I'm very tired most of the time, and I get out of breath doing the most mundane things, like walking up a small incline or a small flight of stairs. I have also felt sharp pains in my chest on a number of occasions, but then they just go away. Sometimes I can feel like there is liquid rumbling around in my chest. It will cause wheezing from my chest, but not from my lungs. Does that make sense??

When I was 23 I had what I was convinced was a heart attack.

Pressure on the stomach from the swollen abdomen may lead to loss of appetite, and pressure on the lungs may lead to shortness of breath. When a doctor taps (percusses) the abdomen, the fluid makes a dull sound. When the abdominal cavity contains large amounts of fluid, the abdomen is taut, and the navel is flat or even pushed out. In some people with ascites, the ankles swell with excess fluid (edema).
