Been to several specialist and all I know is that I don't have RA, Lupus or anything else there is a blood test for. My life has come to a stop.
Troubles began with ankles swelling, then later a toe nail began to fall off, months after, red and brownish blotches began to appear on one ankle with mild itching. The blotches have now developed on the other ankle and red spots have appeared on my legs. Dr. recommended MENTAX for 14 days. I see no improvement. Any ideas on what I may have?
My boyfriend and I went to Rehoboth Beach, DE last weekend and he has an itchy rash on his waist, ankles and thighs. I have red bumps on my ankles and knees. Some of my bumps are raised and seem to be filled with liquid. He went to the doctor but could not get a diagonosis because doctor sen't sure what it was and prescribed a cortizone cream and antihistimine. Mine seem to be going away. We are thinking his could be scabies and are afraid to sleep together as it could be contagious.

However, since then BOTH of my feet and ankles have been swollen most all of the time (sometimes severely). The weird part is that I've noticed that whenever I'm on antibiotics for any unrelated illness, my feet and ankles do not swell. I've mentioned this to several doctors who all say that it can't have anything to do with it. But, I just think it is very odd that it never fails. Has anyone else ever noticed this?

My 14 year old woke up yesterday morning with a few red blotches on his knees and was complaining of alot of pain.At first I thought something had bitten him so I took him to the doctor and he looked at his knees and said he has juvenile arthritis.I thought diagnosing Arthritis would require some type of X-rays or something.. Also my hands seem to be swollen most of the time. Also, I had pain in my left shoulder, left wrist, and in my ankles for about 2 weeks after all of the genital symptoms cleared. My skin on my legs turned red and had these white blotches, some white blotches are small like the size of a pencil eraser, some are large like the size of the opening of a coffee cup. The lumps also go a clear colour so you cannot see where the blotches were.
I also have neuropathy and the redish brown spots all over my feet and ankles. Also within the last few months both shins above my ankles have become swollen and sore to the touch. My symtoms of neuropathy first started about seven years ago when we took our then five year daughter into the hospital to get her toncils out and she came out of it with brain damage. I cant even begin to tell anyone how devistating phisically and mentally this has been.
When I got home I pulled it off. I had red blotches across my back and sides. I even showed my husband. I wasn't sure what was going on so I threw the bra away. I haven't had a problem since. I'd like to know anyone who's had this hideous and annoying condition anywhere on their bodies other than ankles and lower legs - have you had it start on your ankles and then over the years progress to other parts of your body? Any remedy to reduce redness besides not exercising or walking outside? I moved from the dry climate of the Southwest and Southern Cal to hot and humid New England four years ago - nevr, ever had this until the first summer I arrived and then BAM!

On top of the itching, it's also embarrassing to have hives on your face. I hate it. Even going to the store with red blotches around my eyes, and even slightly swollen lips at times just isn't cool. At this point I have realized that there is no solution for the few of us that suffer from this, but I'm glad I'm not the only one. The only thing I can suggest is, Hydroxyzine for the itch, and maybe some OTC anti-histamines. So, back to the original topic!
I saw my internist who noted pathologically hyperactive reflexes on both knees and ankles, weakness of the R hip flexors and referred me to the neurologist I had seen before for migraines. I knew this neurologist thought I was a crock. But, he was also supposedly brilliant and had been named one of Portland's "Top 100 Doctors. So, even though he didn't seem to like me, I expected him to be knowledgeable and professional.

I am not a runner but if I just want to walk briskly anytime between 10 and 30 minutes I will start to itch at my ankles and it moves up to my thighs until I can't stand it anymore. I get little red raised bumps and start to scratch like a crazy woman. I am able to get on an olyptical but not a treadmill which seems really weird. I can't even walk on my lunchhour for fear that I will get a breakout. It's hard to even walk the rest of the way home once it starts to itch.
Crawling sensations on skin Fainting Blurred vision Smothering spells - gasping for breath Red blotches on skin or circular arcs of red skin Lack of sexual drive Chest pain - severe, but EKG normal. Can't tolerate bright light or loud sounds Joint pains Another clue is that the symptoms are usually worse in the early morning after waking, and get better after being up and around a full day. Even though nothing is coming up in there basic exams, they think that it is poor blood circuation. It causes my legs to slowly fade in color and bright red hot spots appear. They say that the blood is building in spots under the skin causing it to suddenly get hot. So even though I have no real answers yet and just guesses from primary doctors, it nice to know that everything came back ok. They are sending me to a blood circulation specialist as well as a heart specialist.
you should ask your endo about it.. i can remember that whole feeling.. where my ankles felt like knobs that couldnt hold up the rest of my body... i take the generic of armour.. and it works great.. i think its just a matter of finding what is best for you... take care!!
The hives are itchy and uncomfortable and I am so tired of having people point out red blotches on my neck, face, arms, etc. I've learned that in addition to being diagnosed with autoimmune hives, I have also developed an allergy to all pain medication except for tylenol. My immunologist says that autoimmune urticaria is often triggered by an initial allergic reaction to something such as ibuprofin. Now my immune system overreacts to everything.
I itch all over and don't really have any outward symptoms. Just a couple little red swollen areas that I think are from scratching. Its all over my body but mostly my legs and abdomen/chest and ribs. Doesn't seem like anyone's found much of a solution to this problem.
