Hollie for ultrasound on Lymph Node areas which confirmed that they were Lymph Nodes but no masses were found. She then was scheduled for a Fine Needle Biopsy on one of the more obvious enlarged Nodes in her groin.
My left leg swells really large during the day and it actually hurts it gets so swollen. And my legs hurt, like the muscles hurt and my ankles hurt. Yes, I do feel like I have to move them around like with restless leg, but it has gotten SO BAD, that the dosage of Ropinerole has been doubled, and my new doctor says that the dosage is way too strong. He asked me if I had gone to a neurologist and actually been diagnosed with RLS, and I told him no, so I think that's what will happen.
Age - The chance of having a stroke more than doubles for each decade of life after age 55. While stroke is common among the elderly, a lot of people under 65 also have strokes. Heredity (family history) and race - Your stroke risk is greater if a parent, grandparent, sister or brother has had a stroke. African Americans have a much higher risk of death from a stroke than Caucasians do. This is partly because blacks have higher risks of high blood pressure, diabetes and obesity.
