Before I went to bed last night my eyes were really red and when I woke up this morning my eyes were swollen on the top and bottom. What are some ways to make the swelling go down. I went to a heath center today and they gave me some Medicine and it is working but my eyes are still swollen. What are some other things that I can do to prevent the itching and make the swelling go down faster???
That happened to me at 36 weeks and I ended up having severe pre-eclampsia. Some swelling is normal, but my face, lips, and eyes would swell up too in the morning. I hope in your case it's just normal swelling!
I recently started having significant under eye swelling. I've had "bags" under my eyes before, but this is different. It's more like fluid filled "sacs". My nose also looks swollen. This will reduce slightly as the day progresses, but not completely. My allergies are under control, so I am concerned. it was on February that i felt that every morning i had dry eyes and irritation became worse and i went to ophtalmologist and he gave me predforte and the dryness got better but my eyelid were swollen and i also noticed that whenever i go under outdoor heaters this swelling becomes worse even if i'm sitting far away from the heater and i don't feel the heat!!

The facial swelling went down fairly quickly - about 2 weeks, but the swelling in the rest of my body took at least two more,,, I do have to say that I never had my eyes swell shut (swollen, but not shut) or pain behind them. After about 3-4 days the swelling moved/shifted to the area between his eyes, and then to the LEFT side of his eyes, and the original place where the swollen started (the RIGHT side) was gone, like it moved and shifted to another place.
So it became his LEFT side area around the eyes were swollen, this went on also for about 3 days.

My daughter was seen at the local emergency room at local hospital for a swollen forehead with no symptoms of fever or insect bite and had blood test done and a cat scan which were clean but doesn't explain the swelling on her forehead and was given pretnozone (spelling) and was told if the swelling didn't go down to see a plastic surgeon. She has just return from being in Mexico for 5 days and noticed it on her 3 day while there.
I have swollen eyelids that come and go, almost like hives, but rarely itch. Can be one or several. On omnicef for sinus infection, but doctor doesn't think this is causing it. Before omincef had a sulfer type med that caused swelling in joints, sick stomach, rash, fever. Have been on Omicef 5 days. Started having strange raised bumps for three days that come and go. Will say that two weeks ago had actual hives around eyes and think it was caused from eye cream.
Without an examination and in depth history, it is not possible to determine the cause of your swelling. If the swelling is associated redness, warmth, pain of the eyelid, make an immediate appointment. Try to get an early morning appointment so the doctor can see the eye at its worst.

my nose is swollen at hte left tip and both sides of my nose(bony)are very painful to touch.i also have swelling and bruising around my eyes and swelling on left side of forehead immediately above my left eye.i also have severe bouts of pain here too.wearing glasses is painful onth ebridge of my nose.
have had antibiotics whch helped but symptons returned.
What do you think i could have if on a weds my face was really itchy and then thursday morn really red around eyes and my whole face was very itchy then friday i wake up with a swollen face and saturday i woke up and my eyes were completly swollen shut the doctor gave me a shot for swelling but it didnt help and now sunday i haave gotton thest red bumps on my neck and now im itchy all over but only swollen in my face. wat do u think it is?
I often wake up with a large, swollen eyelid. This has happened for over a month now. It alternates between both the left and right eye, top or bottom eyelid, and sometimes even both. There is no pain, and the swelling is normally reduced after using a cold compress... I have not noticed any patterns as to when the swelling occurs, and went weeks without makeup to see if that would help (if it was an allergic reaction.) Nothing seems to be effective, what could be the problem?
