swollen

I eat healthy and have normal blood pressure. I drink 1-2 drinks per day. I do not smoke. I am very worried about this symptom. What could be the cause?
If he gave her pills because of her blood pressure, she probably needs to be put on another form of BP medication, if her BP needs to be kept under control. If your MIL is in decent condition, it might help for her to do some walking every day. Fluids can pool at the ankles because the 'return' system of veins and lymphatic tissue gets a little lax as people age.
i had really hight blood pressure that they had to put me on medication for. by the time i left the hospital...my blood pressure was still high. i think its an actual term during pregnancy...but i dont remember it. talk about it with your doctor.
we did cardiologist, we did hormone levels for women's health to see if that threw of the other adrenal related hormones, we did thryoid testing, we did gastrointestinal testing, we did mental health, we did orthopedics, we did carotid artery testing, we did electro-veinous circulation testing, we did bone density testing, we did moderate exercise in a chair with moderate walking, we did leg therapy to strengthen muscles and work on underused leg blood gates, MY ANKLES ARE SWOLLEN TWO WEEKS OUT
Sorry about the griping on my last post. More news. I went on Tuesday and got blood taken and a "liquid" sample. My blood pressure medicine (actually an ace-inhibitor--lisinopril, generic for zestril) ran out of refills, and the doctor only called in one month of refills for this month. I think he is thinking that the swelling is blood pressure-related, or he already found something out and isn't telling me. I go to see him on the 30th...
can all change meds requirements, so it's best to keep up with regular blood work. My ankles haven't swollen once, even in hot weather, since I got my levels under control...
Last night I noticed that I could not see my ankles because they are so swollen. Today is very painful, my legs, knees, ankles and feet are very swollen and painful, what should I do? Could this be serious? It is very hard to even walk at this point. Thanks.
My doctors thought I had the first signs of heart failure because my ankles/feet were swollen. Thankfully that wasn't the problem. They were so swollen I couldn't put my special compression support hose over them. I had to go without for several months. My doctors kept giving me water pills to decrease the swelling but they didn't work. I had those two conditions at once and that confused the doctors.
last night I was back in the emergency room with a high pulse rate and swollen feet and ankles. The doctors are suggesting that this is acute anxiety and sent me home with a prescription for Ativan. Help!
Hi, I've had very swollen ankles and a very fast heart rate (125-135) for about 2 weeks now. I'm rather concerned about this. I can feel my heart beating quite a bit of the time. This can be alarming. I also sometimes have difficulty breathing, but I do have asthma. I recently spent 10 days in the hospital for asthmatic/bronchitis. While I was there the doctors were concerned about my heart, because of these symptoms. They did an EKG, but I guess it was fine.
I was prescribed by the military doctor generic blood pressure medication and then my family doctor prescribed me a mild dose of depression medication. I can honestly say that I have not had any problems with my feet swelling and I've been feeling great during the day.
my husband just got biopsy read today and hep c came back, he has been expierencing continous swollen and tight belly with shortness of breath cause of the pressure on diaphragm, bp has risen , blood sugars are now out of control , when he is not working he sleeps 17 out of 24 hours a day, liver is enlarged, will see gastro doc on tuesday, ct scan shows no acites , which is baffling , why is belly so big and tight?
I switched from Toprol xl to Metropolol tart about 2-3 months ago and since then one of my ankles, has swollen up and it is very painful to walk on. Even after being off of it, overnight, there is no relief. The swelling has been constant for the whole 2 months. Has anybody else had this kind of side effect? I am going to try going back to the name brand Toprol xl, to see if this helps, before I have a MRI done of my ankle.
The tops of my feet are raised up swollen and my ankles and calves are swollen severely. Needless to say they hurt like crazy. I became very worried about the swelling as everyone was telling me there were serious reasons feet and legs can swell, so I finally decided to go to the ER and find out what was going on.
Watch out the Verapamil. It caused me having a fatty liver. My blood pressure is still in very good level. I also called everywhere for help. Please help.......
Shortness of breath at rest is very concerning. Blood pressure can't be 796.2, so we really don't know what your blood pressure was. I'm just scratching the surface here. Untreated MRSA, you seriously know you have that? It sounds to me like you have a lot of things that need to be looked into and addressed. You have major symptoms and no medical care for 15 years. One doctor's visit and a script for Wellbutrin isn't going to get you healthy.
When that didn't work, she went back and this time they told her it was a reaction to her blood pressure medication and to go see her physician. She has refused to see her doctor and her legs are getting worse. My brothers and I are worried sick. She won't go for help and we are so worried about her but we cannot help her. Also, she has had a toenail fungus for years that was left untreated and her toes are a mess. We were wondering if this could have something to do with her symptoms.
Sitting cross legged on the floor / pain in hips, ankles, sometimes knees. Waking up in morning / stiffness, back muscle pain, ankles, standing, walking, shooting leg pain (now intermittent). Stairs / knee pain (weak and clunky), ankles (painful, tight, especially inside posterior tibial tendon). Standing on tip toe / ankle, foot pain, toe pain, arches. Bending from waist / shooting pain in left leg, hip pain, lower back pain, mid back stiffness.
about the herbal stuff but mine said it would be fine. Keep her legs up while sitting whenever possible. Is it a blood pressure issue because mine isn't and I would hate to give bad advice if there is an underlying medical condition.
I have an appointment with an Allergist soon. My lips have swollen 3 times the normal size, pressure from shoes and under garments also cause swelling. I never know when the swelling will be triggered and once it's triggered, it takes a matter of minutes to form a huge bump which then expands rapidly in whatever course it decides to take. The swelling has moved from the top lip to the bottom lip, down my neck and back up. I have had by tongue swell, finger tips swell and feet swell!
Dont panic because you dont want your blood pressure to go off too but you should consider going to the ER if there are any heart signs, better to be safe than sorry. Personally i've only ever experienced exstreem leg swelling when i was pregnant, toximic and i was admitted, totally went away on its own, so not the same thing or are you not telling us something hmmmmm. Hugs..........
The tingles came back but in my feet and I became convinced my feet were swollen and having troubles. I have had blood tests...waiting..from my heart doc..my yearly thing anyways. I have no family history in diabetes or kidney problems and haven't had anything to make me think that. In 2004 a report showed my blood levels normal I guess my point is that when you obsess over symptoms, it heightens them and can cause more.
Hello I have hypothyroidism, I went to the emergency room having horrilbe chest pains on my left side, felt like someone was sitting on my chest and was having spasms in my chest, with pains in my shoulder blades, my feet and ankles are swollen. Not to mention horrible headaches. Wasn't sure what was going on, when they took my blood, my results on my TSH were 123.35. I've never heard of it being so high, is that dangerous?
I realized that my stomach was swollen too. On June 30, 2008 I consulted a GP who put me through a blood test and stool test. The stool test result stated "No Ova or parasites seen". while the blood test thyroid function and general chemistry was normal. The doctor put me on Nexium tablets twice a day and most of the swelling subsided but not completely. Then only he asked me to do a follow through from which he identified it as a ulcer.
Digestive problems, high blood pressure, rapid heart rate (sometimes, night sweats (only occasional), reccuring sore throats, sore stiff neck, always tired and worn out feeling, recently noticed hard sore lump behind right ear-lymph node maybe? I am tired and what to know what is wrong. I have had blood work done 5 times over past year. I get up in the morning and just feel like I have been run over by a truck. Wouldn't someone notice an elavated white count, etc?
I called and my medication was switched to Toporol XL. However, my feet and ankles are still swollen. How long after stopping Norvasc should I expect the swellling to last?
I broke down and took two rounds of antibiotics for a recent bout of sinus pain and congestion, and sicker since, unable to work, fatigued with head pressure, had swollen nodes in the back of my neck/head that were sore. Never had that in my life. I went to a natural doctor who has put me on a detoxifying shake with many nutrients that clear the system out. Also homeopathic drops to put in water to build my resistence up to allergens. She also mentioned removing any mercury tooth fillings.
I'm calling my doctor today because I finished up the medicine she gave me and I'm still very swollen, the sensitivity went away but obviously having a swollen clitoris and inner labia isn't comfortable! I will ask her about that. However, for it's not the hood that really swollen, it's my inner labia. But my clitorus does feel very hard underneath the hood like you mentioned. As if it was eroused and stayed that way. My doesn't feel sore to touch but it doesn't feel normal either.
This just happened again to my thumb after 10 years and my cardiologist prescribed high blood pressure meds...and I DON'T have high blood pressure, I've been running for 25 years! If anyone has a diagnosis please share...I know your frustration.
