Avatar f tn Yes! I worked at a massage place but the massage therapist has to, has to know how to do prenatal massage. It's very important!
3170462 tn?1344717552 Having just gone through the bulk of detox myself, I understand how hard it can be. During mine, I had completely forgotten that I have a gift certificate for a 1-hour Swedish massage, aromatherapy, hot towel foot treatment, and 15-minute treatment on a HydroLuxe massage bed. I would like to offer this gift certificate to someone who will use it. Free. No strings. No personal information needed.
Avatar f tn Massage is just not recommended in ur 1st trimester. My doc encouraged me to get a massage. Just make sure it's prenatal massage bcuz there are trigger points and aromatherapy that u want to avoid while pregnant.
1583834 tn?1296685960 Aromatherapy, massage, acupuncture, reiki anything that can help with symptoms great. As far as helping the disease these are all anecdotal. Most have been scientifically studied. I have tried most. I do use hypnosis for stress and pain management. Exercise such as yoga is known to help symptoms as well.
Avatar f tn I haven't used the pack, but i'm doing the massage with the castor oil. Which I actually enjoy.

Avatar n tn I heard that you have to be careful with aromatherapy oils. You're better mentioning to the beauty therapist to be on the safe side so they can use alternative oils.
Avatar f tn My cousin did. As a professional massage therapist I recomended a swedish massage twice a month. It's cheaper than seeing a therapist, or medications and if you need those they'll refer you. But you might as well take the option that just plain feels good, and gives you a moment to focus on you and feel better faster.
Avatar f tn I am going for an aromatherapy massage myself today and think that it is a great way to loosen up sore muscles, and relieve stress. So off now for some relaxation to the spa/gym where I am a member.
Avatar n tn I got a swedish massage Saturday afternoon and about a half hour after started to feel a little sick. It felt like cramps/nausea and came in waves. I had my period for a few days, but was not feeling bad before the massage at all this month. About 2 hours after the massage while I was shopping I felt really sick and fainted. I've never fainted before in my life. Do you think it was the massage? Im hoping its not something more serious.
Avatar m tn I am interested in availing of a linggam massage from a sex worker but I have never had any encounter with a sex worker before. The thing with having a girlfriend give a handjob or massage is that it is more of a give and take relationship and it's really hard to fully relax and not have to reciprocate. I don't think I have ever have been in a relationship where I can just relax for 1 whole hour as they are not willing to do so and feels unnatural.
Avatar f tn The LaStone uses smooth stones that are heated and cooled with the balance of a light Swedish massage. There are still more modalities that I am learning to become a Massage Therapist. Thanks to you all for your honest answers and I also will place these in my report as well as long no one has any objections.
1839746 tn?1318546806 Since I do not know what type of massage you are getting, I would say subtle Aromatherapy massage combined with Lymphatic massage would be best suited, to my opinion. Should your therapist be knowledgeable with Chakras , then you would have the added benefit of Energy re-balancing. I would avoid deep tissue, Shiatzu and Swedish for the time being. My update: Second day of "pleuritis"(self-diagnosed) with substantially less pain and much easier to breathe.
7356842 tn?1405617843 Yes, there are many non-pharmacological methods to alleviate pain and stress. For stress, you can try deep breathing, yoga, meditation, Reiki and aromatherapy.
Avatar f tn I use the aromatherapy from bath and body works called sleep. It helps but it doesn't keep me asleep.
Avatar m tn About 5 weeks ago I went to a local massage place. I came in for a Swedish massage and I ended up with a prostate massage. The masseuse was being a little to rough and I think that my bowel were not empty. Since then been I having all kind symptoms. At first, for about two weeks I had a burning sensation in my lower left abdominal area and constipation, then I started getting hot flashes and a light pain in my anus , scrotum and lower abdominal area and occasional joint pain.
Avatar f tn Have you tried focused slow breathing, walking, aromatherapy, acupuncture, massage, redirect by doing something? Also...low Vitamin D3 and magnesium can contribute to anxiety and depression.
1383825 tn?1315232262 I do aromatherapy massage for this type of pain, so if you want to hop on the next plane to Scotland.... Well at least I offered.... But if you can get someone to just to a simple massage for you, it'll help. Hope it eases off really soon.
Avatar f tn So, I would suggest perhaps going to a sports injury doc, they deal with things like rotator cuff injuries all the time, and he can evaluate you and perhaps order physical therapy. On your own, you could instead visit a professional massage therapist, deep Swedish massage a few times might break up the pain in there and relieve your headaches. Now, anytime a person is in a lot of pain, they will have your other symptoms of being tired, not able to focus, and emotional problems.
398059 tn?1447945633 Swedish massage is out for you and me. Deep kneading only aggravates the muscles and often causes spaasms and pain. I found a massage therapist who is excellent with positional release and accupressure. Both are really gentle touch, and extremely beneficial for relaxing those hyper-muscles. You might search in your area for someone who is trained in either of those techniques. If you google positional release you will find a lot of information.
Avatar m tn the massage was with oil as it was a swedish massage.the girl is from thailand.i generally asked her where is from and what she does etc.She was keen on giving me more services for extra pay but i didnt do anything apart from a handjob. after the massage which bathing i felt a slight sting on my index finger on my right hand.it had a tiny cut and wasnt bleeding but it was stinging and was red.i did press her breast once while she gave me a handjob as she was topless.
538403 tn?1213717644 Make sure your LMP is knowledgeable in the modalities of massage that affect scar tissue, a generic swedish massage (the standard of most therapists) won't do much for your situation. You need cross fiber friction massage to literally break up the tissue.
181575 tn?1250198786 A massage therapist is there to help you relax but relaxation isnt everything a massage therapist is good for. we want to help heal your body as well. Swedish massage (typical 1hour massage at the Spa) is circulatory...meaning it moves the blood around the body by using long gliding strokes. This can be very relaxing, but my book says it should not be done with someone who has hepatitis...here is why.Hepatitis, as i have been reseaching, directly associated with the liver.
Avatar f tn Okay. Good. Deep tissue is the type of massage that you will need. Swedish only works on the superficial muscle and tissue. Ice after the massage, if deep tissue. You can be sore (like soreness after a workout) because toxins are being pushed out of the muscle into you body. Also drink lots of water to hydrate you muscles. Looking forward to hearing back from you.
Avatar f tn I almost hate that my sessions are soon to come to an end. I have a Groupon for a massage at a massage parlor that does prenatal massage. When I finish my chiropractic sessions, I will go to my ob and make sure that is okay to get the massage... anything that may safely ease discomfort is definitely welcomed (in my opinion)...
Avatar f tn This message is for the people who: have been to their doc and they just keep giving you pain pills and scratching their heads; you've been to multiple people( neurologists, orthopedists, family physician, etc., etc,, etc..) and they don't find anything significant; you've had multiple tests (MRIs, cat scans, nerve conduction tests, etc.. and they pretty much come up clear OR your doctor has told you OR made you feel that THIS STUFF IS ALL IN YOUR HEAD! You're CRAZY.
Avatar f tn I take calcium pills (doc recommended)and then I always spray a lavender/chamomile aromatherapy sleep spray from bath and body works on my pillow and then stretch and massage my legs. It helps in the beginning to get to sleep. But if you find any other remedies im all ears.
Avatar m tn Have you a lot of tension in the muscles in your neck and shoulders? If so, could be cause of headaches. How about a nice massage on shoulders? I found aromatherapy message especially beneficial. When I saw consultant about headache like yours, I was given relaxants to help.
