Avatar f tn Before I went to bed last night my eyes were really red and when I woke up this morning my eyes were swollen on the top and bottom. What are some ways to make the swelling go down. I went to a heath center today and they gave me some Medicine and it is working but my eyes are still swollen. What are some other things that I can do to prevent the itching and make the swelling go down faster???
Avatar n tn Hello, I started getting swellen eyes about two years ago. One eye or the other would swell up like a ballon to the point I could hardly see out of it. It turned out to be a couple of things. One being the new dryer sheets that I had dried my sheets with. The swelling would start during the night while I was curled up in the sheets. I think it would happen if a tear or wet hands after returning from the bathroom would touch my eye area.
Avatar f tn Yesterday during an exercise class perspired so profusely that all of my makeup literally melted and ran into my eyes. By the time I was out of class, my eyes were almost swollen shut and fire-engine red. They have been weeping nonstop since then. I've used Alaway and it has calmed the itching, but they are still extremely red and swollen. Should I just allow time for them to calm down on their own, or is there something more I can do? Thank you!
1201433 tn?1328997637 I checked the archives, could not find anything on swollen eyes. My eyes have pools of fluid in spots around them , I have tried tea bags cucumbers, hot and cold packs. I have stoped any makeup, I am assuming this is some kind of effect. I had to start on thyroid meds, this is when this started, but I do not see this on the side effects Anyone else experiencing this sympton?
Avatar m tn This is swelling of the deeper layers of the skin due to an allergic reaction. The reaction occurs more commonly on the face around the lips and near the eyes. Therapy lies in identifying the allergens and avoiding them and antihistamines. Its difficult to predict what the allergen was. So, maintain a diary and note down your symptoms. This will help to narrow down the search. Please consult your primary care physician for further evaluation.
Avatar f tn Then next morning it was a full blown reaction, swollen eyes, rash all over my eyes and face. I was told to take Benadryl, it didn’t work. I go to another doctor and receive oral prednisone pills. They work beautifully, my skin is back so I wear mascara then I take it off at the end of the night with my makeup wipes. Next morning BOOM again allergic reaction, swollen eyes and rash. The common denominator was the makeup wipes so I throw them out and see the doctor again.
Avatar f tn foods and drinks (acidic/ citrus/ concentrated/ powerful - even including apples, dark green foods, dry crackers, salt, spices, pepper, for example) and instead choosing gentle, more alkaline substances that supposedly enable the kidneys to get the rest they need to heal from the inflammation that the eyes are mirroring. (I once got lightly swollen eyes the next morning from drinking boiled water from a tin while camping!
Avatar m tn Red swollen itchy sometimes scaly eyes. I have never had any problems and developed this eye problem a year and a half ago. My doctors have there ideas of what it is but....they don't seem to suffer from my problem and I really don't think putting cortizone cream on my eyelids is a great idea. I was also on a diet of drinking water and not eating any sugar, salt , flour, wheat, soy, tomatoes, potatoes, pork...etc.
Avatar n tn ve experienced rubber-legs and blurry vision. Two days ago I woke up with a swollen face, particularly around by eyes. I went to the doctor thinking that it was a reaction to shell fish (prawns) and was given Benedryl. I used lubriderm again last night a woke up with major swelling around my eyes. I look like someone who got beat up real bad. Anyone know of successful lawsuits?
Avatar m tn ) After two days of use, my skin was extremely dry and my eyes were swollen. I stopped using the benzoyl peroxide, but continued with the salicylic acid because I was out of town with no other products. After six days, I stopped using the products entirely. I have been rinsing my face with water and drenching it in Eucerin several times a day. Eucerin is the ONLY product that does not sting. I sometimes use unscented glycerin soap. Six weeks later, I see no improvement.
Avatar n tn skin mostly- under my eyes- is swollen, red, & scaley, & seems to absorb lotion very quickly, & gets more scales

1823918 tn?1317422435 I awoken the next morning to both top and bottom lids on both eyes swollen with fine bumps on top lids only and very itchy, so I continued to take benadry for the next couple of days. When it seem like the swelling was going down I put my contacts back in for the day, took them out cleaned them. The next day my lids began to swell back up, the itching never stopped but got worst and 2 days later both lids were so swollen I could barely see.
Avatar n tn my son just took cephalexin. He now has swollen eyes and lots of redness. Is this an allergy? Now what?
Avatar n tn You could have an allergic reaction of the skin around the eyes, or some type of skin infection or some other type of skin inflammation disorder. You need to see an ophthalmologist for the eyelid problem and probably a dermatologist as well. Sorry, but I can't make any specific treatment recommendations without seeing you.
Avatar f tn I recently started having significant under eye swelling. I've had "bags" under my eyes before, but this is different. It's more like fluid filled "sacs". My nose also looks swollen. This will reduce slightly as the day progresses, but not completely. My allergies are under control, so I am concerned. The swelling seems to blur my vision slightly and my eyes have been watering more despite having my allergies under control.
Avatar m tn Recently went on a 3 night holiday with the family and on the last day I broke out in rashes on my arms, face plus both my eyes were severely swollen. I do not know what caused it?? As far as I know I'm not allergic to any foods but this may no longer be true...
Avatar f tn This is the second time this has happened to me within the last month. I have been having an allergic reaction to something unknown. The first time I was at work and it started as a rash on my arms then turned into hives on my chest then the third day my lips were numb. I saw my gyno and she said just take benadryl and monitor. Well ive taken it pretty much everyday since and the rash went away but my eyes have been the problem now. The become so itchy and I cant stop rubbing them.
Avatar f tn The symptoms included... Hives, itching, swelling of the throat, inability to swollow properly, swollen eyes, and a swollen itchy penis. The same symptoms have occurred each time since - less severe. It is very concerning and puzzling. He also becomes quite unwell when stung by anything - ticks,ants,bees,wasps..
Avatar f tn About 2 weeks ago, my eyes started itching severely and I just assumed it was pollen allergies. Then one morning I woke up with my eyes swollen shut and red. I used a washcloth compress to get the swelling down and the eyes continued to be red and swollen and itchy and I noticed little blisters kind of like what I get when I wear cheap jewelry and get a chemical reaction from the metal. I have tried some Zatidor eyedrops-antihistime twice daily.

Avatar f tn t have shingles in my eye thank God, and my swollen eyes is likely do to some type of allergic reaction.... What exactly she could not say, neither could I. So she gave me a steroid shot and that was it. At least I am not going crazy researching on the Internet and pray the steroid shot helps and these swollen eyes dont return again. Thanx for your response.
Avatar f tn Ok..to start with , dont toy around with any meds....allow each med to get into your system (around 3 months) and take it from there. What were your last lot of elevsl and how long since RAI? The swelling around the eyeball is NOT from RAI or from the meds. It's also fairly common for your eyes to exhibit mild signs of a condition known as Graves' ophthalmopathy. In Graves' ophthalmopathy, your eyeball bulges out past its protective orbit (exophthalmos).
237053 tn?1258828426 My sister in law had mentioned something about using too much visine can cause a reverse reaction and make the eyes red. I do use visine almost every day, but found it very strange. Anyone know about red eyes and lymes?
Avatar f tn My eyes ever since I can remember go red and itchy so I rub them then they go all swollen with a what looks like a film of jelly under them. When I wake up I have a thick green mucus in my eye under my bottom lid but they are always leaking like my tear ducks don't have a stop tap so I can't really wear make up to cover the darkness under my eyes from after they have been swollen.
Avatar f tn I soak in the hot tub with the family for 15 minutes, go back to the hotel room and sleep and wake up the next day with swollen eyelids on top and bottom, swollen sinus, and my checks, earlobes and whole face are swollen, hot to the touch and red. I feel better when I stand up and move around but after 3 days, the face is still swollen and starts to crack and peel on third day. The first time this happened, the ER doctor thought it was an allergic reaction to a new med.
