Swelling of one eye has gone down tremendously while the other eye is still nearly swollen shut. My question is about the swollen eye. Although it could be because that eye is still very swollen, but she can barely open the eye up and can only see through the inner corner of the eye. It had me worried so I took a look inside.

This time, I noticed that the sclera, white portion, of the eye was swollen and raised with a clowdy faint dark red/brown color. I took him to our local eye doctor for another opinion and to help us to find out what is going on! He said he has an infection in the eye which is severe with inflamed tissue. He gave us a prescription of Alrex, which is loteprednol. I am very worried that the doctors are missing something. Is this a normal reaction to an eye infection for a toddler??

Hagan, my baby is 1 year old, he developed the chalazion on his left eye and first my pedia prescribe fucithalmic and after a week we fed him egg and the eye swollen again and then the dr. prescribe tobradex, which contain steroid, is that helpful in curing the chalazion?

) My 23 month old has had a swollen right eye now for a few days. She had this same symptom on the right side last August. Just a pink, puffy eyelid. No drainage, no fever, not painful. But she does rub it occasionally. The sclera of her eye is still white and she is able to move her eye normally. She has not had any new foods, no new detergents/soaps. I worked in an eyecare for years and i will tell you now, bring ur kid in for an eye check up. The first eye check up should be at 1yrs old and every year after that until they are 18. Optometrist know what to look for even if the baby cant express themselves and youd be suprise how many children have one eye that has no fonction. As a baby if the sight isnt fixed atvearly age the brain will stop focusing on the bad eye and ignore it and focuse on the good on.

d like to point out it does not seem to be contagious - has not spread to my right eye, and I have two small children (a toddler and an infant) that could have easily probably picked it up from me, but they have been fine. Thanks again.

She had her first facial swelling at 11 months old, woke up one morning and her eye was swollen shut! Even since then she has it on and off and she is now 18 months old. We have been to see lots of docs and lots of tests have been done but non of them have got a clue! she now wakes up with swollen eyes, lips, cheeks and once she woke up with a swollen forehead :( I have changed all the normal things like washing powder, cleaning products, even changed all of her bedding.

I have a 26 month old toddler. who the other day developed a fever was taken to the doctor he put her on bacrtim for uti without a urine sample. since then she has developed sores in mouth like canker sores, she is cutting molers and dentist said mouth not large enough to support new teeth so they are acting like braces. glands along jaw line are swollen and hard both sides but not on top of jaw like mumps. tylenol and ibuprofen are not working.

I decided to just leave it be after that and went back to bed. When I woke up in the morning my eye was almost swollen shut. It is mostly my upper eye lid but the lower lid is also puffy down where you usually have "bags" under your eyes. Is this something I need to see a doctor about???

i was diagnosed with bih in 2006 and ive been in and out of hospital since i was put on diamox xmas 2006 and i came off it noz 2007 and so far all has been fine no headaches anything and i noticed over the weekend that my left eye ball seems swollen compared to the right my eye lid is covering more of my left eye due to it being swollen. there is no pain or blurred vision or anything really and i just wondered if this could be anything to do with raised pressure again?

Hi, My 18 month old son when was at home after having the food started itching both eyes. After few minute we saw that both his eye lids are swollen.There is no red-eye, but eye lid is swollen. It is bit itchy, but my son is playful and not crying. The food he had was the banana yogut, which he does have it. We did go out to park yesterday evening, but he got this eye swelling only today evening. Can you please guide me what this could be related to and can we take some eye drops ?

He normally will have a little eye redness after being groomed but when my husband brought him him I was shocked. The whole membrane around his eye was red and swollen. I posted a picture on facwbook and I have a friend who is a groomer and use to work for a vet and said this looked like it came from being choked by the harness. It is not cherry eye since that is in the corner of the eye. Could this have come from being choked?

Her RX is: OD +1.75-2.00x085 OS +2.00-1.75x090 Her dad thinks it's ridiculous that she needs glasses at such a young age. Would you prescribe them to her if that was her rx??? I took him to his 18 mo check up, and my Ped said, as long as he understands most of what your saying, looks at you when you call his name, shows eye contact, and smiles at you when you smile, he is ok. He said to monitor his learning, and if he doesn't say any words in the next couple months he is going to refer me to a childrens speech pathologist. Has anyone experienced this with their toddlers? I worry that he won't be "up to speed" with his peers...

my daughter hit her eye hard on the back the seat of the car it is blood shot and every so often she screems in pain anything I can do to help it or should I take her to the doctors?

t seem affected by the eye at all ... pain on right teeth molars from teething but no direct pain seemingly to eye. Very active toddler ... no problems noted with walking, etc. I would rather not pay to bring him into opthamologist, but will if warranted. We have just moved to MI and are in-between jobs (so no health care insurance currently, can't afford cobra rates). Any ideas on what this could be?

s left eye constantly blinks, this happened after he was punched by another 3 yr old toddler punched his left eye. We brought him to the pediatrician but the pediatrician forwarded us to a pedia-opthalmologist. the doctor didn't see any substance inside the eye, the eye is clean. he just gave us an antibiotic drops but my son's left eye still blinks after a week now.
